What's your callsign?
MisterNeopolitan.
Let's get to know you – can you describe yourself in five words?
Chatty, Rascally, Irreverent, Canadian, Paranoid?
Tell us about your history in TAW.
I am new. I joined up about a month ago to play with the MWO Division.
What was your initial impression of TAW?
Good group of players. The practice sessions are great for guaranteed hours of team play.
Tell us about your division, and what you do there.
I'm in the MWO division, and I'm a private in the North American batallion. My job is to bring big stompy and smaller stompy robots to the field of battle, whereupon I soak up many bullets and missiles to build a burning pile of metal amidst my team.
What would you like someone considering joining TAW to know?
That we are awesome!
Do you have any special hobbies or activities outside of TAW?
That would be telling.
If you could change one thing about TAW, what would it be?
Well, it would be nice if the 'W' in TAW stood for wendersnaven, or wallaby, but that's just me. If we ever went Clan in MWO, we'd need an animal name. So... yeah. Wallaby.
Tell us about some of the people you've met during your time in TAW.
Well, I've played a lot of games with ChaiXuan and Richardtyson, and they're stand up guys.
What's your favourite thing about TAW?
Team practice. I cannot stress how nice it is to have a small group of people show up at given time so you can learn team members temperments and play styles.
How does TAW affect your offline life?
It does not. Online and offline are separate lives.
What might our readers be surprised to know about you?
I can do a half decent impersonation of Dobby from the Harry Potter movies.
What's your favourite retro videogame? Why?
Seven Cities of Gold, because it was the first computer game I played.
If you could choose any TAW member to be stranded on a desert island with, who would it be and why?
Exhumo. He seems chill.
Do you admire any celebrities? Why or why not?
Mike Rowe. He got to try out so many different jobs on his Dirty Jobs TV show. That looked like fun.
Who do you believe is going to be the most influential figure in gaming in the next three years?
Subrat? I have no idea.
For their time, effort and dedication, this member will be awarded our In-The-Scope member tab for completing the interview.
SteelRanger .
I like to have fun.
I started in TAW in June 8, 2012 when I was recruited by Trathen WT 1PL, who at the time was WT 1TS and told me about TAW while I was playing World Of Tanks. After Looking at the web site I waas hooked and signed up, I quickly progressed through the ranks after making PFC from TI, to DI, TS to SO. After getting over 35 recruits into the battalion I was selected among other things to become WT DO. I was promoted to WT DC on June 16, 2013 and my current DO is Jaidcael who is from Hong Kong., our first ever Oceanic TFO.
TAW is a place with its act together and built on a Para-Military System, which me coming from many years serving in the U.S. Army this was right up my ally!
My Division is World Of Tanks and it is just that "TANKS"! The game is based on WW I, WWII, and Cold War Tanks many are real that were used in past battles but there are many still they have that are what are known as paper tanks or proto-types, they never hit the battle field some never saw the production floor. We go into training rooms or tank companies and battle using tanks we have in our account garages, which you have to build up from tier to tier 10. My job is Division Commander which means running the big show and reporting to 4th Corps CC. I love my job and my DO and I work well together to oversee three Battalions on three different servers; NA, EU, and OC. My motto down hear is always, "Friendship, Loyalty, and Fun!" If my members aren't having fun then I am right there to make it happen!
TAW is not just some fly by night clan that will be here today and gone the next. That we have been here for 13 years and we are not going, we are growing! TAW is has so much to offer with so many games and fun gaming community that makes you good about being a member.
I spend time with my lovely wife of 13 years Amanda and my 4 kid Lily, Tony, Zach, and Cody. I love Deer Hunting, Duck Hunting, and Fishing (Fresh Water), I collect O-Gage Trains with my brother, I study Roman Warfare and Tank / Artillery Warfare. .
Update the TAW Website and make it faster.
Ekis in OS has to be one of my best go-to guys when it comes to needing something fixed on the TAW site and he is a great friend!Jaymorr WT 1CO is one of my other go to guys on the NA side and he is always there when I need him. TigerFang WT 6CO is a great friend on the EU and he makes me laugh and has I have a lot of trust in him. Subrat and Stealthmist are two of the best leaders a DC /DO could have, I have and continue to learn agreat many things from these men. Sooner OKC is among the top wisest people in TAW and that's no joke! As many times as he has talked and I have listened, his words speak volumes.
Getting on Team Speak and platooning with the members of my division and having a great time.
It doesn't , I keep them separate..
After US Army Boot Camp I went to Airborne School and then to Rangers and got tabbed I switched MOS to Tanks then later I was a Platoon Sgt in the Tank Crops. I served 4 combat tours and 2 peace keeping tours under 2 different Presidents. I was also a Volunteer Firefighter for 11 years.
Has to be Atari Space Invaders, I loved playing that game back in the 80's. I remember begging my mom to buy it when it first came out. That was so hart trying to shoot the ships before they came down on top of you and if you were not fast enough they sped up the closer they gt to you.
Most likely my DO Jaidcael since he has lived on an island and would know how to survive by eating from the ocean. I grew up next to the Atlantic Ocean so with out combined knowledge of the sea we could find food to eat and share common things thus making being castaways more bearable .
I don't really, for one I rarely watch TV as it is because my kids are always on them. Mostly because its all fake just to get their name in the spot light for 15 minutes of fame. I don't go for pantomime Shows so that's why I don't go for Celebs.
Hard to tell at this point since there are so many names out there making waves. I would keep my eye on War Gaming.
Juvenis.
Excited, direct, trustworthy, honest, dedicated
I joined TAW Arma in 2011. After 2-3 months I became a squad leader and since then I have climbed through most positions. I was a platoon leader, Staff Officer, commanding officer and now the division commander.
Wow that is a lot of teamspeak channels and where do I go? TAW seems very big and I was a bit overwhelmed at first. I was taken by a DI who knew his stuff and I felt at home since the first day.
I am at this moment the Division Commander for Arma 3 Division. My job is to oversee the battalions and to keep an eye out for new leaders. I run a 2 weekly meeting with all my officers to keep updated and I do monthly meetings with the NCO's and the entire Division. Arma 3 is one of the best games out there and like it's predecessor Arma 2 a military simulation game. The division consist of great members who spend their time creating custom made missions that they play every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. What a lot of people dont know is that the game Arma 3 has no real content for multiplayer. Everything we play is custom made by our members.
That TAW is a great place to be, not only for arma but for several games. The best thing about TAW is that when you loose touch or feeling with your current game there is always another game that TAW plays. You can easily switch over without have the feeling your leaving something behind.
I breed chameleons ( furcifer pardalis ) on a large scale. I drive motor cycles and really fast cars, love to tune my cars :)
Well that is easy. I would like to have a faster website but I know they are working on that.
The funny thing about being in TAW is that private and game life merge. For example When I was CO I had a certain person who's name I will not mention because it's Sharpshot. Who parked his car against a tree because he drives like a granny. He was out of view for a few days and I found out that I actually was worried about him and so glad he came back in one piece. Another example is my DO. We keep in touch using whatsapp. I am texting with him on a regular basis in the same way I text with my friends.
being surprised by all the great ideas people present. The level of friendship I have developed over the years. And of course the TFO meetings where you almost get a heart attack from the amount of coffee you need to drink.
Well I am still single...my real life friends, my parents and relatives know not to call me on training nights and meeting nights... does that answer your question?
I am on the board of directors in a International watch Company. And yes I am really gay.
I am still playing Black and White.Being God...reason enough
I think I would choose Lucky. He has always something interesting to tell and he has so much knowledge and life experience that I wouldn't be bored staying at a remote Island.
I admire Kate Perry and Justin Bieber.I am not a screaming type of fan and I will never visit a concert but other then that I respect people that have come from nowhere and made it to what they are right now.For that same reason I also respect certain business men.
Well If you asked me this a year ago I would have said Steve Jobs but since he has passed away I really have no idea. The game industry is changing really fast and to be honest most new games coming out need hardware which is still under development. I think the hardware industry will be the deciding factor for the upcoming 3 years on how games progress.

Internet through your electrical outlet!
Are you also tired of wires going everywhere and you find the wireless to spotty or losing reception?
Then use the electricity outlet!
Develo is starting to sell DLAN 650+ for transfers up to 600 Mbps through the electrical outlet.
On display at IFA Berlin this September the German company Devolo presented a bunch of high performance adapters for using your network via your outlet. Now they are just starting to find retailers for their products around the world.
The new series are called Devolo DLAN 650+ and is supposed to be able to deliver up to 600 Mbps, that is sufficient for almost every household in the world that can connect to the internet. (Yes, Sweden will have to stick with cables). Still this will give you the ability to stream video in 4k-resolution.
These small fellas will eat some electricity as you might have figured out, but this new model can take longer distances and also has lower electricity consumption.
At full load they consume 3,9 watt and only 0,7 watt at stand-by. They also have an integrated outlet on them so they won’t use up one outlet that you need.
As far as I know they are only sold in Europe so far with the European Outlet, as of writing this, (Not the UK version) but they are looking to expand with all outlet sockets.
The price tag is around €135 or $180 for 2 adapters in a starter package, and the ability to add an additional adapter for €75 or $100

Call of Duty: Ghosts – SUL IceDoggTAW trying it’s hands with Call of Duty once again!
That’s right! Your eye’s aren’t deceiving you. TAW once again has a Call of Duty division. Infinity Ward and Activision have promised to bring the back to the roots of COD4 for PC Players! What this means for TAW is the ability to control our own server’s and keep all the cheaters at bay, with that we will also have an awesome recruitment toot at our disposal through our servers. The team thus far is incredibly solid, we have a veteran in IceDogg at the helm of the spin-up to ensure this game launches out of Vanguard with amazing success. IonO, is taking care of recruitment and onboarding as the NA SO. Ghosts release on November 5, 2013 but we have already started a recruitment firestorm posting on several CoD forums and using the TAW name and word of mouth to get us a solid footing before the game even releases.CoD: Ghosts Release date: November 5, 2013.Source: ionO [CD 1SO]

It is time, once again for the TAW Community Fundraiser. As many of you are aware, The Art of Warfare relies on your support to maintain day-to-day operations through donations. These donations allow divisions to rent servers for your practices, matches, and pub play.
What you may not realize is that TAW has another fund called the TAW “Community Fund”. This Community Fund is what powers the website, TeamSpeak and the technology development of TAW (TAW 3.0).
As Support Corps Commander, I will be spearheading the Community Fundraiser previously done by Icarus. Like the year before it, there will be various prizes donors can win.
The available prizes are detailed below:
1st Place: $300 NewEgg GiftCard (or EU/OC equivalent)
2nd Place: Razer Blackwidow Tournament Stealth Edition
3rd Place: STEAM Games
4th Place: Large TAW Sticker & TAW Keychain
Everyone who donates will receive a special tab and a downloadable copy of the TAW Wallpaper & Avatar Collection.
The fundraiser has started! Members have until November 17th to donate.
Click Here to View Official Countdown Timer
A drawing for the winners will be held at a TFO meeting in November.
Please join me in donating to the TAW Community Fund.
Choose “TAW Community Fund” as the unit you wish to donate to. In the "note to seller" comment box, be sure to add your TAW Callsign so we know who you are.
Any questions can be emailed to DeadXOn@taw.net
For an upcoming edition, we're looking for all map makers from the different games we support in TAW. I know in ARMA and in GRAW there are map makers and I am sure there are a lot of others.
Looking to write about how to get started, common mistakes, tricks and tips, etc. This could become a regular/repeating piece with enough content <--goal.
If you, or someone you know makes maps please contact me to be a part of this exciting project.
