Hey All,
I'm a new recruit to TAW and a newer player to Rainbow Six Siege. I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out who I want to "main" as well as what to carry in my loadout as well as attachments.
Thus far I've decided I would pick a couple "mains" for attacking and defence and try to improve with them. I'll list who I enjoy, and what I use with them, and if you notice anything I can/need to change it would be really appreciated.
Attackers:
Sledge
L85A2
- ACOG
- Flash Hider
- Vertical Grip
SMG-11
- HOLO
Frag Grenade
Thatcher:
P226 MK 25
- Suppressor
- Laser
Breach Charge
Buck
CAMRS
- Muzzle Brake
MK 11 9mm
Zofia
M762
RG15
Defenders
Smoke
M590A1
- Reflex
Barbed Wire
Mute
MP5K
- Compensator
Nitro Cell
Ela
Scorpion EVO 3 A1
Frost
9mm C1
- Extended Barrel
- Angled Grip
Based on all of the loadouts I have above, they are either from the Rainbow Six Siege Reddit Page, or from a YouTube guide.
I've struggled with figuring out what sight since I've started playing the game. The most recent information I gathered on that subject was:
ACOG - Use if gun offers it.
HOLO - Good for close - medium range.
Reflex - Best for close range.
Red Dot - Terrible.
Any information you guys could give me on who to start practicing most of my time with as well as what I should carry and attach to my weapon would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Amcs
I would play and test it on terrorist hunt. For the most part if you spray a compensator is usually a better choice. Lasers are good for hip fire but they give away your position easily.
Sights is all dependent on you. I personally like reflex and acogs.
its honestly all down to what you can control and use yourself. No ones setup is going to be exactly the same for you.
I would also adjust mouse settings and get the best sensitivity for yourself as well. There are a lot of youtube videos to help calculate what you should be using.

Okay thanks,
I did change my mouse settings based on a YouTube video from Serenity.
Are the operators that I want to play viable?
I'm a lot more comfortable kind of hanging out in the back supporting the team, since I'm unfirmiliar with maps right now, and don't feel comfortable being much of a roamer on defence.
Thanks.
Loadouts seem pretty standard and I wouldn't change much.
I would however remove the suppressors from the pistols. Most of the time I find myself using a pistol is when my magazine is empty on my primary weapon and this usually only happens when you've been shooting at an enemy so they already know your location or are aware of your presence and thus a suppressor serves no purpose.
You also want to maximise damage in a 1v1 situation when you're using your pistol as its a last ditch attempt.
The only situation pistol suppressors are useful IMO are on attackers if you want to quietly take out cameras or on IQ.
I agree Thunder however i still think its personal cause i have on Some guns suppressors to shoot things like cameras when I’m sneaking around to not alert enemies close by.

Okay thanks Thunder, and Jaldea.
I did see a video where it was recommended to use a suppressor on pistols for the main purpose of shooting out cameras, but to be honest, I am still relatively new to the game and still trying to learn the maps, so half the time I don't even know where the cameras are so by the time I try to be silent and shoot out the camera they've already spotted me haha.
Hey amcs,
I would personally definitely recommend the Assault Rifle instead of the DMR on Buck, it's hard to use at first but definitely makes it easier to quickly take down an enemy.Everything else looks good to me.
And if you would like to learn some maps then I would recommend taking a look at the map "blueprints" as people have created those.r6maps offers locations and callouts for a lot of those. Might be worth looking in to!
Okay thanks I'll give the C8 a try on Buck. And yeah I have looked at the blue prints of the maps, and some are definitely a lot easier to learn... Slowly getting more comfortable with the maps, but it's going to take a while to be precise on call outs knowing exactly which room they are in.
both Bucks guns are horrible for their recoil, its way overkill on what you can do with them because of it, i mean a shotgun under a barel but by shooting the gun still lifts up how is that even logical, his guns have unrealisticly high recoil and thats why i dislike playing him sadly even though i liked the charecter and ability.
I would advice on not using laser sights on shotguns since they land accurately where you hipfire.
While suppressors are useless since they don't reduce the recoil and are only useful when you are trying to takeout a camera without making a large bang like PbThuder said.
As a Blackbeard/Buck main I use the DMRs cause I love them they do a lot of damage and have a good rate of fire if your finger is fast enough.
