Hello folks,
Got a bit of a problem here[:'(].
I bought a gtx 1070 and 2700X but now I that I put them in the pc it won't give out a video output.
I put the old card back in and now got the same problem.
The debug leds of the RAM and CPU are on when it starts up but turn off after a few seconds.
There is also a led indicator for the videocard and Boot but don't light up at any point.
Should mention that I didn't bother to delete the old drivers and just went ahead and put in the new graphics card.
I have tried to reset CMOS but no idea if I succeeded because I can't see the result.
And yes I have put the connection with the monitor through the videocard and checked the power consumption.
My specs:
New CPU Ryzen 7 2700X
Old CPU Ryzen 5 1600X
New GPU GTX 1070 8 GB
Old GPU GTX 1060 6 GB
mobo B350 gaming pro carbon
Memory corsair vengeance LPX 2933 mHz 2X8 GB
Psu corsair RM550x
Can somebody pls help? I am in agony
Rule 303: If you have the means, you have the responsibility to act.
Hmm, have you tried
1) Checking if you placed the RAM in the correct slots? Dual Channel memory requires to be placed in correct channels, and you can find which is which by your MOBO instructions manual
2) If both cards are doing the same thing, it might be your MOBO or the PCI-slot. Try slotting the GPU in another, or use the onboard VGA/HDMI on your mobo, to eliminate if the MOBO itself is bad.
3) Try to see what the LEDs do before turning off. They might be indicating the issue, which is also sometimes explained in the manual (3 quick flashes = this, so on)
If you have a spare power supply I would try swapping it and see if you can get into the BIOS.

Sounds like a fairly simple problem! I'm going to speculate here and say your new CPU likely doesn't have a bios yet for your MB depending on when you bought the B350. My suggestion is to swap the CPU out and see if that gets you a boot. If you do get a boot, head on over to MSI and get yourself their latest bios, and you'll be away.
I'd guess a faulty PCI-E slot, try another or test onboard (if applicable) as Alas said.
I think Zackey is spot on. You likely need to update your BIOS for the 2700X support. B350 boards did not work with 2nd gen ryzen unless they had the bios updated or came with it preinstalled (the box would say ryzen 2000 series ready.)
I am gonna go with Alas' and ZackeyTNT's suggestions.mostly because I don't have a spare powersupply or mobo.
I know the RAM sticks are in the correct slot since it worked for a year and didn't change anything with it.
Gonna try the old card in a different PCI - slot if swapping in the old CPU doesn't work.
Thanks for the help guys
ps sorry for the late reply. I didn't get notifications on e mail.
Yes folks, that worked.
just updating the bios did the job. swapped the videocards with ease and installed the latest nvidia driver.
Thanks for the help and especially ZackeyTNT
I actually have a similar issue. I cannot run all my RAM sticks because the 2700x will not run four sticks of RAM. My system would not even turn on; only the one LED light on my MOBO would light and nothing else would come on. I am currently running three sticks because I can't run all four. :(

My suggestion, and It may sound crazy, is to try and run three sticks of RAM and see if that solves the issue.
Sheath, this is actually a separate issue, different from the BIOS update required to get a 2nd gen Ryzen to work on a B350 board. This could possibly be helped by you updating to the latest BIOS for your board, but it is due to the memory controller on the 2700X being a bit picky with 4 sticks of RAM, as most 1st and 2nd gen Ryzen chips are.
One thing to remember is that when you buy a memory kit, it is designed to run by itself. A lot of people make the mistake of buying a 2 stick kit and adding another 2 stick kit to it later (or at the same time).
The SPD chip on the DIMM contains the factory optimized timings for the kit. If you have your BIOS set to use XMP mode for your RAM (gets the timings from the SPD chip), and you have 2 kits installed, your RAM settings will be too tight and your RAM unstable. You will need to loosen the timings (manually override the XMP) or not run in XMP mode which will result in your RAM running with a generic "safe" setting - usually much slower clock speed and slower timings.
They do make 4 stick kits - which will have the correct settings to run 4 sticks in the SPD chip.
