Here are just a couple of the testimonials from our members of the infamous Batwing, which we lost last week...Gone but never forgotten...
The thing that sticks in my mind and two or three other guys is BatWing was famous for saying “Send Me The Link”. Not wanting to put him down, but he was famous for showing up not having the map we were using. So we always had to send him the link to where the map was. It was actually comical after a while. We all wish we could hear it again today.

Even though Batwing left TAW in 2010, he still came online and played with members in GR. He always came into Teamspeak, and was one of the few genuine happy voices that you could notice without hesitation. Batwing Joined in 2008 while I was still in GR Division. He had many friends, mainly because of his dedication to gaming, but more of his quality of life. Batwing took every challenge we gave him and ran with it. He was never late or lacking effort on any assignment we gave him and he accepted. I could always remember that there were FEW GR players that could snipe me with such conviction as Batwing. It always seemed that he knew where, how, when I was going to be at my spot, and he was waiting for me. He enjoyed Coop as well. He always accepted helping others, whether a Squad Leader or Head Drill Instructor. One particular game that stands out was when I was making my way to a sniping position, and keep in mind that Chicago could lock down an area by himself if I got there. And when turning my last corner with seemingly no opposition in sight was Batwing's squad of mates waiting for me and turned into my literal execution. The fact that nobody could fool Batwing made him so enjoyable. You couldn't pull the wool over his eyes, he was too smart. He was too gifted. He was too tactical. Batwing loved Mechwarrior and was waiting for the new game to be released. He was also a great Arma2 player. He enjoyed Crysis and helped in the Beta testing. Sadly, he will be missed, far too early that should ever happen. Cheers to a great man, gamer, family man.

Well it looks like I will have egg on my face for a long time after this one... I am Happy to announce that the reports of Batwing's demise were premature, I was contacted by him right after we posted this testimonial, he is touched by the love and concern that the TAW community has shown. The member who reported his demise to me has been severely chastised for not substantiating the report before he informed me. in my defense I must state that i made every effort to confirm the reports of his death, when i received no answer frome either Batwing or his Fiancé, I approved the story for release by the TAW newsletter, I apologize for any difficulties that have arisen from this report.

Details have came out that GRFS will be more like Arma than any other game. You will be in 3rd person until you look down the barrel, and then it will switch to 1st person. This seems to be the way of a lot of games and very popular at that. It is said that with GRFS, you couldn't take full advantage of the game play options if it was strictly first person. So maybe looking at console footage is more accurate than we thought!!!
