TAW Fundraiser 2020: Play Your Part (RESULT)

The results are in, the word is out. A total amount of 8,377.56 USD has been raised. An amount breaking all previous fundraising records in TAW's history. A truly humbling achievement for us as a community. An achievement that highlights the generosity in our community and it's members, more so considering the uncertain times we are currently in. In the midst of the current global event, and all of us having our thoughts on more pressing matters besides TAW, people have still played their part beyond our imagination. It goes without saying that we are deeply humbled and grateful to experience such generosity from our community.

Success like these pave the path for our community to grow and flourish, and TAW will continue to do so because of YOUR generosity. TAW continues to strive to be the premier gaming organisation where people can find a home to play games, build bonds with complete strangers and form friendships, and where we all are not just a community but a virtual TAW family, it is members like you, that drive us towards those lofty goals.

Thank you to everyone who donated. Thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes or contributed to this fundraiser in any possible way. And thank you to every single member of TAW, for playing your part and simply being part of this community.

Here we are, right at the very end! During the TFO meeting later tonight we will end the 2020 Fundraiser, so have we played our part? Let's see:

I know we're still off our primary target, but I wanted to share a few additional details with you all:

1. We have absolutely smashed our 2019 Fundraiser total - and I mean smashed it. In fact, we have smashed 2017 too.

2. We are within mere hundreds of dollars of beating the 2018 Fundraiser total. Remember, we had a bigger member base back then, and it was by a HUGE margin the biggest fundraiser total in the last 5 years. We might just beat it!

3. We have a lot on our minds right now, health and finances being top of the list for a lot of people. Unsuprisingly we didn't factor a mass global pandemic into the planning for this campaign... but despite all that, look at that number!

So what next? Well, we're still going!! I know there are a few sneaky people that like to pop a last minute donation in, and there are also some of you that are probably thinking about it, not found the time yet to go and click that button. But you still have time! The Fundraiser will end at the end of the TFO meeting tonight, when Kareljee will give a rough estimate on the final total. This will be followed up by a blog post from Treasury next week once all of the beans have been counted.

Hey everyone, we're at the end of week 4 now, with one more week to go. Here's where we are against our target:

Some key points that I wanted to mention this weekend are all around the 24 Hr Live Stream. Hats off to everyone involved, but in particular to OJS from the Overwatch division. He said that if he got $200 during his session, he would shave his head! And guess what? Check it out here or click on the image below. Hats off to you OJS, and congrats to your girlfriend who looked like she enjoyed it even more than we did!

The 24hr live stream last year raised $150ish, which is great, but this year we smashed that record by hitting $501, and I think the haircut paid a significant role in that!

So we are here, on the final straight, and we have a week to go. Please please please help spread the word, get people talking and get those donations in. If there's anything that I can do to help, let me know!

Happy Easter everyone! So we're now at the 3 week mark, with 2 more weeks to go! Sorry for the lack of an update this week, but hoping we can make up for it. Last time we were on $2,694. And now we're on.....

We're almost half way, and we have 2 weeks to go, we can definitely do this!

So this weekend when you're locked away wherever you are in the world, have a look, see if you can afford to throw a little money to TAW, and if not please spread the word - talk about it, tell your team mates about it, and get people donating!
