Hi everyone,

today I read a preview of a game called Left 4 Dead, which is due to be released in November.

It's going to be a Multiplayer shooter game, where one team controls the survivors (or zombie-hunters) and the other team controls "boss" zombies. "normal" zombies will be spawned by the game dependent on the skill level of the survivors.

To me, this sounds like just the game I'd like to play in a team on a regular basis.

So, are there any plans to include this game in TAW when it gets released?

I have this pre-ordered on Steam and can see it becoming my most played game for quite a while once it releases.

4-player co-op is my favourite game mode in RB6V2 (terrorist hunt) which I play a lot on 360.

Those who pre-order on STEAM will be able to get the demo early - November the 6th is the current date for that download.

I'll be clicking the update button all that day because I'm a sad L4D fanboi, kk?

Early access to the demo begins Thursday, November 6 on both the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC. This pre-order promotion applies to all Steam PC pre-orders and all Xbox 360 and Windows-based PC pre-orders from GameStop & EB Games in North America. The demo will feature single player and co-operative modes, supporting 1 to 4 player games.

On November 11 the demo will be made available to all Xbox 360 and PC and gamers, with no obligation to purchase. The demo concludes on November 18, when Left 4 Dead will be made available at retail outlets across North America and worldwide via Steam.

This pre-order promotion is scheduled in concert with the previously announced $10 million consumer launch campaign that spans television, outdoor, print, and online advertising.

 shame the pre-order bonus seems to apply to people in North America only. Also, that text implies the only way to buy it over here is Steam... can anyone confirm or deny that?

When you buy any Valve game on PC you are buying it on Steam, even if you get the box from a store :) You have to register the code to your steam account to activate the game - that's why I buy off steam and not in a shop.

Steam will pre-load the game on your HD 3 days before the release date - just turn your PC on, run Steam and it will do it automatically.

I believe the German version will be censored - there are discussions on the Steam L4D forum about how to circumvent this for those that find censorship offensive. ( I'm glad I don't live in Germany any more - censoring games is just stupid and it would really annoy me having to go to the UK to buy the real game. *shudders* )

The Boxed version WILL be available in Europe on the 21st November, or possibly a day earlier from Play.com who usually ship early. ;) They have not yet announced any pre-order deal for Europe other than the Steam one.

 ok, thank you for all that information. I'm definitely lookign forward to buying it. Personally, I dislike censorship, but i won't go through much trouble to get the uncensored version.

New official 4.5 minute CGI movie of the game - start of one of the campaigns, showcases 4 out of 5 of the 'special' zombies.

 wow, very nice movie :). Makes me loom forward to that game even more.

PC Left 4 Dead Demo is preloading now on my STEAM installation.

Targetted activation time is 7am PST - about 3pm UK.

 L4D looks epic....i hope a whole bunch of us can get to gether and play it :) 

Indeed i hope there is a L4D Division :D blowing away some zombies and nearly getting ripped to shreads by a tanker seems awesome :P

Been looking forward to this game for a while.  Can't wait to get home from school so I can download the demo on both my PC and 360!

 owww... what a shame i don't have the money to preorder right now. I WILL get L4D asap tho, pocket money will be transferred  two days before the game is released.

When you get the demo, could please talk about your experiences, and maybe post screenshots etc.? I'd love to hear about some first-hand experience- and about the system requirements.
