Vanguard - 21st September 2012 Since the last update on Vanguard we have to closed down Secret World and flipped the switch for Counterstrike Global Offensive and Guild Wars 2 to full spin up teams .At the same time Planetside 2 has been added as a horizon team. For more details please see articles from the teams below:-Dota 2The Dota division within Vanguard continues to experience exciting growth that's unmatched at the moment by any other division. At 122 members, we sit as the fifth largest division within TAW. With the exciting growth, it's given us the ability to offer multiple different inhouse games on our match nights catering to a wide range of skill. Our EU and NA battalions are both incredibly strong at this point, with the EU almost having a complete command stuff like the NA. We're still looking into spinning-up an OC battalion before launching out of Vanguard, but that is of a lower priority compared to ensuring quality in the other two battalions.MAJ MasterOdin [DA SUL]Counter Strike Global OffensiveSit-rep CS:GOThe NA side is doing well and is currently in the lead with 8 active members. The EU side is lagging behind a bit with 4 active members, bringing the unit to a total of12 members. Having people that knows the ropes while in Vanguard is way OP and their dedication to TAW and CS is already showing.Server wise we had some issues on the EU side during the test phase, that have since been resolved. While EU runs one server of each game mode,The NA side have a kick ass server of awesome that runs custom maps.Special thanks goes to Toast for being instrumental in getting NA a server.Well played, Sir!Here is our server list as it presently stands:NA Server:NA Custom IP: 68.232.177.33:27025EU Servers:EU Classic Casual IP: 91.192.38.52:287215EU Classic Competitive IP: 91.192.38.52:27216EU Arms Race IP: 91.192.38.52:27217EU Demolition IP: 91.192.38.52:287218If you like to know about spinning a game up, talk to some members from way back when, learn what DirtyDozen is best known for or just play some CS:GO. Since its arrival it has been plagued with connection and server issues. With patches and updates coming from the publisher on a regular basis, the game is still a little buggy. With connection losses and friends not being displayed, many players have abandoned the PC platform and have gone to playing on consoles, Xbox or PS3. With the creation of the Ghost Recon Future Soldier Division, TAW has seen many players join its ranks. Weimauler, the Spin-Up Leader, was instrumental in assembling a senior staff leadership that will continue to expand the Division with the TAW Community. The Division has grown and continues to grow, in strength and talent with 43 new TAW/GRFS members and several seasoned veterans. The Division is currently in Vanguard and will soon be released as a full Division. With its release, the senior staff has planned a Division Tournament with the NA and EU Champs playing for a Division Championship. The Tournament will be set-up in a fashion as to have all Fire Teams play each other on both NA and EU Battalions. We anticipate a great deal of teamwork, communication and solidarity between all teams and players and look forward to our launch from Vanguard.Guild Wars 2The Guild Wars 2 division has exploded recently with the EU division recruiting like crazy the NA division has recently transferred servers from northern shiverpeaks to devonas rest. The move was difficult but in the long run the division believes that we will be able to recruit more members and grow the division.LTC TheGame - SULMinecraftMinecraft - The Story So FarIt has been a busy and succesful few months for us. Our core launch team has been in place, working hard behind the scenes, for some time now - and I'm continually impressed by how dedicated they are to making this start-up Division a long term success. As a group, we've planned, designed and built a unique Spawn world from the ground up. We've launched a dynamic economy for players to trade their hard-mined resources. Events are taking shape with PvP arenas, Spleef and Chicken-Riding (yes, really!). We're even developing our own unique game ideas and building those as well.Of course, all of this physical work would be nothing without the admins and plugin developers making all the bells and whistles work! They've set up our servers, fielded hundreds of questions, written custom plugins to help events run more smoothly - and made the things we thought too difficult to achieve, a reality. Finally, to our community; members from transfers and others via friends-of-friends. A thank you to all of you for helping us get off the ground, testing (and breaking!) our early ideas - and having the patience to stay around and help us fix them. We'd like to invite other TAW members who are avid Minecraft fans to help us test our events and practices during these early weeks and months. I know of one game that’s like this, and it’s called Planetside 2. What is Planetside 2? Planetside 2 is a Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter (MMOFPS) that combines the massive amount of people onto a single server, with the competitiveness of a first person shooter. To give a taste of what you would expect of Planetside 2, you have your friends are on the front lines holding a battle line against overwhelming odds, all seems lost when you look to the sky’s and see a fighter/bomber squadron in the hundreds coming in to reinforce you and your team, or see a massive armor convoy roll to deal with pesky tanks and infantry. While the game boosters a massive scale, it also offers a highly detail strategic part of the game as well.In Planetside 2, you can form a squad of twelve people, and if you have more than twelve, you can form four squads into a platoon with added depth with their own separate voice communication channel in the game. To also add to the strategic depth, you and your faction fight over territory with their own advantages to your faction, whether it’s to allow Main Battle Tanks (MBT) to be built on the front lines, or supply resources to buy assets to be used for your team. These territories also have several ways to be defended and captured by your team. Some are just as simple as going up to the capture point and its yours, while larger facilities have several steps you need to take before you can capture them, like taking out shield generator to allow accesses into the base, etc. All of this added depth to keep the game going since there is no change in round or new rotation since the game map is a massive 8x8 km large. Currently, the game has one continent which should boost to three by the game is launched. So I bet you are wondering “So how much is this going to cost me?” and the answer I will give is zero. Yes, Planetside 2 is a free to play game. Everything I have described to you will be available to you from day one of playing the game. So how would someone go about to being able to play it now? Right now, the game is in closed beta with only people selected to test the game, or, someone got a key from a friend so they can play. It is uncertain when the game will be open beta, but all I can say is to patiently wait for when it will be announced for open beta.Well, I hope you have enjoyed reading this has sparked interest in you to learn more about the game. From the enlisted ranks of the BF3 division, we find HooD, a philosopher and strategist who has earned his stripes with TAW both in game and out of game through an analytically and purposeful approach. In the EU battalion, he made a name for himself by bringing TAW into a major tournament held by gaming computer giant Alienware and further set himself out as a leader through wise tactics on the field. His best trait, however, is how he always kept the focus on the number one reason we all play, having fun
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What led you to join TAW over other BF3 clans?
The structure mainly. I found it while randomly browsing and was impressed by how TAW organised it self and hoped that there would be a similar level of organisation in a matches with specific roles and what not.
A Sergeant Major in the EU Battalion, you have made a few waves. What about TAW as a clan has helped you stand out as a player?
Well, I role with the 870MC shotgun, slugs, iron site and flash supp. Also C4. I think the real talent that keeps coming up from all players is team work. But its not as easy as just being on mic, you have to be able to communicate an idea quickly and with people who will find the information useful. I like playing the role of strategist, and in the new maps I want to learn how to use the transport and scout chopper, moving troops around that map effectively is going to be fun and challenging.
One of your most standout commendations is your work with an external competition involving Alienware. In fact, this effort earned you a Medal of Excellence. Tell us a little about your involvement with this event...
Well, a friend in real life who was also joining TAW pointed it out to me, I showed a few of the guys and they agreed that it was a cool idea. So I signed us up and mentioned what matches we had a week in advanced in training matches. It was 8v8 Conquest, we had not to much in the way of an official team, but 16 players where registered on the website, it was more just regulars and and a number of floaters, and we nearly always had enough players to play every match. The attendance of other clans was something of a problem tho, and unfortunately quite a few matches where forfeit wins (we got a surprising amount of points out of that). In the end we didn't win, but we had a lot of fun. We met a few good clans along the way and got the TAW name out there.
Nine months in TAW has seen you climb the ladder in a very competitive BF3 division with over 100 members, what do you feel makes TAW successful in the Battlefield 3 environment and why do you feel you thrive in it?
Well I think most of the time people just want to play battlefield. Its and the regular meet ups make playing games far more fun.
Why do you feel that BF3 is a "division apart" from the others in TAW, what makes BF3 special?
The amount of people you can have in a game is impressive, and 32 v 32, clan vs clan, matches are intense.
Away from the keyboard now, tell us a little about yourself?
I am a philosophy student living in Colchester, Essex but I'm a Londoner at heart
Outside of gaming, what other hobbies fill you time?
I do quite a lot of table top RPGing, I also am a student and live the student life which take up most of my time.
If you had one word of advice for TAW's newer members, what would it be?
Have fun, simple as.
Few members were around to see Kenisama's first day in TAW. Fewer still have forgotten what it's like to play along side him. A military man with a true appreciation for the kind of community that TAW provides, Kenisama is one of the last remaining members of the very first TAW game. Q of the newsletter team took a couple of minutes to get to know this TAW veteran.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other than being a military man with eight years in TAW, what makes you, you?
I always hate answering this types of questions, always makes me feel like I am bragging about myself. At the very core of everything I am a very laid back person both on and off line, but one thing I can say, is that when there is work to be done, it is going to get done to the very best of my abilities. If I don't know how to accomplish a task, I will find a way and figure it out.
What are some of your hobbies and goals outside of gaming?
Outside of gaming? Is there such a thing?
Outside of gaming I enjoy going for runs and recently I starting playing paintball whenever I can. It's more life-like FPS lol
You have been in TAW almost since its inception and in fact were a member of the very first division in TAW. How do you feel TAW has changed for the better over the years?
I initially joined the Joint Ops Division, but quickly learned my graphics card couldn't handle the huge maps, so I requested to a transfer to Delta Force [DF] Divison playing Blackhawk Down. I take credit, with NoCent's help, in dubbing it the "Old Guard" Division. The thing about TAW that has kept it separate from other "clans" out there, is that it has held onto a transitional mind set. It may have started out as a one game clan, but it allowed itself to evolve and grow into an "online community," a place for strangers to become friends and share in the gaming experience. Instead of the lawlessness you get when playing solo via Xbox Live/Playstation Network where I have to ensure my kids can't hear what is being said. The paramilitary structure used in TAW is the best I've seen implemented outside the Army itself, I'm sure without it, TAW would have failed long ago. And that just gives credit to the amount of hard work and dedication put forth by those in all levels of the chain of command.
You have earned an astonishing 16 medals, 6 tabs, and 6 badges in your time in TAW, other than those awarded for you real life military service, which accomplishment gives you the most pride?
Wow, I haven't really kept track of those for sometime now lol. But I actually do have a medal I have very proud of, not just for my accomplishment, because it wasn't something I was able to do alone, but the pride is more for the team that gave me the opportunity to earn the TAW-Wide Tournament Medal.
It happened shortly after I had transferred from DF Division to the BF Division to play Battlefield 2. TAW had just announced plans for it's first TAW-Wide Tournament with the F.E.A.R. Combat game since the game's multiplayer was just released for free. Each Division was tasked with forming an 8-person team to compete in a double elimination style tournament. I immediately volunteered for the team and before I knew it, I was officially placed in-charge of the BF F.E.A.R. Team. We went undefeated all the way to the final match against Central Command team which we ultimately loss, but we had several epic moments throughout the entire tournament and gave the CC guys a run for their money.
This tournament lead me to be picked to run an "All-Star" team with the best players from each Division to play versus the tournament winners, yes we lost again lol. Because of those actions however, I was promoted to Major and was chosen to be the next CO for a Battlefield 2142 Battalion. It is a simple case of volunteering and opening the doors to other opportunities.
As a long time TAW member, you have been in several divisions and known CiC's before they were even DO's. What do you feel makes TAW different that other clans and what is it about TAW that keeps you coming back year after year?
Ha, in my ramblings I sort of already answered this one, but since you mentioned CiC's. Most clans run a sort of dictatorship, by which I mean, the founding member(s) is in-charge and typically stays in-charge, "my way or the highway" (at least in my experience before joining TAW). TAW adopted the term "online community" some time back, I love this term. TAW is unique by the fact that any member currently in TAW that has enough dedication and commitment to TAW could in fact, become a future CiC and that simply blows my mind and exactly why I love the term "online community." Because its the community that drives TAW and has kept it on track for years and will continue pushing it for years to come.
What makes the BF3 division a cut above the rest in your opinion?
You have a wide range of "characters" within the BF Division, ranging from wise guys, amazing leaders, and even those who can explain to you the inner details of the virtual physics of the BF3, an encyclopedia of knowledge I tell you. And then you got the guy who never let you forget that you were an Army Recruiter before... yes I'm talking to you Irish! Not to mention all of our internal matches and non-stop campaigns. Basically, there's never a dull moment here in the BF Division... [Disclaimer: expect for when we make time for dull moments lol]
What other games do you occupy your time with other than BF3?
Primarily I play FPS games, currently the other games I play occasionally are ARMA II, Diablo 3, and I just picked up Mass Effect 3 on sale, I have MW3 on the PS3. Coincidentally if you TAW guys or gals out there play on PS3 or Xbox, hit me up!
PSN: Kenisama

Is there anything you would like to say to TAW as a whole?
Shoot, Move, and Communicate! And remember above all else, it's just a game, have fun and enjoy what you do!
Kenisama
Everything is big in Texas. That includes the personality of one Texas Hillbilly who currently sits in the command chair overseeing the Battlefield 3 division here in TAW. Dedicated, loyal, and proud, Tex moved very quickly up the ranks earning rank, privilege, and the respect and admiration of his fellow players. QuinoaAOC with From The Battlefield got a few words in with this larger than live DC.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not only a gamer but a firefighter, marksman, rancher, and bonafide cowboy...what else is there to know about TexasHillbilly?
My chosen profession is in Emergency Communications as a 911 Communications Supervisor. I direct fire, police, and ems crews to emergency situations. I have been doing that job for 11 years now. One of the questions people always ask is "what is the most interesting call you have ever taken?" I never know what to say because I just think of it as doing my job. I am a Houston Texans Football fan. I also like to hunt, fish, and compete in BBQ cook off competitions (which I have trophies to show for).
Outside of Battlefield 3, are there any other games you like to occupy your time with?
Sure, I play Sid Meier's Civilization V, GTA 1-4, Killing Floor, L.A. Noire, Mafia II, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Borderlands, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 just to name a few.
Guns, big trucks, and NASCAR...tell us a few of your favorites from each of your chosen non-gaming related hobbies.
Guns - One of my favorite guns is my side by side 12 gauge shot gun, 2nd favorite is my Springfield XD 40 Cal. handgun. Big Trucks - I am a Ford Diesel owner, what else is there to say lol. NASCAR - #88 Dale Jr. all the way. Going to the races for a weekend is an experience in it's own.
On to TAW, you have quite an impressive list of accomplishments despite only a year with the clan; six medals, eleven tabs, and three badges plus a DC position with a Lt. Colonel rank. How did you accomplish so much in such a short time?
I have to credit that to growing up in the fire service and respecting the chain of command. Being organized in whatever it is you want to do can improve your standing with the organization which you wish to serve. I joined TAW in August 2011 in the Bad Company Division. I immediately showed interest in wanting to help start up the BF3 division, so I became a DI in my first month of being a member of TAW. About a week after the game launched I became the Executive Officer for the North American Battalion. I implemented live platoon drafts with Google Documents for the battalion. I was promoted to Division Officer in March of 2012. Shortly after I was promoted to Division Commander in April and currently hold the same office. I believe in supporting other members in leadership with whatever they need to keep the Division's population happy and fun. I recently proposed a Server Technician position to serve under the Server Administrator. The position is much like that of a DI or TI, it gets members involved in helping with the day to day running of servers and starts the servant leadership training off in the technical aspect for a division.
Of all the personal awards you have earned in TAW, which are you most proud of?
I would have to say the Medal of Excellence is the award I am most proud of.
For his attitude and disposition. Texas is a shining example of what everyone in TAW looks for in a leader. His willingness to help, his efforts when not required, and his attitude when any of the above may not even be acknowledged are paramount to servant leadership within TAW.
SuperTreky
A well-deserved award. Many congrats, Texas!

You have been in command of the BF 3 division almost since its inception, what accomplishments has the division as a whole made that you feel earns you the most bragging rights?
The Division as a whole has stood together through a few bumps as we have progressed and everyone has learned valuable lessons in those situations. We have several external competition teams that represent TAW in both NA and EU tournaments across the world and they always prevail in the top of the ranks with other gaming communities. Our Battalions also team up and take on other clans from time to time and we share the TAW experience when we play the other clans.
What is it about BF 3 that you feel makes it a successful division both in TAW and in the world of Battlefield 3?
I credit the success of the division to the members of the division. The people that show up in TS to play in an organized manner, and apply the same tactics as the other person in TS. The staff works hard to come up with fun and interesting new event seasons for the members, and schedule scrims with other clans so our members can go out and show off what they can do.
What do you feel sets TAW apart from other Battlefield 3 clans?
There are a lot of other clans out there that play Battlefield 3, but none of them are anything like TAW. I think the teamwork, communication, and organization within the division is what sets TAW apart from other clans.
What do you feel sets BF3 apart from the other divisions within TAW?
BF3 is one of the larger divisions in TAW, we have some members that have tons of knowledge to share with the division, and members that have been in TAW for a very long time. The Battlefield Division is unique to TAW because the members strive to improve both in game and through leadership responsibilities everyday. Members and staff are constantly coming up with new ways to improve things and become more efficient as time goes on.
Do you have any parting words for your clanmates?
It has been an absolute honor being part of the Battlefield Division from scratch to where it is now. I hope for a long and prosperous future for the division and keep up the great work everyone. If anyone has BF3 and wants to join in on practice nights come on down and check in with the staff, you are more than welcome to come play with us.
Levetron Mech 5 is a gaming keyboard released by the American company Azio.
They are rather unheard of in Europe and Asia/OC since they do not exist there, but they have started to come more and more.
Info about Levetron Mech 5:
Producer: Azio
Key Swithes: Mechanical (Cherry MX Black)
Weight: 1,4 kg
Price: ~$95
Levetron is not a standard gaming keyboard, and that is both bad and good.
It have most of the standard things we are used to see on a keyboard, but also some new things.
On the upper right corner it got a volume wheel that higher and lower your volume. Behind it there are 2 USB connections for fast connections.
On the left side there is 5 macro buttons that can be customized by using the drivers that comes with the keyboard.
The memory allows for 2 macro banks so that gives you up to 10 macros to record for your gaming etc. It does not have build-in memory so it is limited to 10.
You can also turn of the "Windows key of doom" so you won't get disturbed when gaming.
One bad thing is that you have to use 2 USB connections to make this keyboard to work, and that is so that you will be able to push down more then six keys at the same time. This however does not work on Mech 5 and it starts loosing keys around 4-5 pushed at the same time.
Mech 5 Does not have a NumPad installed on it but it does have a removable NumPad that is included with the keyboard. They have a very interesting way of connecting it by lifting the plastic piece on the side and lock your NumPad into it. You can either have it on the normal side as a NumPad or on the left side to use it as a macro pad.
Another interesting thing with the Mech 5 is the rail on the top of the keyboard, just above the "F1-F12" keys. Here you will be able to put different gadgets for the keyboard.
As of now there is only a 6 button macro pad that you can connect and it is also included with the keyboard.
Sadly the keys for the macro pad is not mechanical but "rubber dome" keys that makes them feel kind of rubbery and not at all like the normal keys.
Mech 5 is using Cherry MX Black switches that is fairly harder to push down compared to the Cherry RED MX switches that is getting popular in the gaming community.
This generally is no problem while gaming but for typing and such it can be heavy after some time.
They have also included a "Spill protection" so if you accidently spill some water on your keended.
MY OPINION
Keyboards are mostly about taste and ergonomics that fits you. I for one love the Cherry RED MX switches and would never use the Cherry MX Black ones.
Most other brands do allow you to choose between different switches, but Mech 5 only comes in Cherry MX Black.
It has a lot of cool and fun gadgets with it but nothing that intrigues me. The macro pad was plastic and the volume wheel is to soft for me.
The "Spill Protection" is a very good idea and it gets a huge plus with me since I lost my G19 due to spilling tea on it. So everything that prevents that is good in my book.
To the Conclusion:
Pros:
• Spill Protection
• Removable NumPad that is flexible
Cons:
• Only Cherry MX Black switches
• No internal memory for macros
• Rubber-Dome buttons on the Macro pad
• "Ghosting" problem
• Expensive for it's quality
Once again Shadowmage has come forward with a review of a low budget indie game for the enjoyment of all. He filters through the broken gameplay and shody graphics of the gaming world to find those diamonds in the rough that get it right. This time, he touches on Home, a psychological point and click thriller with more twists and turns than dollars in its budget:
Fear is a potent emotion, one that makes the body tremble and andrenaline rush through its veins. A popular sensation, it's been spread across all forms media in movies, novels, and games to help people to get a little jump here and there. Most use cheap jump-scares, a baddy jumping out from behind a bush or something hidious and malformed creeping toward the hero. Rarer these days in cream of the crop, psycological horror. Home captures the experience perfectly. You start alone, in a strange house that is not yours, with a murderer on the loose and unable to remember much of anything. While it sounds a bit cliche', the point-and-click game starts to turn into something else. The game's outcome changes based on what you choose, see, and find. And the uncertainty of what will happen is part of the fun. While playing, I had no idea if I would confront the murderer, or if he/she would creep out from behind me and turn me into a victim. As you explore the small world of Home, you solve several puzzles and find clues as to what is "really" happening. I'd give examples of what could happen, but that would just ruin the fun, and it might not even happen for you. For less than $3 on Steam, you can experience the unqiue and replayable game that sent shivers down my spine in the middle of the day
AO is the oldest active MMO division in TAW. At its helm is Lt. Col. Booklet, an officer who has watched over AO as it grew out of one of it's lowest points back into one of the absolute best guilds to raid with on all the North American servers. The crew in media caught up to Booklet to discuss AO and his tenure as DC.
What is something your fellow members might be surprised to learn about you?
I belive to not be anything, im pretty open about anything and everything, we're a family in TAW there to support one another in all ways possible.
What hobbies do you keep outside of TAW and gaming?
Do i have life? That's the question lol. I coach junior soccer A grade team. good team finished 2nd over all this season then do puzzles with the lady sounds fun aye
You have a fairly unique tattoo, TAW on your forearm, what led to you inking the clan on yourself permanently?
As I said before, we're a family in TAW. It represents the friendships I have made over the years that will be life long botherhoods/sisterhoods in my book. We're there for each other in game and RL, visit each other no matter where we are to go to a baseball game/fozzeball, when I see that tatoo it reminds of those I have met the marks we have made. In MMO land we play for 6-8 hours a day together. It's a family, The ink it's for them.
It's been just over a year since you were placed in charge of AO, what changes have you made to the division to keep the historically volatile Age of Conan crowd stable?
Hard question. We focused more on what brings people in. Gear, raid gear that is, T1-T2 is now pointless. All players want T3 gear so we push for it. Now we're completing T3 reasonably easily hope to be in T4 within a few months, we also no longer hold people hands. If some one is making a mistake they are informed how to correct it. It's up to them otherwise they do not raid as 1 person can make 23 people wipe, we push for all 24 to be on a positive mind set to succeed in game.
Outside of yearly awards, four medals, only one of which is a Gump, have been attached to your file since joining TAW. Which one of these are you most proud of and why?
I belive that would be the Commanders Award. Pushed hard for it. To make TAW a top raid guild and the top guild on the server...couldn't be prouder of all involved.
Now fill us in on the Gump medal...how did you ban your CO from TS?
easy he deserved it ........
Well he got ghosted in TS. I went to kick his ghosted account and happened to click ban luckly enough
MMORPGs have a history of falling apart when things get rough, however, Age of Conan has been a low population game with a bad reputation almost since yet launch. How has AO managed to survive so long despite all the drama that plagues and typically kills MMORPGs?
We're the longest and oldest guild in the game, that we accomplished by pushing the family enviorment being there for one another. That's kept us were we are.
What plans do you have for the AO division in the future?
Tier 4 raiding. We have the strats, just need few more geared for it
Any parting words for the rest of the TAW brotherhood?
Be TAWSOME
One of the top leaders in AO is also one of the newest. 2Lt. Dimchik has held his position as a Staff Officer for just a handful of weeks but he is already making his mark as a key member of the AO leadership team. From The Battlefield got a few questions in with AO's resident ambassador and here's what he had to say.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Russian IT director, living in Canada, fluent in three languages...quite impressive. What else is there to know about the man behind the callsign?
I have a charming accent, love to drink tea and cook russian food.
What hobbies, other than gaming, do you dedicate your time to?
I also like fishing, martial arts, sci-fi movies and books.I really dedicate myself to my work, same deal with hobbies. I have an extensive library of books and DVDs. Unfortunately this summer I didn't get to go out for fishing much, because of very hot weather in Canada,
Twice you have picked up Outstanding Volunteer medals and in just over ten months you have taken over as Staff Officer. You also seem to "fill in" as the face of AO to the rest of TAW when TAW wide events come up. Of everything you accomplished with TAW, what has been the most rewarding?
Most rewarding for me is working together succesfully for a greater goal, like defeating the Age Of Conan's main villain Thoth Amon. We are standing at his door and will take him down togethe very soon! But of course becoming #1 guild on the Tyranny serever, even for a short time, was extremely exilerating, and so was succesfully defending our battlekeep.
What do you feel has been the biggest part of Age of Conan's success in TAW?
Biggest part of Age Of Conan's success in TAW is the team we've got, they are constantly pushing the guild forward and helping each other to get better at the game and also to have a great time playing it.
What brought you to join, and remain in, TAW over all the other guilds that are available on AO?
I was not looking for a guild initially, getting spammed by invites from other guilds since lvl 5 , I've decided that I'll wait for a guild that will really help me progress in game and will provide a friendly atmosphere.. When I was recruted to TAW by Booklet, I finally felt right at home!
What do you feel sets AO apart not only as one of the last remaining guilds in AO from launch but as an MMO that has survived destruction numerous times as a TAW division?
It's all in the people we've got. We are like one big family and everyone is always helpful and tries to do do their best to enhance the gaming experience for others, either by advice or by teamig up for challenges etc.etc.
What do you feel other TAW divisions, particularly other MMO divisions, could learn from AO?
Can't speak for other divisions, but we have great spirit of friendship and camaradery in our division, that I am very proud of.
Some people have said that Age of Conan is a game in decline yet AO continues to thrive with new content and solid membership. What makes AO able to succeed when their game is supposedly in decline?
As long as we still have our goals and a great team - this game will still be fun for us, even if all other guilds leave the servers! Age of Conan is a very immersive game with great combat system and beautiful graphics that has been suffering from lack of attention from the developers, who have all but abandoned it for their other game "The Secret World",
Do you have any parting words for the rest of TAW?
Never surrender! Always move forward, towards a common goal and work together to achieve it! Have fun!
