As more and more people hit 50 with their primary and alt toons and get geared up it becomes glaringly obvious that since the ability to augment any piece of gear was introduced in 1.3 augung your gear is a ridiculously expensive but necessary endeavor. As it stands there are 3 crafting skills that can make augments and augment slots. I'm only going to focus on the most important ones.  Synthweaving can make main force user stat augments, strength and willpower, as well as minor ones like presence. Armormech can make main non force user stars, aim and cunning, as well as minors again like presence. Armstech can make all of those other handy stats, crit surge power alacrity. Also all of these skills can make the augment kits necessary to add the augments to your gear. Right now I have 2 toons that can make augments, synthweaving and Armstech, I'll be doing Armormech soon. Just having these skills doesn't necessarily mean you can make the augments and slots though, in order to make them you need a few things. Fir the slots you need augment kit components. these are gained by reverse engineering crafted weopons armors earpieces and implants over level 45 for mark 6 components as well as mats from main gathering i.e. power crystals scavenged metals etc. For the augments themselves you need normal mats as well as sliced tech parts. Also you need the schematics feom either slicing missions or the GTN since you can only have 2 gathering to go with your crafting it gets tricky. Right now I have one toon with slicing feeding the parts to my crafting toons.

It all boils down to this. I'm going to try and fill the guild bank with as many augs and kits as I can. It will take forever so I'm asking for help. Anytime non auging crafters reverse eng and get augment slot component mk-6 please send them to either rip'tailor or decayne. also any lvl 6 scavenging to rip and lvl 6 archeology to decayne you can spare.

to drive it home you carry 13 pieces of gear average cost of purple mods on the gtn is 70k mk-6 augment slots is 40k and it costs 30k to install the slots. that works out to 1,820,000 to fully augment and 3,640,000 if you carry pve and pvp armor sets. on the other hand if the bank can be filled with augs the total cost to aug one set is 390,000 and 780,000 for 2. Quite the drop off. this will be for everyone's benefit do please help

Right on. I know a lot of people are biochem like me, so we can make the green level 49 implants and reverse engineer them for those mk-6 augmentation components. For us to progress to Denova we have to have everyone augmented - the more people that help out, the better.  Thanks for this post, Dokroman.

Some people didn't even know they could augment. I had a new 50 dexicus tell me that and i helped him with his gear. I think we need some more introduction to raiding/pvping at max potential in boot camp.

Maybe come up with a checklist of things people should/will know by the time they enter taw fully.

questions like: Do you/Is your gear augmented?

Do you know what expertise is?

Do you know soft/hard caps? Also what are they 35%crit/75%surge

I could think of alot more that i realized that some of our members just don't know. I don't blame them as much as i do Biowares horrible tutorials.

I totally feel you on this, NeVaDiE. If people have questions of this sort I refer them to Noxxic.com, but I'm writing a guide on this subject to follow up on http://taw.net/wikis/star-wars/what-to-do-when-you-hit-50.aspx and http://taw.net/wikis/star-wars/operations-faq.aspx.

TBH i don't think most members even know about the amount of knowledge on the wiki's we already have. If it weren't for you linking them here for me i wouldn't have known myself that we already had tutorials and guides written out.

I have a full armormech toon.  I will work with whoever needs stuff to help out with the augs/kits.  But I would also be in need of sliced mats.  I may have a toon on this server with slicing...but i can't remember...the whole merger thing has thrown me off a little :P

I also have all of the purple Armstech augs and a ton of the basic raw materials.  The only part that I don't have a lot of is the expensive one...figures huh?  If you need one of the Armstech augs just send me the Advanced Neural piece and I will bang it out for you ASAP.  My comp has a pretty decent double proc rate so you might end up with a twofer.
