The
TAW QW Division is excited to announce the arrival of
Quake Wars: Tactical Assault. This mod for Enemy
Territory: Quake Wars, created by Azuvector, offers us not only extra features, but new
content as well. Gruesome blood & gore, new vehicles,
new deployables, new weapons, etc. This fresh face for ETQW is a
welcome revival to a truly great First Person Shooter. QWTA has been
described as a “realism mod” but it is much more than that.
Tactical Assault represents the next step in Quake Wars and unlike
other ETQW mods, it is FULLY customizable. That means we can turn on
or off each individual setting or mix and match them for any number
of millions of possible server configurations.

automatic download and automatic install from any TAW QWTA

QWTA
also offers us a chance to change what is known as regular Quake Wars
for our “vanilla” servers. We will be making the following
improvements to the basic game:
-Shots and explosions draw gruesome spurts of blood from bodies
-Removing
the text artillery warning that appears on the HUD when a Hammer
missile or Dark Matter Cannon is fired
-Using
the Quake 4 Dark Matter Cannon which launchers a gravimetric
singularity and sucks things in and then violently explodes them
-Using
a nuclear Hammer missile which has a brighter flash, mushroom cloud
and it has an EMP effect on nearby enemy vehicles for 10 seconds
-Using
reversible airstrikes which allows you to right click and make your
vampyre or violator go right to left instead of left to right
-Using
instant gibs for covert ops backstabs so when someone is backstabbed
they are unrevivable
-Using
the Quake 4 Railgun which allows strogg railgun shots to go through
GDF bodies
-Using
the Tactical Shield Absorber which allows Oppressors to recal their
tactical shields by right clicking
Other
new things in TA which WON'T be in the “vanilla” servers BUT
might be available for use (depending on configs created by the staff
which turn each of these settings on or off) in the “pure TA
servers” will include:
-Improved
Shotguns/Nailguns (higher rate of fire and higher damage)
-switching
vehicle spawns to requesting drops for all vehicles
-the
screen fading to black while you are dead and gibbed
-The
lock-on, splash damage Quake 4 Hyperblaster
-Limiting
the number of each class
-realistic
movement (toggling strafe jumping and toggling lean shooting)
-toggling
mine icons
-toggling
mine trigger warnings
-toggling
lock warnings
-the
Jupiter tank (modified Titan which shoots the BFG10k)
-the
Abaddon tank (modified desecrator which has an anti-vehicle plasma
beam and an anti infantry flame thrower)
-the
use of consumable Field Experience to drop different vehicles (FE is
the average of your whole team's XP)
-toggling
vehicle crosshairs
-realistic
weapons (light weapons don't damage heavy vehicles and do more
infantry damage)
-making
radar detect only vehicles/deployables, or having it detect
everything
-making
vehicle drops cost more FE/XP
-vehicles
run out of ammunition or not
