A mix of high fantasy, high technology, and low life, Shadowrun is a unique setting that I have loved since I discovered it. A classical style pen-and-paper role-playing game set in the late twenty-first century, Shadowrun has only had a hand-full of video game adaptions, the most recent of which was a buggy, unfinished rush-job released in 2007. Previous to that, the most recent game was released on the Sega CD in 1996 with only three games previous to that on other systems. More than a decade and a half after the last Shadowrun game of any significance, the newest foray into the world of Shadowrun has come out this last week: Shadowrun Returns. The game is a classic style isometric RPG from the olden days and feels like games such Baldur's Gate or the earlier Ultima series. You navigate a world, speaking to non-player characters of all sorts of meta-human races with personalities and skills sets as colorful as the neon signs that dot the cyber-punk wasteland. The story of the game has you tracking down the killer of an old friend, taking you to numerous settings. Your character can be tailored to suit nearly any desire you'd like and options range from a gun-toting soldier, to a cyber-enhanced street samurai, to a hacker, a souped-up remote control junkie, magic casters, and summoners, just to name a few. Or you can mix-and-match using the classless system taken straight out of the pen-and-paper gameThe game play revolves mostly around you exploring the world, talking to NPC's and questing in the grimy near-future. There is no voice acting, but just as in a well run pen-and-paper RPG, the descriptions of everything let you imagine the world in your own mind's eye. Combat is turn-based, in a similar vein to that of the original Fallout games, and it feels great; you can make quality choices based on the information given in combat, such as chance to hit, quality and direction of cover, movement range, and several other things. So far the only bad thing I can say about Shadowrun Returns so far is there is no manual saving, but only a auto-save system which save at every new scene. Thankfully the scenes can be fairly short, so you never lose TOO much progress if you have to leave suddenly. Finally, the game comes packaged with a free editor and Steam workshop support. These two things let you not only create your own adventures but also share with anyone and everyone. Once you finish the initial adventure, surely countless more will be laid before you, just waiting for you to pick them up. Shadowrun Return fills an interesting niche in that it feels very much like a pen-and-paper video game. Tons of character options, different ways to approach objectives, powerful tools to create and share more adventures. For a mere $20 (or even less if you wait for it to go on sale), you too can enter the world of Shadowrun and explore the dystopian world filled with amazing technology and fantastic magic.

Capt. Jaymorr WT 1CO
I was playing in a random battle of World of Tanks, and a member sent out a recruiting message, and I took the bait. Lol I have enjoyed the structure of TAW being former military seems like a natural fit.
I love collecting firearms. Currently I have an AK-47, SKS, Mosin Nagant short version (one of the most accurate sniper rifle of WW 2), and a Henry Repeater., several hand guns,
Did you admire a famous person?
What made them admirable? Winston Churchill This man was able to hold off the *** for over 2 years before we entered into WW 2. Also said one of my favorite quotes, "If you're going through hell, keep going."
What are some favorites? Color, food, ice cream, book, movie, song, sports,
My favorite color is blue, favorite food is steak properly prepared and cooked, favorite ice cream I would have to go with Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream, Favorite movies are Apocalypse Now and Big Red One Even though in Big Red One the Tiger tank and PZ IV are both Sherman tanks with a few modifications.
Getting my associates degree in Information Technology
Tell me how you first got involved in with TAW
I first got involved in TAW as a DI. I held that position for over two months then, shortly after I became a TI. I held the position of TI for a little while when I heard about a opening for the SO position. When I was interviewed for the position I was asked which I would rather be an XO or SO. I picked the XO because I like dealing with regular members more than recruits at that time. Now currently I am CO of fourth corps, first battalion World of Tanks.
My first impressions of TAW were that I liked the structuring, and how organized meetings were. I also liked at the beginning of mandatory trainings that the highest ranking member of your division made announcements first, and that there was always time for even lower ranking members.
Receiving a gift from a member for joining in World of Tanks. The person who did my boot camp was the SO at the time, and must have thought I was something special. LOL
That I have made it to CO. I joined with intentions of remaining a soldier just to have more in game time, but now that I am the CO I love being able to see what goes on behind the scenes to keep a battalion, and division in TAW running.
Being able to maintain a professional bearing at all times. Especially if I know that one of my members has done something and will not admit that he did it. This is the hardest thing I have come across in taw. I've only had this happen once. Great job WT 1
What's the best/worst thing to happen since you started working with TAW?
Seeing friends come and go. I understand that it is only a game, but I feel I have made some very good friends in TAW, and I hate to see them leave. Also dealing with some of the drama that has happened since I have been CO has been pretty difficult.
When you last volunteered, made a donation, etc., how did that make you feel?
I have felt great about the help that I have been able to contribute to WT 1.
If you could change one thing about TAW, what would it be?
To see more of the TAW universities being held. When I first joined I believe these were once every month or at most two months in between. Now it seems that they have been almost forgotten about. Also I would like to see more newsletters going out.
What do you wish other people knew about TAW?
More of the history behind TAW. I took the information specialist tab test recently, and I the information I found to get the tab was very interesting. The one thing though that TAW was founded by military for military originally.
Why are you supporting the TAW as opposed to other groups working on TAW?
Since I joined a year ago, I have enjoyed the military like structure of TAW, and the people that I work with in my position, and enjoy the competitions we have in World of Tanks.
Tell me about some of the people you've met while working on TAW?
I have met Steel Ranger my current division commander, a very good person. Also I would like to think Themus XO and JordonDummy SO. I do not know what I would do without you guys. Also I would like to think all the WT 1 members for sticking with us through the good and bad times.
What would you say are some of your strongest beliefs about TAW?
That we are organization that keeps personal views out of gaming. Like religion, sex, and political views. Also respecting one another from CIC down to recruit.
What's your personal philosophy on what should be done about TAW?
My personal philosophy on what should be done about TAW is that; I wish the members knew more of the history behind TAW, and how it came to be the massive soon to be non-profit origination it is going to be.
When your friends/family find out that you volunteer, donate, etc., what do they say or ask?
They are happy that I have found something to do as a hobby.
Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work with TAW?
SteelRanger and Patamon both World of Tanks Division Commanders have both influenced me to work with TAW. Both being in the military also made it easier to listen to them, and reassured me they knew their stuff.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I would like to get my pilots license.
The interest in TAW seems to be growing/waning. Why do you think that is?
More members are joining, and having a good experience with TAW. One of the best reasons I can think of for an organization to grow is members enjoy the experience.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about donating, volunteering, etc.?
I would let them know the responsibilities of that position, and tell them to give it their all.
What do you think will change about TAW over the next five years?
I think that we will add more games, making us grow even more. I would also like to see another division formed once we have more games added into TAW.
What's it like to be a volunteer, client, donor or the TAW?
It is like doing anything else you do in life. Give it everything you have, and in the end hope for the best. If you do not get the best, then evaluate what went wrong, and do not be afraid to make changes.
If you weren't volunteering, using their services, etc., what would you be doing instead, or what would your life be like?
I would probably be bouncing from one clan to another trying to find one that I liked.
As a client, volunteer, donor, what sorts of trends do you see?
I see that when our battalion is not actively involved in some type of contest to see which platoon is the best our overall attendance goes down.
How would someone describe you?
That is best for someone else to answer, but if I had to guess all around a good guy, who keeps his word.
What do you do when you aren't working, volunteering?
I like to go out and shoot my rifle and pistol collection. I also enjoy fishing, watching football and eating pizza.

Reflecting on Battlefield 3 and Transitioning to Battlefield 4
As the community prepares for the debut of Battlefield 4 (BF4), I think it's important to take a moment to reflect on how Battlefield 3 (BF3) has impacted us-The Art of Warfare (TAW)-and what we should look forward to in the coming months; what we have learned from BF3 and what our expectations for BF4 should be as it relates to how we structure our division, internal matches, training and competition teams.
The Current State of BF3 and the BF3 Division at TAW
Based on how BF3 started almost two years ago, we should expect a huge influx of new members for what will be the BF4 division. As it stands today, we have over 100 active members in BF3, which I consider good, provided this game is on its last legs. With that in mind, we shouldn't be surprised to see at least 200 total active members in the first few weeks of the official spin-up period for BF4.
The appeal of the Battlefield (BF) franchise has always been the emphasis on combined arms, teamwork, strategy, accessibility for all skill types and the innovation behind the game (e.g., graphics, audio, authenticity of weapons and vehicles). These attributes have allowed the franchise to align itself with the steady advances in technology, both from a production and consumer perspective, making the newest iterations the most successful; it's fair to say that the success of BF hinges on its ability to mesh fun with realism.
However, players of BF3 have been extremely critical of that balance, among other (valid) complaints. While it's natural to transfer to another game within TAW due to one's preference and mood, there have been quite a few transfers from the BF3 division specifically due to BF3 being imperfect. Flaws in BF3 are amplified by the fact that players can choose to exploit them, such as playing exclusively as the assault class, because it has the best weapons and the ability to heal or revive damaged or downed players, respectively.
The venerable M16A3, a tryhard's best friend
It should be interesting to see how or if DICE, BF's developer, has addressed the laundry list of issues that plagued BF3 in BF4.
Additionally, one of the toughest challenges for the BF3 division staff is keeping the game relevant, as it crawls to its inevitable death when the BF4 open beta debuts on 24 September 2013. Even though the active membership in BF3 stands at over 100 members, the feeling of exhaustion can be felt, as members have become numb to the mechanics, environments and game modes (but hopefully not each other!). Members still love the game, but simply put, not as much as before. The components that drive a TAW division-internal matches, external scrimmages, training and competition teams-have been affected by the lack of interest.
Again, it should be interesting to see if BF4 will succumb to a similar fate, or if the new features prolong the game, both for casual gamers and TAW gamers. It will depend, of course, if DICE will produce the Battlefield 5 in two years, like they did with BF4. I hope they do and don't at the same time.
New Features in BF4 and How TAW Should Benefit From Them
As we wait with bated breath (October 29, October 29, October 29!!!), let's review some of the key BF4 features that have been advertised or leaked, and see how they can enhance the BF division better than before:
Suppression Effect Limited
Light machine guns (LMGs) will be the only weapon that induces the suppression effect. In BF3, any weapon induced the suppression effect on an enemy player. The role of the LMG in real life is to suppress the enemy. I think we should expect the support class to be used more, and more effectively. The support class should have a more defined role, especially in internal matches, besides being the "ammo guy" or the "C4 guy."
Squad Size Increased
The squad size increased from four to five. In internal matches, one important, but often ignored responsibility of being in a squad is communicating when you die. It allows remaining squadmates know when and if to spawn, revive or play conservative. It's forgotten because in BF3, it's actually quite easy to wipe a squad, it happens very fast. In those instances, you wish you had that one extra squadmate to spawn off of or be revived by.
This subtle increase in squad size should give squads more versatility.
Dynamic Squad Specializations
Squad specializations (or "perks") are dynamically earned through progression in a game, not chosen ahead of time. This should further help define a squad's role in a game. For example, a hard-hitting infantry squad will probably want to go for perks that benefit fast, precise gun battles whereas a tank squad will want to go for perks that benefit the ability to fight other vehicles and repair their own more effectively.
For internal matches in TAW, we make all unlocks available via server settings, to level the playing field, which means even if you haven't earned certain weapons, vehicles and loadouts (including perks) through pub play, they are available to all players. So, it's uncertain how this new feature will be employed, but it will at least encourage better teamwork in pub play.
Water, Reinvented
Combat in water is being expanded and enhanced. It's really not accurate to say BF3 had any sort of naval warfare, unless you consider LAVs moving at a blistering 1 mph through the water, subsequently getting dismantled like by the Frogfoot on Kharg Island (Rush). So, really, I'm just looking forward to having naval warfare added. Additionally, players can now swim fast, dive and deploy pistols and C4 in deep water. In BF3, you were quite literally a sitting duck.
Practice/Tutorial Mode
Practice/tutorial mode is making a comeback. Players can now practice how to shoot, fly or drive without being a liability on a public server. Um, YES!
Commander Mode
Commander mode will allow one player from each team take on the role of commander without taking up an active-player slot in-game. For TAW, this should be very exciting, as we emphasize teamwork and strategy from the top down, with this feature adding another layer on how to game the other team. A platoon leader (PL) or squad leader (SL) should have a lot of fun playing or delegating this role for internal and external matches.
Commander Mode can be accessed through a tablet, like the Apple iPad
Spectator Mode, Battle Recorder and Competitive Play
Spectator mode is confirmed, but "Battle Recorder" is not. It remains to be seen if a recording function will be available for PC. For consoles, it appears that DICE will be leveraging the recorders included in the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Whatever the case is, a spectator mode has been a long-awaited feature amongst TAW members, as the ability to view fellow players provides opportunities for entertainment but also training (e.g., how to approach a certain section of a map, what buttons do what, etc.).
It should be presumed that DICE will allow a server-enabled function to delay the feed to players that choose to spectate and restrict spectating the opposing team's players.
While cheating in games will always be prevalent, the ability to spectate in BF4 should help combat it better than BF3. This feature, especially if combined with a recording feature, should thrust BF4 into the competitive gaming scene. This would be a tremendous opportunity for TAW to pursue, and one that I think has the potential to reshape how TAW structures its competition teams.
The BF4 Spin-Up and Future Division
Horizon Team, a program within Vanguard to help develop divisions better, will form around 1 August 2013 to prepare documentation for the new BF4 division. During this period, drill instructors (DIs) will be trained before 24 September 2013, when the beta starts. Once the beta starts, the spin-up team, led by TexasHillbilly will start recruiting, activate forums and socialize ideas to ensure quality membership. TexasHillbilly has set the goal high and expects to bring in 250 members before becoming a full-fledged division in TAW.
For more information on the Horizon Team program and Vanguard, please visit the respective TAW TeamSpeak channels, contact a TAW staff member or visit the Units page on the TAW website.
The backbone of the BF3 division is the internal matches, dubbed "Battlelines" for BF3 (it will likely be named differently in BF4). We are currently coming up on the 14th "season" of Battlelines, which most likely will be the last for BF3. I can't speak for other games and divisions within TAW, but the thought that has gone into Battlelines has been nothing short of consistent A-plus effort by all staff and members. There has been controversy, but controversy spurs discussion, and discussion leads to solutions. Every generation of the BF staff has placed great emphasis on creating a fun and innovative structure for the internal matches, led by the field specialist (FS).
The internal match structure is evolving and should continue to be the priority for BF4. It decides how trainings are conducted, how competition teams are organized and how membership is maintained. It prepares members to play against other clans in scrimmages and molds recruits into leaders. With the hopeful improvements being made to BF4 by DICE and ideas being concretized by the current TAW staff, the next BF division should see a lot of success. It has, and always will be, about the members.
What are currently peripheral and dying components of the BF division-training nights, competition team and external scrimmages-should expect to play a bigger role, become more robust and sustainable in BF4. Just because internal matches are the backbone of a TAW division, it doesn't mean that it can function by itself. It is the most sustainable, but the success of it is, and should be, dependent on the other components, and vice versa.
So, as we anticipate the debut of BF4, current TAW members (in and out of the BF3 division), players thinking about joining TAW and players who are in other clans/gaming communities should know that the future BF4 division will be dedicated to creating the best structure for the game and will put its stamp on the community. The BF TAW division has evolved along with the game itself, and the next rendition of BF will highlight what TAW does so well. Everything.
Welcome back to Previews of Note, your bite-sized digest of exciting upcoming games. This column's game was recommended by our very own Support Corps Commander Eifer - Titanfall
Titanfall is a FPS game created by Respawn Entertainment, a development company founded by former Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella, and is to be published by EA in 2014 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. Titanfall's dedicated PC servers will be running from the Xbox Live Cloud - no real surprise, with Microsoft running the show. What <i>is</i> a surprise is that the developers have chosen to use Valve's Source engine as their foundation - most gamers these days find Source to be a little outdated for their graphical and performance tastes, but the devs have cited familiarity and the ease of obtaining a consistent framerate of 60fps on consoles.
Gameplay is multiplayer-only, with small elements of singleplayer such as NPCs and narrative ingrained in the mix. "Pilots" and "titans", which may evoke Pacific-Rim-esque awe in battle, work together to achieve team-based objectives in fast and furious combat - even on foot, you have the ability to move quick and hard, with double-jump abilities and wall-running.
Visually speaking? The game looks absolutely gorgeous, even to this Source veteran. While promo images make heavy use of the overdone orange/blue dynamic (see: every movie poster in the last two years) the gameplay videos that Respawn Entertainment have provided so far have been enough for Titanfall to win over 60 awards at E3.
In summary: keep an eye on this game. It looks to be living up to the hype.

Finishing my paramedic training
I first joined TAW in the Natural Selection 2 division. I was on the NS forums and thought that TAW was what I was looking for.
What was your first impression of TAW? Initially
I felt like the odd man out, but that feeling was very quickly changed when I was welcomed to all aspects.
My first practice with Natural Selection. It was my first time really doing a structured practice.
The vast difference of people.
I can't really think of a worst thing that happened, since most have been positive. The best was probably when I was asked to become the Staff Officer.
I did feel a sense of accomplishment and self-gratitude since I was able to help in some way.
The way TAW is being run, I don't see much of a need for change. The only thing I would see changed is the website, it seems a little outdated.
I think most people are apprehensive to the onboarding process, but I feel that this is a crucial part. There is really nothing to fear here, as it is mostly quick and painless.
Bcuz TAW
I have played with Icarus when I was in the Natural Selection division, and he only yelled at me sometimes.
I believe that TAW is a great place for anyone who is serious about gaming and want a community that knows how they feel. That being said, TAW is also a place where you can be somewhat casual.
I think they way TAW is running right now is the best for future growth.
They are not surprised since I do a lot of volunteering.
Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work with TAW? I
think Vulkor and JoeMcDoug have done the most to "voluntell" me to be more active.
I think the best thing to say is to just do what you can. If you're low on funds, try to see what other opportunities are available to help TAW.
Quiet, but able to be loud if needed.
Relaxing with music, movies, and games.
What else can you tell me about the TAW?
I found TAW to be an open and welcoming place. All of the members seem dedicated to being better gamers and people.
The next edition of TAW's Official Newsletter, From the Battlefield, is out! This go-round we look at III Corps. III Corps is running strong with over 390 members led by Corps. Commander - SuperTreky, MGN and Corps. Lt. Commander - Draconis, BGN. Their current divisions include League of Legends, Natural Selection and the recent addition Smite. Read From the Battlefield to catch the exciting happenings.
Since moving from Vanguard to III Corps, we've been really striving to promote TAW in the general smite community, as well as giving the existing members more to do. If you follow the Smite streams on twitch, you may have recently seen both our EU and NA competitive teams participating in tournaments(And doing quite well, I might add!). We had a team compete in the Denial esports casually competitive tournament. The Smite NA team entered into the tournament consisted of Gl1tch3d, aamc90(smitecameron), Neuchacho, Proudfeet and Quynton. Eleven teams were entered, and our team managed to win the preliminary round, quarter finals and semi finals matches. We then lost in the finals to Touthsomes Rage, finishing second place in our first tournament. This was a great accomplishment for having only practised together the day before. We also got some great exposure for TAW, and made several contacts within the community. I look forward to seeing us get even better in the future.
Another way we've done this is the institution of an in-house 2v2 League/Tournament that will be officially kicking off this week. This first one is just a dry run or practice run of the league to get everything sorted out. In the future we plan on doing a multi-week league with prizes and recognition. The league is going to be open to all TAW members, so if you're interested in trying Smite, feel free to jump down and play with us or sign up for future leagues! It should prove to be a lot of fun for all involved. The tournament is being run by Intricasm.
A lot has been going on in one of the largest division in TAW, the League of Legends. The largest news is the new format in which we are conducting our North American East battalion (Battalion 1) during practice times, which is a first attempt and never has been done this way in the past. Here is a sneak-peek:
Taw LL1 Practices
The new goal is freedom of choice for the players. We have gone from a system of officers picking teams and attempting to balance games between skill levels etc, to an open format. Now, players have two options. First, they can choose to play a casual in-house game with other guild members where the goal is to play something new or just have fun. Second, they have the option to create their own 5 player teams within the league of legends ranked queue ladder. These teams can choose to scrimmage against each other during our practice times or they can simply get together and play ranked as a team.
This new system has a couple of reasons why we think it will be an improvement. With the way things were set previously, we had attendance issues for practices where we would create teams for them, as nobody really cared about the rest of their team or if they won or lost. Then because of that, teams would have to change frequently to make up for members who would not show up. Now, players are responsible for making their own teams and if a player doesn't show up, they have to go back to play casual with everyone else, so there is kind of a peer pressure element. Also, since it is an actual ranked team in league of legends, there is something to be gained and lost. Along the same lines, since teams changed so much previously, it was unlikely that players ever played with any other player or group on a regular basis. With the ranked teams, they will have time to play as a team and learn each other's play styles, learn to play as a group and take objectives/team fight/etc.
We understand that there may be players that want to find a team and haven't been able to. To that end, we created a Google document where players can let others know they are available to be picked and what roles within the game they would prefer to play, along with their current ranked information. For those that have already joined teams, they are listed as well.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ahy3EcmEVfqRdF81N1ZXVXllRU9uSVN3ckJ2dlNUYWc#gid=0
After 2 weeks of letting teams build and get ready, we plan to start a bracket system. The ranked teams will be given a schedule of when they play each other, and each of their games will be hosted and also shout casted by a commentator. The other users will be able to watch the games and follow along with their favorite team's progression (something similar to an LCS like format). Hopefully this will get even more players interested in joining teams and even get more recruits to join LL division in TAW.
In the end, the goal is to have fun and also be able to learn and improve upon our game play. We think this will be a great way to do that, and are looking forward to playing it out!
Cya on the field of justice!

In some more entertaining news, Mortem, the bard of the League Division is currently working on a new league spoof together with Jellymish, the SO of LL 2. It’s gonna be a spoof on Lily Allen-It's not fair with Jellymish handling the Main Vocals while Mortem will supply the guitar and background vocals.
In the song we get to follow the ADC of team and the issues that arises when u queue up to get a random support.

Welcome to the new column, written by your ever-present science-loving robot-lady extraordinaire, GlaDOS. In this section of From The Battlefield, I'm going to be taking a moment to update you readers on the latest and greatest of the gaming world. Most of the focus will be on PC games, but we'll throw in a console game or two if they look sufficiently awesome.
First up, a personal favourite of mine. Payday 2 is the hotly-anticipated sequel to the original Payday: The Heist, developed by Overkill Software. A co-op FPS, Payday 2 adds many features that are straight upgrades from the original, including enhanced stealth gameplay and new abilities, all with the same crew of loveable criminals that you came to know in the original. Here is Payday 2 - Fencing Loot and Betrayal Reveal:
3v Y 3 7 pQ
Payday 2 will utilise a system called Crimenet, which semi-randomly assigns missions to players depending on the methods used for previous heists. While it won't have much of a story, the fun is in the bank robbery - plots? Ha! Who needs plots when you have guns?
What drew me to taw was a simple post on the smite forums. What has kept me in taw is a various community of players with exceptional skills and personality on a broad spectrum. The taw officers in the smite division have truly been able to take a true melting pot of gamers and establish a forum that anyone can find entertainment in.
Yes I enjoy swimming, rowing, and playing with my nephew.
George Washington, Founded our nation, did not back down to British influence and continued to not only back the rebellion but lead it forward to victory.
What are some favorites? color, food, ice cream, book, movie, song, sport, etc
Magenta, chicken feet, Bacon Icecream, Moby ***, memnto, Don't fear the reaper "blue oyster cult". Football.
Winning the amateur tournament in smite, we came in second last week.
. . . Through the forums.
Very organized.
Sunday night practice I was able to get a triple kill my first game in the clan.
The people I have surrounded myself in taw are the standard of team work.
When the officers organize 30+ into multiple practice games in under 10 minutes.
Best is coming in second in a tournament, worst is losing a friend who had to quit the game.
I Feel pretty great volunteering for this interview =)
For me nothing, but as a DI I have been told by some finding the application to apply is not the most stand out thing when you join the website which can intimidate new members.
I wish other people would realize that the application process is worth the time and effort to be a part of something greater then yourself.
This question is confusing to me at this time.
I have met many people from all walks of life in TAW and when it comes time to get together practice and team build these people are selfless.
An everlasting gaming community with great leadership is hard to find and I think I just found it.
Not to be cheesy and quote my boy Walt Disney but " Keep moving forward "
I have only been playing smite for 6 weeks and I feel with the help of taw and it's experienced members that I'm currently way past where I should be at my skill level.
Why wouldn't it be look at this organization and all it has been doing to advance within it's self, I think the non profit recognition will be a huge step for this community.
TAW is a non profit organization that looks to better itself day by day. With all donations given rest assure the money will be distributed within the community properly.
Vast Growth, multiple team speak servers, more donations and investments.
Brings a true sense of purpose to my gaming experience

To modest to answer really but I would hope it's nice =)
I'm a construction project manager.
Thank you for being here for us all.
I can't really specify all to well what drew me to TAW, I've overall never really been interested in being a part of a community outside of when i used to play MMO:s so the decision to apply for TAW for the LL Division is something i can't fully explain. It's something i definitely do not regret but it's shrouded in mystery for me as well.
I've recently tried to pick up some Tabletop RPGs with some friends and I'm thoroughly enjoying it although I'm still horrible at it/don't understand what I'm doing 90% of the time. I love the idea of really immersing yourself in an adventure that is dictated of how good your imagination is. Admittedly, the attempts towards creating a fantastic adventure more or less leads towards laughing sprees of how bad all of us are at acting. We're bad but we are having tons of fun while being bad.
Overall a huge fan of the colors Red and black, a lingering remnant from my time in MMO.s were in my opinion everything that looked awesome were colored red or black(or even both!).
I've been an avid fan of the Alien Franchise since i were a small kid and the trilogy is a set of movies that i'll never grow tired of. Furthermore as so many people i'm a lover of Disney and can never get enough of seeing Simba going ham on Scar and ending up as the king of the Savannah!
My first impression of TAW was friendly and cozy. I was accepted into a battalion were the member base was split up between the 2 main servers of EU in LL were the one I resided on(EUNE) were only a small platoon with a few members, so it was more of a cozy hideout rather then the big battalion it is today. The EUNE group has evolved a lot since that part and i'm happy that we've managed to keep that feeling of a second home despite the difference in the size of the member base.
I would have to say handling the diversity of the members that are in it. It's a double-edged sword, I love that we have such a big diversity of members in TAW but it do force you to think in a lot of different ways and handle things in other ways then you'd normally approach them and at times it's something that is enough to tear your hair right off!
The changes in membership is both the best and the worst thing that has happened since i joined. I really miss the people that were a part of TAW when i joined and it was in some ways the best time i've had in TAW. It is something i do feel most people think when they join because your first time in any kind of community/guild is what you remember best. On the other hand all the new people that have come in are members i dearly appreciate and are the ones that will be around to shape the future of the battalion.
I thoroughly enjoyed when I made my last donation. It was a donation I made firsthandedly for a friend.
Dajaroo were one of the people who went to Vanguard to spin up the Minecraft Division and I made a donation to help them pay for their servers. It always makes me happy to help friends out and I'd gladly do it again if the need arise(I also got nice chains on Daja for epic Mc stuff!).
I've had the pleasure of meeting many many people during my time in TAW. Stealthmist, Calidrin, Dajaroo, Eifer(Mr i love Blondie), Turtoisbee and FijaPowa just to name a few and they are all people that I feel are amazing and some of the most enjoyable human beings I've had the honor of meeting.
I have 2 people that specifically comes to mind that has influenced me incredibly during my time in TAW.
My first mentor and my closest friend in TAW is Urkosh who I worked with ever since I joined until he transferred to LL 3 to help them out. He has taught me a lot and influenced my way of thinking and leading and are still providing me with insight and advice.
Secondly, I want to point out NupidStoob, my current DC. Although he first took up the DO role when I joined TAW, he decided to step down and pursue competitive play. He returned when I recently were made CO and I had the honor of having him as my XO for a while until he got promoted to DO and after that I've worked with him and had the benefit of using his knowledge and leadership and he will stand as one of the persons that have influenced me the most.
I'm a farmer! I've lived all my life out in the forest(literally in the forest) so I at least hope I have managed to acquire some knowledge of plant life and how to make things grow.
I also happens to be a lover of Béarnaise sauce and could have it as a side to almost anything(pancakes excluded)!
Corps II is running strong with over 390 members led by Corps. Commander - TexasHillbilly, MGN and Corps. Lt. Commander - Heidebitt, BGN. Their current divisions include Tribes Ascend, Teamfortress 2, Battlefield 3 and Planetside 2. Although these games have gone through updates and revisions, the divisions keep holding strong due to a great deal of quality leadership within Corps II.
As for Battlefield 4, we are anticipating a great future for the Battlefield Division. The Beta will begin September 24th and the game is scheduled to launch on October 29th. A Horizon Team is already in the planning stages, and being headed up by TexasHillbilly. The limited footage shown at E-3 recently for Battlefield 4 has some awesome advances in graphics, and effects. Keep an eye on the Battlefield forums with threads with [BF 4] on them for important information regarding updates.
Thank you,
Texas
