I feel like the move was not unexpected but still very surprising
Welcome to OS!
Welcome to OS! :DDDDDD
Moved to OS!....whose crazy idea was that?!?!
I am really grateful for all the work you guys are doing in EDU - it's thanks to you that our divisions do have the officers we need, and, bottomline, that TAW is working as good as it is.
However, I would REALLY apprciate it if you could send out a mail the next time you're cancelling the academy.
Anyway, good luck for the future!
Very interesting name. I like it.
You guys do a great service to TAW, Sentinel or not, keep up the amazing work.
Looking forward to those Advanced Classes... =D
Please note: TAW Education Center [EDU] will still be doing the TAW Academy, TAW U, TAW Guides and TAW Wide events.
Please make sure proper subtitles are available.
You have a good idea, when we do include either audio or video we will add subtitles.
Do we have a timing on the releasing of classes. There's lots I want to take, and people I'd love to get trained up. I know a lot are in progress.
Great news. I just wish we had an ETA :)
This is fantastic, thanks folks!
Very good job guys! keep it up. I am really excited to hear this!
While we have no set ETA for the start of the new classes, it's safe to say not before september, but before the end of the year.
Our whole staff is working really hard to accomplish it asap. We are making good progress on the classes and making sure that they are up to date as how it is within TAW.
I tried to make an account, and it says my username (seifenstein) is already taken ?
will our website account be linked to this plattform ?
No the TAW website and the Open Learning website are not linked in terms of accounts. @Seifenstein
This looks fantastic so far gents!
Having the classes available online at any time is fantastic decision. Good work!
Great decision to bring the training online. Very promising for the future of TAW.
So in the meantime, are we going to have back the classes request sheet?
Hello everyone TAW Education Center here, with a few very exciting and promising announcements for you
Thanks for these training materials it has made feeling more at home in TAW a breeze!
can't wait to complete all of them!
Great work guys, glad to see this all officially released :)
Fantastic Job, thanks for all your efforts.
Like it a lot, however I had to deactivate my noscript addon since it prevents me from seeing the course list in the first place because it is using some form of embeded thing and even if I allow all scripts it's still not showing up...
I hope my NCOs won't be too unhappy when I tell them they gotta take classes :P
Amazing work comrades, looks real good!
Nice post and well done!
great job EDU
We have had some questions about combining classes. We currently have 11 classes and adding the HDI class would make it 12. We don't foresee any of the current classes being combined but if there is a change we will post it.
If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me and I will get back to you ASAP and again thank you for your patience.
Good to hear the classes are coming back. Keep it up!
Can we get the old classes for the period that the e-learnings are down?
As the information on the old classes is outdated, we will NOT be providing these to the members of TAW. While awaiting the online courses to get back on, sharing experience with your fellow leadership is a great way for everyone to keep learning ;-)
TL;DR E-courses up and running again! New format! Updated content! New Tabs and Badges! And much much
Have a look at our forum post as well !! (taw.net/.../102037.aspx)
Thank you to all those who spent numerous hours making this happen.
YES! Finally! Congratulations gentlemen, good work. Now it's time to hit the books again. :)
Awesome work! I'm really looking forward to all our members using the Open Learning and applying for positions.
Incredible work to all..GO TEAM!
I think it is absolutely vital that courses are mandatory for every position. People will have different (wrong) ideas what role means and before you know it, you'll have inefficient organisation.
Speaking from professional experience.
Congratulation on great work guys!
I used to have similar online courses at one company I worked at some 6 years ago and it was perfect interface for learning.
Meeting again with this concept in TAW, served as a very useful reminder what possibilities lie in such interface and I actually started a project to develop Open Learning at work for some 120 employees.
Thanks TAW ;)
I agree with Seraphim, in my battalion the courses are mandatory and need to be done asap for specific positions and for all the positions below them for Officers (CO/XO/SO basicly need to do all the courses for positions a battalion has to offer on a midterm basis). But I'm not rushing them :)
A lot of my guys already came to me that they appreciated the courses a lot and learned something from them.
So kudos to EDU for such an amazing job
@Seraphim: Glad to hear how we are bringing up good memories! Wishing you the best of luck with your project. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with! :-)
When I became CiC, this was one of the first things I addressed. We had a hodgepodge of documentation that varied by Division. There was no consistency at all and the documentation was very limited, there were a couple different boot camp guides and a Battalion officer guide and that was about it. I wanted to create a repository of all the position guides which didn't even exist at the time. Through alot of hard work by many dedicated TAW members my original idea has evolved into what we have now which is absolutely an amazing transformation of the original concept but...it was never meant to replace the hands on, one on one training and mentorship that you get from your Commanding officers, the current EDU classes are a supplement to that and were never meant to be mandatory. That being said, a prudent member new to a position should naturally gravitate towards these courses.
Great, Thanks :)
Happy New Year!
One hour too early on my side, but happy new year y'all!
Happy and healthy 2017!
