Hello members of TAW, I've played in the Crysis division for a while but then left after I got overloaded with school work.

The reason I'm introducing this game to TAW, is because it is by far the best MMORPG I've ever seen, and well...TAW is the best clan I've ever been with, so I figured the two combined would give me a great gaming experience.

Right now Aion is currently undergoing the closed beta stage in Korea.

About Aion
AION: The Tower of Eternity is a fantasy/sci-fi MMORPG chronicling an epic conflict between three factions: the player-controlled Elyos and Asmodians, and a server-controlled NPC faction, the warlike Balaur.

 Basic Storyline (Lore)

In AION, players must choose a side between two warring factions: the Elyos or the Asmodians. Once their world was whole; a perfect union joined at the center by The Tower of Eternity. When a great catastrophe shattered The Tower of Eternity, it split the world into two halves - and awoke the Balaur, a warring race exiled within the extra-dimensional Abyss. The Balaur now seek revenge on both of these new worlds, sparking an epic conflict. The conflict between those 3 races is about Aether, a substance needed for flying, and the Abyss is the only region where you can find this material in huge quantities. The part you play, the side you choose and the decisions you make will help determine the ultimate fate of AION.

Key Features

• Interactive game play systems
  The actions of each faction on each individual server will eventually trigger consequences, which will then change each server's live environment. No two servers should ever be the same (except maybe at the start).
• PvPvE (Player vs. Player vs. Environment)
  Aion: The Tower of Eternity features an evolving conflict system, which manages the complex relationships and alliances between realms, races and guilds. The system also controls a third NPC faction, the Balaur, who may act as the enemy - or the ally - of players.
• Free flying and flying combat
  Take to the skies and soar over the landscape, with wings that allow your character to access remote areas, travel to different parts of the world - and to engage enemies in aerial combat!

Is Aion free? P2P?

• No pricing has been officially announced yet, but it has been strongly hinted at that AION will be P2P. The industry standard of $15 USD per month is the predicted monthly fee. The actual box will probably cost $40 for a regular edition and $60 for a "Collector's" edition.

Sounds great. Reminds me a bit of Shayia, where you have to choose sites. We are also playing Last Chaos here in the Vanguard division. So, check it out and join us sometime. (no monthly fee - it's free!  )

 I would love for someone to take enough interest to start a team.

It looks like a cross Between WOW and AOC.

 I was there helping set up the AoC division, would gladly be a part of setting up an Aion division or at least a batallion inside vanguard, but definitely going to need more than me.

 Aion having another closed beta event his weekend. Opens thursday at noon (not sure on time zone) Get your key from fileplanet.com or you can, pre-order the game and get a key, also you can buy a key from hotcdkey.com, but with all these other ways I don't suggest it.

 Anyone who is playing on the Siel (Seil?) closed beta server. I created a legion called TAW, since The Art of Warfare is too long of a legion name and special characters aren't allowed to decorate it.

 Maybe this will help us see how many we got playing.

 Fox is any kind of email going to be sent out to look for the interest for this game? I don't generally read forums posts unless I am looking for something, so I assume most of TAW is the same. I think Aion will do well, it has a lot of the WoW aspects built into it. Trading and traveling, and being able to set up private stores. The graphics are way way better and it has no load screens just like WoW. It runs very smoothly, probably takes about the same requirements as guild wars.

I definitely think TAW shold take part in it! :)

Any word on a firm release date?

North American & European Release

NCsoft has confirmed a North American release date of September 22, 2009 and a European release date of September 25, 2009. ^[7]

I also pre-ordered from ebgames which suggests the same release date.

Dates for the Closed Beta Events that are available for all pre-orders and for any who pick up a beta key from fileplanet, or the other randomly offered keys.
