Alien Swarm (Free Game - STEAM)

Downloaded this free game this morning and it's pretty fun. Co-op, top down view fighting your way through swarms of aliens to accomplish your mission (usually getting the sam-hell out of there!). Has various guns, 4 classes, varied loadouts selectable, extra equipment found in some levels, offline practice level and the 'scanner' with beeps from Aliens

Download it, try it - it's FREE - did I mention that?

It also comes with the full SDK and you can make your own maps, etc.

Anyone play it? Im trying to get through the Elona Vision Crystal Mission and I cant do it so I need some help. I just spent at least 8 hours over the last 2 days trying to get it done and I just cant seem to do it. Anyone else with a high level character willing to give it a shot with me? Im a level 20 ranger/elementalist.

This is why I hate MMOs so much, they make them so hard it takes 50 times to get through the hardest missions so you spend a billion hours playing it. No wonder people have thrown their lives away playing them. I only play it for a few days every few months because it usually pisses me off to the point I cant stand it any more. I really would like to get through it though, the story is pretty cool.

took me about 3.5hours to get it downloaded via bittorrent. seems like you don't need the stupid mtx client program to download it. all u need is a bittorrent client to get the .mtx file, and the mtx extract and patch utility to get the mtx file installed.

When I go to play it for practice I get this error

Nivida display driver files from a different (incompatitible versions of the driver have been detected)

Nivida Open GL acceleration Disabled in order to Maintain System Stability.

To resolve this problem, Update the Nivida display drivers to the latest version.

Ok I have the latest an greatest version of my drivers, an I don't want to downgrade drivers. Anyone got a work around for this? I wanna register for the TAW wide competition But I can't even play, let alone get it in the tounie..lol
