Sometimes the laptop isn't enough. They need that lean, mean bank balance breaking machine to do shopping. I have recently been backing up all my data to an external drive each week. I keep two backups. Always delete the older one when I put a new one on.
Is Norton Ghost good? I haven't heard of it until now.

I use Windows Defender. Did a little looking into it during my time trying to find a good anti-virus. It got pretty good reviews from third party reviewers so I gave it a shot. Has not slowed down my PC and it is built into Windows. I would give that a try.
I've been test driving BitDefender for the last few weeks and I do like it, intuitive interface and it's not overly intrusive.

BitDefender is a good one. It's the go to on a lot of PCs of our top people.
I have been using the payed for setup and seems to not get in the way at all of my system. If you need more power just turn it off when you are gaming.
I use Windows Defender.
Windows Defender would be the only way to go IF. People at Microsoft did not sale the back doors to the highest bidder.
I have been using Avast for many years and I have always been happy.
I have also used in the past Comodo https://www.comodo.com , but have always gone back to Avast. To me Avast is the best. The only other product I would recommend would be the Comodo Firewall, which is way better than the Windows one.
