Greetings TAW from all of us here in Vanguard we are pleased to announce that Hell Let Loose is scheduled to have their Spin-Up Meeting on Sunday June 2nd at 20:00 GMT / 16:00 EST. If you are new to these parts and unfamiliar with what a Spin-Up Meeting is, this is where the folks leading the team tell you about their game and the direction they plan to take it in. A brief synopsis from Steam tells us this: Hell Let Loose is a realistic World War Two first person shooter with open battles of 100 players with infantry, tanks, artillery, a dynamically shifting front line and a unique resource based strategic meta-game. This is World War Two at a scale you’ve never played before.
Alright so the overview from Steam has caught my attention, As a lot of you might not know, I myself, come from Call of Duty, so any game based on WWII has my interest, however it seems like the developers of Hell Let Loose, Black Matter Studios is taking it to a much higher level, a much larger level. From my understanding the maps are impressively large, larger than what Battlefield boasts about. It is rumored that the map of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is pretty much a 1:1 scale of it's actual location in Normandy, France. That is immense. Another bonus is that Hell Let Loose is made on the Unreal Engine meaning this game is going to look absolutely terrific. One thing to take note of from the video above is just listen to how good the game sounds. I've mentioned how great it looks, but the sound is also on a different level, subtle but makes a great impact.
In my research for this blog post I came across a lot of information regarding the game. It seems that while yes fighting the war is the bulk of the game, there is also a underlying fight for resources that is also taking place, which let's be honest makes a lot of sense. Attrition and the supply and demand of critical resources is a huge contributor in who is winning the upcoming skirmish. So rather than randomly fighting over flags in strategically spaced out areas like Battlefield and a countdown clock to determine who held the point the longest, you are fighting over crucial areas that you can turn around and turn into Garrisons and Outposts to turn the tides of battle and get those crucial resources: Munitions; Man Power; and Fuel.
There is plenty going on in this game that separates it from titles like Call of Duty or Battlefield. The game focuses on the nitty gritty of the massive conflict that was World War II and do to the different focuses, it makes it it's own game. There is something in it for everyone and if interested please fill out an interest form here or reach out to the Spin-Up Leader KrStopher. We look forward to seeing you at the Spin-Up Meeting.
