When GRO was first introduced to TAW, it didn't go to well, and the game was abandoned. But some old dogs from GRFS agreed to try again, Mr. Chewy convinced the VG Staff to give it one more try, and this time it succeeded with hard work. At first it was difficult to get enough recruits, but again with hard work from a STRONG team and with Mr. Chewy who whipped us to provide 120%, we came out of Vanguard to the 6th Corps. And we thank the VG Staff very much for this second try.Since then it has expanded rapidly, some members have left us, but even more have joined in. We have now reached the stage where our dedicated team is putting the final hands-on map locations. Platoons are being made, we are really starting to get a close-knit team. With new staff members, the pace is getting higher, and the members feel more and more dedicated to the Battalion. You could actually say, we are becoming one big family. Today we count 48 members in the VI.corps GRO Division, and that number will keep climbing. The game itself, is getting better and constantly patched. New things are being added to the game, even new weapons from GRFS. 8 players in a fireteam is to come in a future patch. But this is only a few out of a lot new things. The latest patch update, was last Wednesday, Patch 12.3.Some smaller changes, and a few major. Not all of them popular, but if Ubisoft don't earn money, there's no game at all.Never-the-less Ubisoft isn't sitting back and doing nothing. What they failed to do with GRFS, they do with GRO; listen to us gamers and try to develop and make the game better. For new members, the new "Tier" system will make progression slower, especially if they are unable to spend GC. But the actual gameplay is slowly evolving. Magnum ammo now lasts for 5 game-rounds, rather than a set number of bullets, for example.Sure there are still bugs that need fixes, but they are minors. This game is a great, highly addictive and best-of-all, IT'S FREE.
On a side note...We've all had a dreadful match in the past. You know, the one where it simply isn't coming together for you? I have certainly had a few.Likewise, it's a great feeling when you fight at a new level of skill for the first time, and beat the odds. That's how it was for FS ExpertKiller of the GRO EU Battalion and DO Botch from BF3 earlier this week, when upon being pushed-back over several points, their team-mates began to leave until only our valiant fireteam of 2 was left, and one other player, against the marauding foe.Not wishing to disgrace the TaW name, leaving the match was not an option. Instead, they would make the hostile forces suffer and bleed for the final capture. And the fatal mistake the Red-team made was to underestimate the determination of a TaW fireteam. Instead of pushing-up as-one, they re-spawned and rushed as individuals. And as individuals they all died, many times over.Apparently, a number of unpleasant words were used!In the end, they organised a device push, but our guys who had been camping the point immediately switched tactics, and attacked from the flanks, killing the entire team.It was only a matter of time until the superior force won, but time is what they didn't have anymore. The match was over and the final point never claimed. This reminds me of The Battle of Camarón, when 65 of the French Foreign Legion were besieged by 3000 mexican troops, and eventually were left with just 5 men having made the Mexicans pay dearly. These 5 refused to surrender and instead they actually charged the Mexicans. The Mexicans were so impressed with this bravery and tenacious action that orders were given not to kill but capture the surviving 2 Legionaries who still refused surrender and instead demanded safe passage home. The Mexican CO felt he had no option but to agree. They were released, their weapons returned to them, and full honour given.Well done guys.. This is how we roll.
