Hello all tanker.
WG announce that they had a security problem, due to that they advise all players to change the password.
They also offering for every player that will change his password 300 gold.
So go ahead and do it.
Eighteen of our T.A.W members of easy company stepped up to the challenge of the skirmish of Murovanka IX.
It is a tier one battle but only two of a kind. This is a double elimination battle, consisting of 32 clans battling it out to the last tank.
It began last night on the 25 of February 2013 at 10:30 PST.
Our guys battled it out with MS-1 clan, with us winning three, one draw, and one loss.
The battle resumes tonight at the same time and goes though till 2 of March 2013. GOOD JOB TEAM keep up the good work.
By, LCshooter
I just want to salute to the tango company members and the whisky company members for their success in the super 6 cup.
They managed to get in the top 32 teams, and only got stop by one of the best clans on the Eu server.
I want to give personnel thanks to Torsha and shiftk for leading and organized the team.
I would like to take this opportunity to announce the presentation of the Bronze Star for Most Valuable Player to Gunnery SGT Torsha,
and the presentation of the Distinguished Service Medal to Second lieutenant Shiftk. Congratulations men!
Keep up the good work, think; if we accomplished this in 3 weeks just imagine what we can do in 3 months!
The full story will come shortly
Tuning frequency modulators,...
Setting hyper phase regulators,...
Picking off the solar flux distortion, ... That's it, I think we got it, ... Seems like a conversation between Hawken studio co-founder Chris Lalli, and Andy Hartup from PCGAMER...
OK, I'm Patching it through to you...
How happy are you with the way Hawken has been received by the critics and community?
I’m pleased with the reception Hawken has received so far. We’ve gotten great reactions from the core gameplay as well as the steps we’ve taken to avoid a ‘pay to win’ design approach. The game is still going to see some major improvements so things should only get better. Hawken is still in beta, and it’s a true Beta in the original sense of the word; we’re constantly tweaking, testing, and listening to community feedback. The players have the power to add or improve things and help shape the game, which I think they like.
Is the Hawken community behaving, or do you need to keep it on a short leash?
The community is fantastic, our forums are a collection of some of the most constructive and helpful gamers I’ve ever seen. There are difficult people in every community wherever you go, but for the most part our community is friendly and positive. There are also a lot of serious hard-core players that genuinely want to improve the game and see Hawken succeed, so that’s awesome.
The community is divided on counter-measures. Some see them as fair, skill-related items, others as pay-to-win abilities. Are you planning to modify them over the next few months?
The counter-measures we have now are a first pass at a mechanic we hope to make a lot of improvements to. We’re testing them out and will make changes according to the feedback we get from players. Regarding pay-to-win, all the counter-measures are available through Hawken Credits which are earned in-game at no cost.
Are you considering the addition of melee attacks and / or melee weapons?
Yes, I’d say we’re exploring the possibility of melee weapons, but in a controlled way that fits into the Hawken universe. We wouldn’t want to see every mech running around punching or swinging swords at each other, or have a long-range sniper class staying in close to melee. I’d like to see specialized mech classes or balanced weapons that incorporate melee, but at the cost of ranged attacks or something along those lines.
Some players have complained about screen-clutter making fights too confusing. Are you working on a clearer way of indicating whether your shots have landed, or your health is dropping? Or is the confusion of battle deliberate?
To some degree the screen clutter is deliberate and a part of the game aesthetic, but we certainly don’t want it to be confusing. We want the game to offer something unique from other FPSs and part of that is the experience of being in a cockpit, which includes managing aspects of the HUD such as health, heat levels, and fuel. It can be a lot to keep track of though. We’re constantly trying to improve things like damage feedback through audio and UI. We’ve added indicators like sound cues and flashes when you damage other players, as well as warning alarms and cracked cockpit glass when your own mech gets damaged. One improvement we made that I really like was that the colours on-screen get very desaturated when you’re low on health, which makes it fairly clear that you might need to retreat and repair yourself.
Would you consider specialised modes that allow players to try out new mechs or upgrades before buying?
We do currently have a trial system for ‘test driving’ new mechs, similar to how League Of Legends lets you try out different Champions. There are always two or three mechs available to play for free, and different ones rotate in and out after a certain amount of time. If you like a trial mech and decide to unlock it permanently (either through game currency or real money), you get to keep any XP or progress you earned during the test drive. We also have future plans to add shooting ranges and training maps where you can test out other things like new weapons before buying them.
How will visual customisation improve? Any plans for a decal system, or to let players create their own designs to make mechs unique?
As more mechs and new content gets added, there will be more and more options for visual customization. Parts, thrusters, paint, and camo schemes will keep being rolled out regularly. We do have plans to introduce decals or things like clan insignias, emblems, etc., but player-created custom designs are a little harder to implement. At the moment I think it would require too much oversight on our end, to avoid offensive material. Contests where player designs get elected and promoted by the community might be a good way to incorporate that though.
Are you looking to implement a server browser, or a more effective matchmaking system to balance sessions?
Yes! We do currently have a matchmaking system in place, and it was just recently updated to be more effective. The matchmaking will be constantly improved on as part of our Beta process. In fact, we intentionally removed the server browser so we could properly test and evaluate the matchmaking system. Unfortunately that has caused a bit of pain amongst the community, since players really want to see the server browser return. But we consider it a necessary step to make sure the game is in its best possible state on our full release. We’ll be putting an improved server browser back in place once we reach our goals in that area.
Have your plans for eSports advanced since the Beta launched? You were talking about how Siege was a good mode for that kind of competitive play.
The competitive scene for Hawken is still really important to us, although our main focus at the moment is providing the best experience possible to everyone playing, including newbies. A big part of that is bringing important features like clan support, better matchmaking, achievements, and social features online. On the e-Sports side of things we will be working on a robust spectator system, better overall game balance, and tournament support. Siege mode has a lot of updates and improvements we will be rolling out, which will bring it more in line with the e-Sports scene. It might take a little more time, but we want to listen and work with our more hardcore audience to make those improvements and allow Hawken to become competitive.

One year in review for World of Tanks division in TAW
A lot has happened over the last year in World of Tanks, many new members have joined us, we have seen new CO's, DO's and a new DC, and we have even restarted the Oceanic battalion successfully. Many people have put many hours of hard work into rebuilding and improving, and much progress has come of it.
The following is a time line of major moments in the last year:
March 2012: Himscar transfers to World of tanks 2nd Battalion from Quake Wars, and is made to be their field specialist.
April, 2012: after some members leaving, MrHazz, the current DC, enlists the help of several members who transfer to help rebuild and take up officer positions. Calidrin, from the European side of Quake Wars division transfers to become the new DO, and ShmeeCow transfers to the American battalion from Quake Wars along with Pwnstarlol of the Battlefield 3 division, to become the respective SO and XO. Geo, the former field specialist, is promoted to CO.
Patamon also transfers from Quake Wars 2nd battalion, and is assigned as the new XO of the European battalion in World of tanks.
May 2012: Himscar is promoted to staff officer in 2nd battalion, and Patamon is promoted to be the Commanding officer. Calidrin soon steps down as DO, and Patamon is promoted to replace him.
MrHazz steps down as DC. His successor, Geo, assigns Aviator as new XO of 1st battalion. Geo later requests a discharge. Subrat takes over as acting DC.
June 2012: A new member, Slug, is promoted to be the XO of 2nd battalion. Himscar is promoted to CO.
July 2012: The NA battalion splits into two. Aandolas becomes its executive officer, and
Aristoclese the staff officer. The two battlions later merge again, with the new XO and SO being ShmeeCow and Steelranger.
August 2012:
Patamon is made DC, Steelranger becomes the new DO, and ShmeeCow becomes the CO of 1st battalion. Prussian knight is promoted to SO.
Vuxta is promoted to SO heading the new oceanic battalion.
September 2012:
Vuxta is promoted to XO as the oceanic battalion grows, and a new SO, Fodderforpanzer is promoted.
Steel Wars season 1 begins after much planning.
October 2012:
The first season of Steel Wars concludes successfully, and awards night is held.
November 2012:
Prussian takes over as CO, after being trained up by ShmeeCow, who steps down.
December 2012:
Steelranger steps down as DO, and Himscar and Slug decide to switch places, with the slug as the new CO of 2nd battalion.
January 2013:
The second steel wars season begins after the holidays.
Two new clan wars battalions are formed under Mrhazz for the North American side, and Shiftk for the European side.
World of Tanks division currently has 162 members.
Holiday Havoc is upon us!
A Junior Cup version of Steel Wars starts with a draft Sunday 11/18/2012. There will be 4 Teams with no more than 5 members each team. This event will last approximately 4 weeks.

After 3 month of planning and almost 2 month of fighting, first season of steel wars is ending.

Kaziya: Welcome to this blog on TAW: World of Tanks
Kaziya: I am interviewing Lt. PickleKillz, Executive Officer for 1st Battalion NA Easy Company, TAW World of Tanks Division.
Kaziya: Thank you to Lt. PickleKillz for taking time to doing this interview.
Kaziya: For those joining our ranks in TAW – World of Tanks, can you bring us up to speed on what Steel Wars is?
PickleKillz: Steel Wars is an internal (meaning in battalion) tournament system. It features platoon vs. platoon battles on a variety of in-game maps. The battles take place on each mandatory event night where new PFCs will also be drafted to a platoon. The tournament is entirely score based, meaning what you do in-game affects your team score for the night and your platoon's overall season score. The winner will be determined by the team with the highest score after the last match takes place.
Kaziya: Is this event a continuous or annual event or one that happens multiple times throughout the year?
PickleKillz: The event is season based. Each season will consist of a number of platoons facing off. The number of platoons is determined by the number of members in the battalion. The number of matches in the season depends on how many platoons there are. The current season (Season 1) consists of 4 platoons and 12 matches. This allows each platoon to play the 3 others 4 times throughout the season. After the season ends there will be a relax period where platoons can grind for new tanks, trading might be allowed, and the command staff prepares for the next season. This period is estimated to be anywhere between 2 weeks to 2 months. We don't want to make it too long, but we want it to be long enough that the platoons can relax and not worry about it for a while. We don't currently know when the next Steel Wars season will be.
Kaziya: Since we are the half-way mark in Steel Wars, how do you feel things are going?
PickleKillz: I feel things are going great. Our members seem to be having a lot of fun with it. We do have our problems and I won't deny the existence of flaws in the system, but we are, of course, in the first season. We as the command staff are hammering away at as many problems as we can and working with the PLs, SLs, and individual members to get opinions and find where we need improvement. We are always asking for comments and suggestions to improve Steel Wars.
Kaziya: Are things being missed that members should be aware of?
PickleKillz: We have some ground rules that most newer members aren't aware of and even some members who have been around awhile may not know. Firstly, gold rounds are not allowed to be used. We do however allow gold consumables, any equipment, and any tank within the tier limits. Another thing is that if the entire platoon shows up to the event then the platoon will get bonus points. This has yet to happen, but I hope it does soon.
Kaziya: I heard a comment during an event that maybe the teams aren't set right for equality in firepower. Do you feel that this is the case or do you feel it’s how members are using their equipment?
PickleKillz: There will NEVER be a match where the teams are equal in firepower. When members are drafted, they are drafted with the tanks they have and what they may get. If 1 platoon has 4 tier 3s and their opponent is all tier 6s then the teams are in Steel Wars terms balanced as a balancing is purely the number of tanks in a battle. The members will need to grind and work hard to get higher tiered tanks for use in the next battle. This is one of the main reasons we didn't require members to "lock in" a single tank for the entire season. Another reason we will never be equal is the skill of players and the PL and SLs. The PL may have members change their tanks to increase their firepower for a specific situation while the other platoon can't. This gives the team with the knowledgeable PL an advantage in the battle. WE WILL have more in depth balancing systems in the next season.
Kaziya: Can you explain the scoring, as the points are not solely based on win or lose?
PickleKillz: Scoring is definitely more than just winning or losing the battle, but even at that, it is still relatively simple. Teams will receive a base score of 5 points per battle won. If a team wins 2 or 3 of the 3 battles in the match then they will "take the match" for the night and receive an additional 5 points. If a draw occurs then both teams will receive 1 point. Now points come down to kills which is the largest adder of points. Each kill is 1 point and each teamkill is minus a single point. As mentioned above, there are an additional 5 points for any platoon that has all of its assigned members show up on time to the training.
Kaziya: This concludes the interview with Lt. PickleKillz, Executive Officer for 1st Battalion NA Easy Company, TAW World of Tanks Division. Happy Hunting, see you all in the field. Sgt. Kaziya, Server Technician, 1st Battalion NA Easy Company, TAW World of Tanks Division.

||| Tank Company |||
Here a list of the best Tier Tanks, RT and TD that is Preferred for TAW Tank Companies.
Special Thanks to ChickenJo for preferred Tanks to be used
~Tier 8 Tank Company~
Heavy/blocker: IS-3, Tiger II, T-32 (AMX50 100 is very nice too, but not as heavy/blocker)
Medium: Lorraine, Type59, T-44, PantherII (dont know if a pershing is any good tbh)
Arty: S-51, SU-14, GWPanther (M12 is ok too, but not the top-choice)
Scout: T-50-2, AMX 13 90, Chaffee (T-50-2=Fast/best scout. AMX+Chaffee=semi-scout backstabbers)
TD: Ferdinand, ISU-152 (T28 might work for base defence, it's too slow to switch positions really, although is nicely armored)
~Tier 6 Tank Company~
Heavy/blocker: KV3 (maybe ARL 44: bad armor=not a real heavy/blocker,
but nice penetration of gun and better mobility)
Medium: KV-1S,T34-85 (Easy8 & VK3001H/P and VK3601H(very slow medium) can work aswell)
Arty: Grille (M7Priest also can help, but it's very weak, su-5 is "useless")
Scout: T-50 (best scout tank in the game for dodging bullets)
TD: Slugger, SU-100, JgdPzIV (they all are not that usefull in tier6 but ok to fill up i guess)
~Tier 4 Tank Company~
Heavy/blocker: B1 (only non-premium tier 4 heavy)
Medium: PanzerIII, T-28, M3 Lee (PzIII and M3 Lee are kind of heavy/blocker aswell in that tier)
Arty: SU-26(3 of those and an arty-range-based strategy=almost sure win)
Scout: T2-LT, BT-2/BT-7, Luchs, Locust (PanzerIII-A should work aswell)
TD: T82, MarderII (T82 is very fast and quite powerfull but no armor, MarderII has incredible viewrange)
