1. Though I watch a little bit of everything, my favorites are definitely action and mecha shows.
2. So many of them...Hellsing Ultimate, Great Teacher Onizuka, Armored Trooper VOTOMS, Code Geass, Gundam. The list goes on.
3. Current favorites - Manga: Berserk, Shokugeki no Soma / Light novels: Overlord, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, The New Gate
4. I recoomend watching most of my #2 list (except Gundam, since those can be hit or miss so you have to pick and choose which to watch. Gundam X is a good one to start on for those who have never watched Gundam). Others that I would highly recommend include Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Outlaw Star, Clannad, Spice and Wolf, No Game No Life, Amagi Brilliant Park, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Shokugeki no Soma and Boku Dake ga Inai Machi, to start. They're good entry level anime that aren't too complex.

1. I like action type, sometimes fantasy mixed with reality.
2. My favorite ones are: Attack on Titan, GATE, Assasination Classroom, and MAGI.
3. I do not read manga :(
4. I recommend all of the above, but be aware that Attack on Titan is violent. (Blood everywhere)
Add Sword Art Online to my list of favs.
1: Don't really have a favorite type of genre, but I'm a sucker for the occasional slice of life
2: Currently my favorite Steins;Gate, well done scifi, time-travel story
3: I Am A Hero, currently on going at 239 chapters. I'm excited and impatiently waiting for the DVD release of the live-action movie. If it does the mange justice, it's going to be amazing!
4: Outside of the above mentioned, if you haven't already seen them and in no particular order, I'd check out, Neon Genesis Evangelion (series and movies, to include the "redos"), Psycho Pass, Akria, Angel Beats, Parasyte, and Erased
For those that like sports anime: Yawara, Ace of Diamond (both long running series), and Baby Steps
Slice of Life: Azumanga, Lucky Star, K-On (personal fav), and Nichijou
There's so much more, but yeah.... that should be a good start lol
You can never go wrong with Angel Beats! Kenisama. That is really well done, especially the ending.
genre would have to be those op fighters.
series right now is between hunter x hunter and first season of SAO
not really a manga guy\
series I would recommend would have to be one punch man. such a great first season.
omg I forgot about angel beats them feels though
SAO and Angel Beats! were both really good. Well done and planned out. I can't wait for the SAO movie bigniko!
I have mixed feelings about SAO. Even though I did enjoy it, the story had a lot of problems, especially in the post SAO arcs (I'm looking at you ALO). For me, SAO belongs in a special category I like to call "It's good if you don't think about it too hard". Just my two cents on the subject, though.
Relatively new and narrow minded for the anime genre.
I prefer female main character, lots of blood and violence, demons, ghosts, vampires, zombies etc etc. Anything of that sort of guideline. Oh, and mecha.
Favorite series: Claymore, Hellsing Ultimate, Elfen Lied, Black Lagoon, Ghosts in the Shell - standalone complex, Evangelion 1.0 and 1.1, Phantom, Reqiuem for the Phantom, Magical Garment Girl (LOL), Hell Girl, Mardock Scramble (all), Ergo Proxy, and my all time favorite Blood+.
I dont read manga.
Watch Blood+, the storyline and plot is simply amazing. I am currently looking for any new shows that have a female lead, violence, supernatural, guns or mecha.
