Once again it is time for the TAW Gathering. Like last year our gathering will coincide with and take place at QuakeCon held annually in Dallas, TX. This year will be our second annual TAW Gathering in the history of TAW and promises to be exciting with 19 TAW members already registered to attend.

What is QuakeCon? After BlizzCon, it is the second largest LAN party in the world. It is a series of huge tournaments, it is a meeting of the minds behind the games we play and a whole lot more. The 2009 QuakeCon is going to be held at the Hilton Anatole Convention Center in Dallas, Texas on August 13^th – 16^th.**The Venue has been changed to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, TX which is just North of Dallas. QuakeCon has many facets. There is an enormous “Bring Your Own Computer” LAN party. There are official and unofficial tournaments and competitions constantly going on 24 hours a day throughout the entire 4 days. There will be vendors and exhibitionists, clan meetings and poker games, file-swapping and nights out on the town with people you had only known until now as text names in a PC game. There is always something to do and the hardest thing is figuring out how you will manage your time to get the most out of it.

Like last year there will be a section for TAW members to sit together at the BYOC. This section in the BYOC will act as a base camp for us to participate in tournaments, go to the exhibits as a group and even get together for meals. Gathering with fellow TAW members at an event as big as QuakeCon is guaranteed to be an experience you won't forget anytime soon!!

We will have several meetings prior to this years TAW Gathering to help synchronize our efforts and to ensure all TAW members that attend get a chance to meet up. We have formed a committee to help ensure this years TAW Gathering goes off without a hitch. The members of the committee are: Hook, Rinehardt, Feanor and Bravehardt. Feel free to approach them via email, TS or catch one or all of the meetings that will be held prior to the Gathering.

Meeting Schedule
All meetings are open to TAW members that are either planning to or thinking about attending the TAW Gathering.

Meetings will be held in TS in the TAW Gathering '09 channel that can be found in the public play area of TS.
