Good day everyone, I’ll be running you through a short introduction of what Smite is. Currently Smite is in Open Beta and is planning on releasing later this year. Currently in the game there are 32 different gods to play as, from different pantheons such as Greek, Norse, Chinese, Egyptian, and even Mayan with plans for adding more over time. It’s a 3rd Person-over the shoulder Massively Online Battle Arena; (what a mouthful), that is perceived as the black sheep of the MOBA genre, however currently it’s had a better beta phase than the competition. In the game there are 4 different game modes currently, however you can create custom games with different options ranging from making picks random, to changing starting level and gold meanwhile the official game modes are.
Arena – A 5vs5 game on a smaller map that is won through tickets.
Conquest – The standard 5vs5 game on the original map, the objective is to destroy the enemies minotaur however you have to kill their towers to get to it.
Domination – An Egyptian themed 5vs5 game where you fight to control 3 different points, holding more than the enemy results in them losing tickets.
Joust – A 1vs1 game mode on a medieval themed very tiny map.
And then finally the Match of the day, A game mode which can be anything.
Smite just got done with their Pax $10,000 invitational event and more events like this will be coming. Sometime in the future the smite division will be doing tournaments like this when we get the numbers for it, however it’s not going to be for such a big prize. The smite division is open for internal transfers and hopefully you’ll come join us. Hope to see all the new faces, Signing off Hoo-ah!
World of Tanks creator, Wargaming.net, will be releasing a new game called World of Mounts. The game will feature standard historical mounts, such as warhorses and elephants, as well as a few fantasy-based mounts, including griffins, a creature that looks similar to the chocobos from the Final Fantasy series, and a special line of Ponies. To compensate for using the licensed My Little Pony characters, Wargaming.net will be charging $12.99 per month to play this game, and once all the games have become integrated, it will be a $14.99 per month fee to play all of the games. Beta testing for World of Mounts is expected to begin in June 2013.
