Vanguard is hosting an Eve Online interest meeting this Saturday at 4:30 pm est/ 9:30 pm gmt. The purpose of this meeting it to determine if we have enough member interest in bringing this game into TAW. You can show you support for this great game by attending or by filling out the Future games form.
Hooah!! I will be there to help answer questions and concerns. Hope to see many of you there
HELL YEAH!! Im gonna be there!
Unsure how it will work with TAW's CoE, but will swing by to check how it will work within TAW.
I'll write here the same i wrote on the facebook post: Well my opinion still stands that EVE Online is not a game appropriate for TAW. If you want to be able to actively gain members and increase your reach inside and outside of the game, you need to do a lot of scetchy stuff to be competitive with other corps to not mention alliances. Diplomacy is a very big thing and you need to go through a lot of compromises and here in TAW we can't compromise on our policy which will leave us very few if any options to grow inside of the game. Spy activities are endorsed in the game, infiltrating other communities, their teamspeaks/discord/mumble you have it, to gain an edge.
How do we deal with such infiltration's? How do we distinguish between genuine members and those who want to cause strife.
People have sat for years in communities waiting for their chance and when it finally arrives they take the whole yard.
Imagine if any alliance or corp at a decent size and reach decides it doesn't like TAW. I have seen players bullied out of the game because they couldn't handle the idea that "you agree to PVP when you undock". How do we deal with a situation where we get wardecked by those people and are hunted through systems?
The biggest issue i see in introducing EVE Online to TAW is the very high chance that someone will invest time, show promise and just outright execute the division once that someone reaches a TFO position.
I didnt see your post on Facebook as I am not on much on the TAW Facebook. As I posted on my doc proposal, the idea is to use NAP and blue status instead of alliances. And yes, diplomacy is a very big thing, absolutely. I have a list of corporations/alliances to talk to regarding NAP and blue status.
1. Regarding spies, compartmentalization and need to know basis is the answer in my opinion. It is true that strife can be caused over a number of years, however that is really true for any games in TAW. I wont go in details, but I have been told stories of other games where the wrong leadership/access took the game down. So it is not an EVE issue only.
2. You are referring to high sec. Corp will be based in NPC null, out of a NPC station, within jumps of sov null. So PVP will be constant and good luck to any high sec pilots coming over to our area. And as far as wardecs:
a) today's update if I recall correctly has banned high sec wardecs for any corps without structures. But again, that is of no concern because corp will be based in NPC null, in an NPC station.
And again, PVP will be constant and will be part of life and growth of the corp.
Regarding your last point, as I mentioned in my first point, it is an issue for any division. However, I also believe TAW has strong checks and balances to limit such a risk and with the additional EVE check and balances used by EVE corporations, I believe the risk in question is mitigated.
