Good Morning everyone,
Yes, once again, it's time for an update from your old buddy Rekon. Now I know some of you know that yes, I am discharged due to medical, but other's know that I am still volunteering albeit "benched" to continue to assist the EDU Division from the proverbial sidelines.
So I've had some people message me and inquire as to when we will have the Open Learning Classes for the positions of TAW reopened. In short, soon. TAW EDU is still diligently hard at work getting the final touches on the 12 classes. Please have patience. EDU does not want to release courses that are incomplete or done with a "butt cheeked" job (now allowed to swear so use your brain for "butt cheeked" definition). We're almost done and will have the courses back online very soon. Once we have the content PROPERLY done and approved, EDU will release it and update TAW that the Open Learning Classes will be available again, but not before.
In the mean time, any member stepping into a NCO role or higher should be given appropriate guidance of what some of their responsibilities are by their Chain of Command. Please keep in mind that some responsibilities have shifted from what they were a month or two ago.
Once again, we apologize for the delay in getting the classes back online for everyone, but we want to make sure the job is done properly so TAW members have the CORRECT information on their roles and responsibilities within a position.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

"How may I help you?"
Just as a reminder, classes are still down.
EDU greatly apologizes for the delay in getting the classes back up and running. We have 12 courses that have had to have a significant overhaul and had to create new questions for each course in addition to completely writing the entire course guide. This is NOT an easy task. Our members are writing, proof reading, reviewing, editing and rewriting each course before it is sent up the Chain of Command for review. Then depending on what the response is, some of the process starts again.
EDU strives to bring ACCURATE and WELL WRITTEN information to the members of TAW. Since we changed from Sentinel Command to Education Center, we have been raising the bar on not only the content provided, but also the quality we write in. This has been a huge change for us and we are still adapting.
EDUU is very much hard at work (yes, even me...I haven't stopped helping even in my current situation). We are working endlessly to try and get these courses complete and back online for all of TAW, but we want to make sure that the courses and the questions are done and done right.
As soon as the classes go live, I will personally update everyone that we have classes live again. Until then, as with all people taking on positions, it is up to your Chain of Command to ensure that you are being trained with what they know are the responsibilities and duties of your role.
Once again, we apologize for the delay, we're almost done (hopefully). Please have patience with us.
Yea, What He said! ;)
I would like to point out However that the Security Awareness and Information Specialist test are up and should be accessible for anyone with a valid user on the Open Learning Website.
So if you are Holding a position (Any position what so ever) and you still haven't completed the Security Awareness exam and gotten your badge, now is the time (As Per Policy 4.3 Section 1)
Also, while the Information is not mandatory, The EDU team strongly suggests you take this highly informative test to get to know the history of TAW a little better.
Good luck for all :)
