Application: Skjuludde

Good day ladies and gents. My name is Skjuludde, well that's not my real name but you know just go with it. I'm currently applying to join the PS2 unit of this community and perhaps other parts as time goes on, who knows. I felt it was prudent to write some sort of introduction of sorts so bear with me.

Personal info:

I'm a 22 year old male from Sweden, currently studying information and communication at a university none of you will have ever heard of. I've been around places, you know, studying some in the states and such. Gaming is virtually my life, and apart from school and things associated with it as well as some carefully selected social interactions, it's essentially what I spend my freetime on. 

Gaming info:

I've played a bunch of different games and after having been in the grip of League of Legends the past 1.5 years I've returned to multiple games gaming. Currently playing Guild Wars 2, Leauge still, Planetside 2 of course, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (When I want to get owned), Europa Universalis 3, War of the Roses and such. Depends on mood and stuff. 

Planetside 2 and FPS info:

I never played Planetside 1. I heard of Planetside 2 through I think Totalbiscuit, and cheesed my way in from buying a july issue PCG a week ago (still got a key from them). My record of FPS games are fairly casual. I used to play mostly on consoles, Halo 1/2, CoD 1-5, Tribes Ascend, ArmA 2, BF42/2/3 and so forth. I have some basic skills from it but not from something quite as massive as Planetside 2. It'll be a fun experience getting into that game.

am i mistaken or did you say you got a spare PS2 beta key? because since my ND division comrades are switching divisions for PS2 in masses i figured i'd like to have a look at the game too :P

That unfortunately would be a misunderstanding :(

I wish I had though. There's two ways I know of to get a hold of a key at the moment, besides the registration. Either spam them on twitter and hope for the best or take the shot of buying the july or perhaps june issue of PCG uk, send them the confimation of the purchase and hope they got a key left.

I did the last one just a week and a half or so ago and got my key after about 3-4 days. Not sure if that still works.

ah well :)

the PCG way seems too much of a hassle right now so... i'll just have to wait for my opt-in registration to take effect it seems... but thx for the info anyways :)

does the PCG thing still work, anyway? last I checked they said they weren't sure and there was no confirmation that you'd still get a key from those.

anyway, there's also the option to go for the alpha squad thing, but 40$ are quite a price tag if you don't know whether you want to play it in the end

I took a shot really and bought it from Zinio I believe. Forwarded the confirmation email to PCG and a few days later got my key. 

I got the key the 7th of September

Sent in the email 3rd of September.

I can't tell if it works now but it at least worked for me :)

Otherwise as mentioned pestering them on twitter can help, my friend got one yesterday from their twitter. Emo tweets seem to work best :P
