Unfortunately this forum has no poll functionality (not for recruits anyway), so I guess posting is the way to go. Probably better anyway, because that way we can see who prefers what!

The reason I'm interested in knowing what people generally prefer is because as much as I love 4v4s, I think I love 1v1s the most, followed by 2v2, and finally 4v4. Don't like 3v3, and have never done FFA.

As such I wanna improve most on my 1v1, also because 4v4 pretty much suits me and I generally do pretty well in them anyway, but it doesn't make me a good 1v1 player.

Edit by Gamers: Added in your poll.

[poll]

AA3 Server Feedback...

Hey guys!

Just wanted to post this topic, want to know what you guys think we can improve on server wise? He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was
really pissed.

She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!"

The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke
up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box
gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.

Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought
the box back in the house.

She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Bob has been missing since Friday.

Lets try to get at least 10 people across both Batallions within the next month. It might seem like a huge goal to some but with our brilliant DI staff and motivators(including those banned from Recruiting like wolverine) it should be an achievable goal. Than from there we get to up the ante ;)(Yea I am winking again Gundam)

It is always quality over quantity but prefferably the more quality quantity we have the more exciting our battles can be. In Batallion 1 I have a personal goal which is 16 members between all 4 squads. Which kind of creates a strange problem server wise/organizational if its that even and we get even more recruits but that is a problem I want to be able to be able to face! So keep up the good work Batt 1~ we have definitely been piling in more recruits of quality than we have in a long time. I would single a person out but I can't since it is a huge team effort.

Those of you who are interested in joining TAW and were lead to this website either by the forums or our public gaming server. Well what can I say, welcome to our little family here. We might seem large, and insane but we are really a group where everyone knows one another really like a family. A really huge one, where no one is left out of the fun and games. As I say when I shout recruitments, join for the fun and community. We employ real teamwork and coordination and only support sportsmanship. You won't be screamed at by people because you made a mistake, no matter how competetive and intense the situation is. It is this type of competetive community where you will really feel the sweat fall from your face, without the put downs or pressure put on by others which you may find elsewhere.

We have intense internal competitions where every practice night the fight will be different, and intense. On our off days we support fun, interesting, different custom game modes based around classic Bad Company 2 so we will always keep ya guessing ;). While the main dish in TAW(and is part of our mandatory practice scheduele is above) we do support external competetive ladders, and while the rules may be a bit more strict to maintain on the team(more time from your week) it still abides from the other TAW mantras of sportsmanship and community. Even if your not a pro you will be given a spot on the team if you have the dedication and interest. On top of all that we have interesting Meta-Games called Badges, Ranks, and Medals to reward you for any different amount of activities in TAW which go beyond and above that standard. Also for dedication!

Really that is all I have to put in this post so inb4 zomg walloftext. Mayhem, Rinko, Taz if you have anything to add feel free to ;) Lets keep this post as clean as possible. Also thanks @ AA division for giving me idea for this post.

What are you currently listening to?

Everyone has the love for music incommon. Yup, Ned is still around although turning on his -pc is an event these days as most of his time (about 3 hours a day) is spent bashing his drums which is a great de-stress tool! He's also learnt to veg-out in front of a far bigger screen bolted onto his wall and watch crappy UK TV.

Yup. he's still about although off to be sliced up by some crazed surgeon in a few weeks time (maybe the'll find my mojo?)lol. That'll give the old man a bit of time to bum around at home and maybe pop on for a reminder of how to die many times in a hail of virtual bullets from the likes of Shadzzz & Korn, Deaedroth and all the other former TAW dudes that I played with.

Hmmm was actually looking around various forums, and basically everywhere there's complaints about cheese. Now I know there's some folks (and I am probably one of them) who feel like they have to be mentally prepared, and mentally fit, and ready to play the best game ever if they play a 1v1 for the league. These people play less 1v1s than they generally like because they do not feel comfortable chalking up losses in the ladder, when really, you generally win about half anyway.

Still, it happens. I mean, I wasn't lying when I said I am guilty of the same. I have a decent track record in 1v1 so far, I play almost always against "favoured" opponents (usually not even "slightly favoured") - and it gives me extra score for winning, and deducts less score for losing. Which is nice, but it also means I always gotta bust my ass off in 1v1 =) And either way you look at it, I'm still very new, and don't feel comfortable with some things.

Now my plan is to become, most of all, a better 1v1-er. But its easier to play a 4v4 or something, you don't have to play your best, you get to work with your friends. It feels (and probably is) less intense than 1v1, and the chance of getting a useless 8-min game where you get cheesed to death, is a lot smaller.

It can be so hard to defend if you encounter it for the first time, or even repeated attempts where you just haven't found a solution yet. I'm a decent cheeser myself, but the cheesiest I get in league games is pretty much a 4gate, which isn't that cheesy.

So here's the plan. I am EU, but this might be interesting to do for other regions as well.

1v1s, with cheese. Of course cheese isn't cheese if you know it's coming, but I figured, clan matches are a safe environment to learn how to deal with cheeses. I can do the most common Terran and Protoss cheeses, so if you feel you're unprepared for cheeses in 1v1s, hook me up! We'll do some 1v1s, and I'll try to cheese you. If it works, we can go over the replay together and see what happened, so you know how to identify this particular cheese, scout it, and work out a way to avoid/defend it. And then we'll do the exact same thing again, and we can see what solutions people come up with.

I will mix in some regular builds, just so you don't get stuck in preparing to defend a cannon rush that won't come, and you can do the same to me, and help me improve my general and anti-cheese play. This will probably not make us immune from cheeses, but at least we'll be able to stop the most basic ones such as proxy gateway, cloaked banshee, proxy cannon, proxy barracks (arguably a cheese), bunker rush, void ray rush (not really a cheese), and many others.

Now this is just something I would like to do, and have done to me so I can work on both cheesing and anti-cheese myself. And since there's no rankings or anything, we can basically experiment the life out of it.

Hook me up on TS or send me a pm, or heck just post in this here thread, if you're interested! I think especially for newer players who have rarely been cheesed before, this would be a very good thing, but folks like myself can use all the practise we can get as well. So lets cheese! =)

BC2 Battalion 1 Family Guy(&TWL) Edition! 9-08-2010

Alright its time for another edition of the Ninji report, from the front lines is Trisha Taknawa.

Alright... (The only reason some things are not public is that we're still early in the development, so things will be changing.)

The basic overview is this: The competition is at the squad level. Squads will play simultaneously in short rounds (tentatively, 15 minutes each). The map will be set up somewhat like regular Domination2, with some changes. For one, four (or six, TBD) towns (AOs) will pop up to be taken; they'll be numbered, and in the first round, Alpha will have to conquer AO1, Bravo AO2, etc. If a team gets their current AO down, they can also try to complete a nearby side mission for bonus points. At the end of 15 minutes, the round ends and the server is reset. Teams then have 5 minutes to gear up and prep for the next round, and they rotate to the next AO. Each team will go through each AO in one game session. The team with the highest point total wins the session!

Then the next week, the AOs will be changed up, and...lather, rinse, repeat. After a set number of weeks, a Season champion squad will be determined, some changes will no doubt be implemented to the tourney, and the next Season will start.

There's more to it, but thats the basic concept. Some details will be determined in our upcoming playtests. We're aiming to start testing this Sunday night (7pm EDT). And we're going to do some squad rearranging to get to four stout squads. Look for that info soon. Feel free to ask questions or make suggestions here, but understand that we are still finalizing a number of elements. It should be a blast!

Far Cry 2 - Launcher

Hi all,

I'm working on a program called 'Far Cry 2 - Launcher'
With this program it's easy to launch Editor Mods or theGame by only one klick.

But I need help from the Windows XP 32-Bit/64-Bit, Windows Vista 64-Bit and Windows Se7en 32-Bit/64-Bit users to make it compatible.
