Welcome, one and all, to a fresh new internal competition for BF3.

Battleline 6 is a modified risk style campaign between two platoons.

Those platoons are lead by returning PLs, Fuzzy and Nakor Oranges.

Last season Oranges pipped Fuzzy at the post to take the season, of course you know this means war...............

There is a map, a wonderful graphic, sadly not yet available for e to link to. Allow me to describe it.

26 nodes for the 26 possible map/mode combinations of all the rush and conquest maps.

The four corners map/mode has been set by me, and two of these have been taken by the platoons to act as beacheads.

Oranges has taken position in the NW of the map (node 1), Fuzzy the SW (node 14). Only a few territories seperate them........

So, the pair of games played on sunday 24th June.

First match, Oranges went first and attacked node 10, to his SE. He set the node to Operation Firestorm/Conquest.

A lively contest ensued, but Oranges secured the win and thus took the first piece of territory by force of arms.

Second match, Fuzzy bravely attacked node 15, to his NE. Mode was set to Caspian Border, Rush.

Always a hugely difficult task, Fuzzy was only able to knock out B on the first set of Mcoms. The territory remains neutral.

The two platoons, by leaping in the directions they have, have already got within one territory of each other.

Maps, modes and nodes will be announced on the next match night, thursday 28th June.

So as not to spam the fora with results threads, I've decided to just report from here.

Besides, Slamscapes map is linked above.

On thursday 28th June, we began with Bravo Bunies attacking Noshahr Canal, Conquest on node 19.

The newly renamed Citrus Death (TT as was) defended.

A phenomenally tight match ensued, ending with a mere 5 ticket win for CD.

Thus, node 19 is set but remains neutral.

Citrus Death attacked Kharg Island, Conquest on node 16.

Another, almost equally close, match ensued. CD were set to win with a slim advantage until the last couple of dozen tickets. BB rallied fantastically well to deny CD the win.

Again, node 16 is now set but remains neutral.

The next match will be on sunday 1st July. Good luck to everyone.

Another glorious night on the battlefield.......Sunday July 1st.

Tonight, Citrus Death attacked node 9 and set it to Gulf of Oman Rush.

A spirited and lively match ensued, CD succeeding in getting squads into very dangerous positions and thus managing to take the first pair of Mcoms and A of the second pair.

This was followed by Bravo Bunnies returning to node 15 and Caspian Border Rush. They had already taken out B of the first pair in a previous assault.

The initial attack on the remaining A of the first pair was stoutly defended, but it eventually fell. BB then, apparently reinvigorated, stomped through the rest of the Mcoms (including a text book Mcom set and defend by yours truly, Large Format, Vet Langley and Beerstud......a better bunch of arthritic, curmudgeonly old men you could never find) but were finally stymied by a desperate defence of the final Mcom, B of the last pair.

Thus, no territories changed hands again.

However, our first recruiting bonus points of the season were awarded.

Bravo Bunnies will have 5 points added to their final tally to honour Calen becoming PFC. Congratulations to both Calen and his recruiter.

Remember, 5 points represents half a territory (they're ten points a piece). Recruiting may mean the difference between winning and losing the season....so recruit!

The next match will be on thursday 5th July. Good luck to everyone.....

Carnage, carnage everywhere.........and so another fine evening of entertainment ensued.

Bravo Bunnies began by attacking their old nemesis, Caspian Border Rush on node 15.

Once again, despite a torrential attack, the stalwart defence prevailed. The solitary Mcom B of the last pair remained and no map changed hands.

Citrus Death lemonade the most of it attacking Kharg Island Conquest on node 16. They quickly gained the upper hand and, despite a spirited come back by the defence, held on to win the map. Thus node 16 falls into the hands of Citrus Death, opening up more nodes to attack.

Our next match will be this sunday, 8th July.

Good luck to all.

So, sunday 8th July.

Citrus Death kicked things off by attacking node 6 for the first time and setting it as Tehran Highway conquest.

A lively match ensued resulting in a win for CD. Territory becomes CD.

Bravo Bunnies had another go at node 19, Noshahr Canal Conquest. Another enjoyable match ensued, a highlight of which was Texas and myself seeing just how low you can pull your chute.

They won and another territory changed to BB control.

congratulations to both sides.

Sorry for the late post......

Thursday 12th July

BB attacked node 20 and set the mode to Operation Metro, Conquest.

This is a notoriously difficult map to attack, and so it proved. Map remained neutral.

CD attacked node 12 and set it to Strike at Karkand, Conquest (actually Conquest assault as, sadly, we cant run a large conquest mode on this map.)

CD won and thus node 12 now belongs to them.

Next match will be sunday 15th.

Sunday 15th July

Another glorious day on the battlefield........

We began with Citrus Death preparing to attack node 8, having set it to Wake Island Conquest. However, Fuzzy used the first wild card of the season to change the mode for one night only to Rush.

An excellent use of the wild card, this wrong footed CD and although they were able to take one of the first pair of Mcoms they were stymied on the second. No territory changed hands.

In the second match of the evening, Bravo Bunnies took aim at one of CD's owned territories. Node 16, Kharg Island Conquest.

Note that attacking an owned territory is intrinsically riskier than attacking a neutral one, if successful the attacking team gain intel on the next match night, if they lose then they also lose the use of a major resource on that night.

A gritty and muscular match ensued, but BB came out the winner.

Node 16 changes hands and becomes a BB territory.

As BB won an owned territory, they get to know what map, mode and node CD will attack on our next match night.

CD will be attempting to regain node 16, so it's back to Kharg for us next thursday 19th July.

We have just four more match nights remaining in the season. As things stand currently CD has a microscopic lead over BB of just 5 points.

Good luck to all!

I'm so lazy....here's two match reports in one.

Let's start way back last thursday 19th.

We began with BB attacking node 9, Gulf of Oman Rush. However, they also used their second wildcard to change the mode for one night only to TDM

A unique match ensued, which BB managed to win. Node 9 to BB.

The second match had CD attacking Kharg Island conquest on node 16. Yes, that Kharg Island, it's a popular node. A tough, close match was had, which CD narrowly lost. Node remains BB and CD lose a resource for the next match.

A great nights games, but CD came off worst...........

........and so we come to last night. Sunday 22nd.

CD came strong out of the gate attacking node 17, setting it to Grand Bazaar Rush, using a wild card to switch it to conquest and losing helicopters for the night.

An excellent match ensued which CD won handsomely. Congratulations for the bounce back and the node becomes CD.

The second match had BB attacking Damavand Peak Conquest.....well, they thought it'd be conquest. Another Cd wildcard and it became rush.

BB managed to push quickly past the first pair and managed to take B of the second pair before grinding to a halt. Node remains neutral.

So, taking attendence points so far into account, CD lead BB by a scant 5 points (half a territory) with two more match nights to go.

Good luck to all.

And so, the final night of the whole shebang.

CD held 6 territories to BBs five going into the night, but BB had the solitary recruiting points.

Thus, the scores were 60 - 55.

CD attacked first and went for node 2, setting it to Sharqui Peninsula Conquest. A fierce and tight battle ensued, with CD coming out victorious.

CD 70- BB 55

The final round of the season had BB attacking one of CDs territories, node 17 Grand Bazaar Rush, They used their last wildcard to switch the mode to conquest and had at it......an even closer match than the first one saw BB victorious......

As CD lost a teritory, they also lost the points that came with it......

Final score:

CD 60

BB 65

And so, BB wins by the slimmest of margins, coming from behind at the very last minute.

Congratulations to both platoons for an excellent Battleline.
