Hi all,
I am planning a road trip down the west coast of the US, starting in Vancouver BC and ending in Las Vegas for a wedding at the end of May.
In the process of planning, I thought of my awesome community and how you guys might be local, you could suggest the must-see/ must-visit places along the way.
So, what are your recommendations? Just consider, taking my wife and baby, so has to be family friendly!
Thanks,
Mav
Yosemite for sure.

Redwood Forest, Yosemite, Sequoia National Park. or just driving down the Pacific Coast Highway in general.
Thanks guys, any must-misses as well. People tell me to avoid LA... can I even avoid LA?
You can avoid LA, it's overrated and just traffic all the time.
San Francisco
Big Sur
Highway One South (along the Pacific Coast)
Hearst Castle - San Simeon
Santa Barbara
Malibu Beach
Santa Monica Pier
Disneyland
Mission, San Juan Capistrano
Mission Bay, San Diego
San Diego Zoo
Just to name a few.
If you wish to concentrate on an area, just email me. I am a California native and lived here for over 60 years.
Flap, CSDO
Hwy 1 down the coast and stop in at my home town of Ft.Bragg CA and check out the history of how the Northern coast rebuilt San Fransisco after the fires.
I myself have moved on to Montana.
Do you Ski? Go to Mt Baker in Washington.
I wouldn't bother with LA proper but Hollywood is cool if that's your sort of thing and Santa Monica or Huntington Beach are beautiful beachfront towns.
The La Brea tar pits are worth seeing too if you're in the area.
