Over the past couple of days I have been doing allot of thinking on the subject of Hannibal of Carthage and how the "Art of Warfare" used in the Second Punic war relates to SC2.

Unit switching:

Carthage was once a powerful sea nation of the Mediterranean, with the bulk of it's power and army coming from the sea.  However during the first Punic Wars that has changed and Rome head control of the sea.  Hannibal being trained in all tactics in the "Art of Warfare."  Knew that he needed a massive unit switch, this unit switch made Rome's fantastic navy useless to the land units that Hannibal would unleash on the Romans.  This would lead to a ground army that was better trained and better equipped then the roman army much like a ZvP

ZVP:

Hannibal was outnumbered by the Romans in every battle he fought however he was able to crush the Romans army's with casualties as high as 10:1, he never.  One reason that Hannibal was able to defeat superior armies because his troops where better trained, and in some cases he even had elephants.  Very much like the romans a Zerg player has to be rely on numbers and the ability to resupply his army fast and bigger then the Protoss player.  Even after throwing countless supply at the Protoss death ball the Zerg may still have to resort to a Base Trade

Base Trade.

Hannibal's military campaign lead to defeat even though he never lost a battle. This was do the a Base Trade where the Romans where unable to defeat Hannibal's death ball so then the Romans decided to attack Carthage, while they would Turtle behind there walls.  This made Hannibal return home where he was forced to surrender.
