ANNOUNCEMENT: Arma's 1st Battalion, based out of the North American region, will be halting their acceptance of new applications for approximately 2 weeks. Applications will be open for this unit, at the latest, on June 1st.
During this brief time, the 1st Battalion will be undergo several exciting internal changes which are meant to bring current members up to speed and enhance the overall indoctrination and training (boot camp) process for incoming Recruits.
Note that recruiting for our 2nd Battalion (European time zone) will continue as usual.

One of the easiest ways to find all of TAW's Arma servers is to filter the in-game server browser for "taw". This way you will not only see our official TAW.net branded, division-funded servers, but also the client hosted sessions our members are playing or testing at the time. The population of these servers vary greatly depending on the time of day. Arma requires a lot of teamwork and quite an investment of time worth the rewards when you play it on multiplayer with dozens of teammates from around the world. Our Division rarely practices on the public servers because we run custom missions developed in-house. Twice a week and for approximately 2 hours each practice, we turn on and off other servers so we can practice privately and have an awesome experience.
NOTE: If a server isn't labeled with "TAW.net" in it's name then it's more likely to be a server hosted personally by a member and therefore not subject to TAW's administration, rather, how ever that particular member decides to manage it.

Tonight's mandatory Arma event featured a total of 51 members.
And it's not just numbers, but a constant strive for improvements to skill and team coordination. Here's the breakdown: 2 Platoon's, 5 squads, each leveraging the flexibility of 2 fire teams. The platoons ran a mission concurrently on 2 separate servers.

Today the Chicago-based box, supported by the members of TAW's Arma Division, achieved the #2 spot in the world of Arma servers. The Division has had a flagship server which saw the #5 spot before in the past year -- out of 540 total Arma servers which are tracked by GameTracker.com -- with one consistently near or within the top 10.
FelixLegion, Arma's Division Commander, shared his thoughts on the news. "This is an excellent representation for TAW! Gamers who play on the server know we pride ourselves on maintaining a positive atmosphere and one that really fits Arma's tactical, team-oriented gameplay, whether you're a newcomer or a veteran to the 'mil-sim' title. Without a doubt, the popularity and overall experience on the server is a culmination of a highly skilled and responsive server development team who work hard to implement and serve the ideas and suggestions offered by our members and guest public players alike. Secondly, the success can be attributed to the Division's vigilant server admins and members who devote their playing time as awesome representatives of the TAW community, and who responsibly follow-up on actions (big and small) necessary to ensure a friendly and fair environment for all."
The server which currently runs Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead on the "Domination" game mode has been a popular meeting place for Arma players worldwide who seek co-op gameplay which highlights teamwork, tactics, and fun. In short, the Domination game mode pits up to 40 players on a Western and European military team against hordes of computer-controlled AI units playing as Takistan military or militia. The battlefield is a vast region of various towns, more popularly referred to as AO's. The server's new ranking puts it just behind a Russian server running a version of the "Evolution" game mode.
With this success, additional achievements worth noting include:

TAW's Arma Division is comprised of two battalions:
- Our 1st Battalion team consists of members from the North and South American regions. The 1st Battalion plays every Sunday @ 7:00 PM EST and every Tuesday @ 9:00 PM EST. They have an optional practice every Thursday @ 9:00 PM EST.
- Our 2nd Battalion team is made up of members from the European region. The 2nd Battalion plays every Sunday @ 8:30 PM (UTC+01:00) and every Thursday @ 8:30 PM (UTC+01:00).
This fall we joined up with members of {Op4} and the 15th MEU. We had 58 players running a mission together, which narrowly eclipsed our previous record for players in game together. Thanks to Havok of {Op4} for helping organize.
