If you are looking at getting into SC i would say get the Mustang Alpha package for $42 great starter ship can hold its own in a fight.
i would agree with the mustang package alot better than the aurora apart from cargo space

What is it with games a monthly subscription these days :(... Well I will wait till my EvE subscription runs out before I sub Star Citizens otherwise I joined directly if it was just buy the game and go.
Riddersword game is no a subscription based game. Buy a base package you get game like any other game. They do have a subscription you can subscribe to if you like but all that gives you is some credit and a test ship for the month.
To play just need starter package nothing more.
I can recommend HDMS-Oparei on Hurston if you would like to see trees. That's where i took the screenshots.
@Riddersword As Destructor mentioned, Star Citizen and Squadron 42 are one time purchase games.
