help? which tier 6 USSR, KV-2 KV1S T-150 ??

Reasonably new player and having a hard time deciding which Soviet tier 6 tank to get.

Gun damage says KV-2 but penetration says no  :/

What to do, Soviet Vets, your advice would be appreciated

so after asking around i went with the kv1-s  

good choice. Kv1s doesn't have much armor, but is quick and gets a big gun.

KV-2 also has it's merits. even though the pen is extremely low, I have seen the derp gun easily eat through any armor, perhaps except for the maus. the derp while having extremely low pen, does very high damage using HE shells. basically, it's an arty gun mounted on a turret.

If you look at tank company's,you see a lot of KV1S.

For my opinion its the best tier6 tank out there.

Try the T-150 then head to the KV-1S. or, whichever ones comes first.

The T-150 has a good gun, better armor than the other two and it moves well.

As for the KV-2, it's got to much of a big head to aim at.

I have all but the KV-1S. I know the other three of them well. The KV-1 is just a tier 5, the other three, KV-1S, KV-2 & T-150 are tier 6.

i got the KV1s  just waiting :/   to build it up to the tier 7 gun, should be pretty cool then :)  I also just bought a type59 , I must say I enjoy both tanks quite a lot :)

i prefer the kv-1s too because its top gun is a combination of both penetration and derp..

I agree with onewingedangel, prever the KV!-S got a lot of medals with this tank.

just an update, I can concur that the KV1-S is the mainstay battle tank IMO at tier6 and below there is nothing better.

I also have the KV2 which I dislike with a passion, it is just WAY to slow in both track speed and turret, yes it has a awsome gun which can oneshot most tier 5s but if they see you first, your stuffed, and try sneaking up on someone with a KV2  ;)

I have gone down the T150 line and I am now at the ST-I teir 9. The T150 is a solid tank with a good gun.

I started down the KV1s route a few weeks ago and I have to say that it teaches you to take careful aim with the top gun but what a joy it is. Long reload but with a rammer and gun laying device it is quite a beast inflicting massive damage. As previously said, clans use them in tank companys for a reason.

Also look further along the tech tree and which teir 10 would you rather have? I prefer a heavy sniper tank so the IS 4 for me. 

KV-1S!!!! RAWR!!

Both IS7 and IS4 line are pretty good, and as far as sniping goes, the IS4 and IS8 are the closest thing you can get to a sniper on the Russian tree, not counting some TDs. Also, if you like sniping in heavies, I would recommend at top tier, the T110E5 as well, with similar gun stats to IS4.

Normally for sniping I would recommend German line, though the Top tier heavies deviate from that role rather abruptly with maus and E100, which are curiously more brawling type tanks, with some special attributes such as damage absorber/blocker, and massive alpha HEAT flinger.

Germans do best for sniping tiers 5-9, with the exception of JPE100 to a degree, and the E50M.

So Tier tens that I think you would like along with the IS4 are T110E5, and the E50M, which not only is a great sniper, but is in a way more like a heavy tank, though still fast.

At Tier 9 I would recommend E75 (of course), IS8 or ST-I, and E50/M103.

At tier 8, seems best to buy a Lowe or T34, which surprisingly for premiums, are among the best heavies at tier 8, at least IMO.
