Vanguard is happy to announce that Arma III has joined the Horizon division.
As a Horizon team it will not be open for general transfers although a few will be allowed to ensure we have some staff to get the team set up.
Anyone with any questions or looking to transfer to help out should contact DukeNukeM who will oversee the team or alternately can contact any of the other Vanguard staff.
Good luck...but isn't this the same as Arma2? Wouldn't the Arma2 folks just move on into Arma3 (or double dip in both), not quite sure why a new team have to be made, :-p
i have to agree, you should just make it AM 4 or something and change the ARMA II division to ARMA division.
Arma 3 is completely different from Arma 2.
Yes...Arma 3 is a different game...But the majority of Arma 2 players will be moving over to Arma 3 once the game is fully finished and stable.
Yay!
Lets all put on our Yes hats and throw out the No hats :D WooHooo! ARMA 3 IS IN TAW! Aaw yeah.!
I assumed ARMA3 would be in VIcorps.
@Eifer, i love how you think :)
ARGAR, all new games start out in Vanguard. No exceptions :)
Nice! Keep up the good work vanguard! Oh, and we all love Eifer :D
we alway love eifer.
I don't like to be a Negative Nancy, and I do love you Eifer, but I'd like to keep my No hat on for as long as the game is still in alpha stage. It has almost no content! Are you just going to play the same tutorial missions and showcases over and over? And why can't the Arma 2 crew just handle Arma 3, a lot of preparation work has already been done! It seems to me that if we want to make the transfer from Arma 2 to Arma 3 as smooth and stable as possible, we would need to shift everybody at the same time when the game has been in Beta stage for say, a month, and have everybody retain their positions to create as little confusion as possible. Arma is already a very stable division, let's not make a mess out of it by swapping everything around. I accept and understand that Arma has to go through Vanguard, but we are ready and do not need to be spun up!
Love the look and the promise but the updates are slow...The game isnt released yet. I understand to put some focus on it to be read for launch, but it isnt nearly near launch. On a cool note, you can add alot of arma 2 to arma 3 =)
I kind of agree with blue there eifer. As much as we do love you, The whole Arma division is raring to go with Arma 3 and it would be well confusing to have everyone transfer to a complete new game when mostly all Arma players will leave Arma 2 behind to go with the bigger and better Arma 3. King scuba has a little bit of a point there and plus obviously keep all battalions as they are because no doubt command staff of all Arma would make it a smooth transaction.
But of course Blue and Crypsis. As of right now im not so much thinking about the content - or lack thereof - in Arma 3, but more that Vanguard is now preparing to receive the game.
Knowing Kingcheese, I'm fairly certain that he won't be splitting anything up or reforming something that is not in need of it. He's done this before, albeit on smaller scales.
I obviously can't tell you all exactly how its going to go gown as I'm not VC nor VG DC, but I'll eat my Yes hat if he doesn't let Arma keep its staff as is or at least the main structure, DC, DO, CO, PL, SL.
Anyway, I'm sure that Felix are working with Vanguard on this so there won't be too much confusion etc. Just stay tuned for inter-division news on the subject :)
From my experience spinning up the ArmA II Division there isn’t another FPS game that brings out the absolute best of TAW. This isn’t your FPS game that’s all about twitch skills and head shots! Rather ArmA is about using teamwork, strategy, tactics and battlefield awareness to complete missions, defeat your enemies and ultimately survive the battle. The community content is unprecedented, if it's not already in the game, someone will create it. ArmA 3 battles that span across air, land and now sea will be a welcome next step by the Armaholics in TAW! I'll be by often, always cursing NoCents for my ArmA addiction and looking for some hardcore combat alongside my TAW Brethren!! PS, You have to be Lucky to survive a mission in which DukeNukem is flying : D (Puns intended)
Well Put Hook.....And don't worry guys...The majority of the command staff (and members) will be migrating over with the exception of a small minority. This is but merely a technicality to get the game up and running in TAW once final release is launched. Other clans are already setting up servers and what not. So this is a way for us to lay the foundation and get recruiting going to start the game up as soon as possible.
Hook, you are welcome to join us since you were there for arma 2 spin off team while you were CiC
Whether we wait until it is firmly in beta or start it up now, there will be people not wanting to switch. This way, we can have a firm groundwork set up for those that eventually make the decision to move to Arma 3.
