I use 2.0 to 2.2 sensitivity in game. I have that G5 Laser Mouse because I read on some sites that laser is supposed to be better than optical. The only difference is...Heck I really haven't noticed much difference.

Laticus I use 3.3 on average but my mouse also has 5 other sens settings as well.  Logitech G5 Laser Mouse to be more exact.  I would suggest find what is comfortable to you.  To change sens settings alot is not recommended once you find what you are comfortable with then practice practice with that setting.  You will increase the more you use it.  I hope that helps for you.

3.3 doesn't sound too high, I guess it depends on how you set up your mouse suite settings. I use my adjustment buttons whenever I need to. I suppose it is really a matter of finding what mouse sensitivity is most comfortable along with a good balance of fps and other settings. It seems as if the games performance itself is almost as important as players' skill. I do realize there is no real substitute for skills though.

Well laticus if you use the mouse sens settings with the G5 you should have one where you can do 180 degree turns by barely moving it.  should be about fastest sens.  this is outside of the normal ingame sens setting.  My FPS is about 220 or so on average.  You are right skills also is another factor which everyone has that builds over time as well.  Always learning something new to learn.

 I have the G5 too and I have it dialed in at 2.6. Will probably go a little lower....

 I uninstalled my drivers... key for some mouse setups to work properly. My sens is set at 1.8 in game.

Forget the "sensitivity number". Do the "360" Test. How many inches across your mousepad pointing at head level does it take to turn all the way around?

It takes me around 12 inches - LOW

 In game, I have it set at .10 ... On my mouse (and everything else,) it changes...

Does anyone know if you can make a bind so your sensitivity changes when you get into a flying vechicle?

Pipboy to doa 360 in 12 inches hmm at my most sensitive placing it takes about 6 inches max if I go fast then 720

I do love the G5 for that capability only problem is I am actually left handed on a mouse.

 I'll have to post my 360 in one minute.... I also have a G5 and have 24.8 oz in the weight cartrige (4x 4.5 and 4x 1.7)

 I just picked up a Razer Death Adder and have had to go all the way down to a 1.1 from my previous 1.8 with the MX518 and G5.
