Dreamus Pmed me in starcraft. I think I was looking for a starcraft clan at the time and dreamus so happened to be online at the time. Thats where the trouble began. That TAW smile that damned smile.
Anyway on the more serious side I'm happy to be here for the ride. I'm very glad to be here and I've met some amazing people during my time in TAW. That's what basicly made me stick with TAW
I like this thread, its quite funny thinking back to the days when i joined. I actually did some digging and found the exact thread that i was recruited through which is this one here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/107410/discussions/21/358415738205950353/I had dug up Arma 3 after not having played the game for a really long time. I was playing a little on public servers which was fun but not that entertaining in the long run. I thought to myself that i should give this game a real shot and sign up to a unit that runs actual operations.
So i made a forums post on Steam and asked if any unit would have me. WileyX had a very well organized reply as you can see in the thread and so I joined up with TAW after which i was assigned my DI which was Rifey.
Been playing Arma 3 ever since, 2 times a week for 5 years straight now.

I was recruited back when smite was a thing. Found the post on a reddit thread.
I chose to stay over other communities because of the friends made here, its positive environment its code of ethics promotes and the stability it has over other clans since it been around almost as long as I have been alive :P
I stayed for the community that TAW brings and the friends made along the way :)
Good luck with the recruiting!
Hi there,
I joined back in 2018 when Heroes of the Storm was still doing well and Blizzard supported it, then once it fell through my mate in the unit suggested join up with the OverWatch battalion where I have been since.
I have little love for the game so why I'm staying isn't much to do with the game, it is more to do with the companionship of the community and the loyalty I feel towards my mates for putting up with me and towards TAW itself for provide a common ground to do so. I have friends here, more than I have in my everyday life and in some ways they are more meaningful friendships as they are always giving me reasons to be happy and laugh.
When I joined the admin team and learned it is not all sunshine and rainbows it didn't bother me too much as life is complicated and you take the good with the bad for have a fulfilling life. If Blizzard was to shut its doors tomorrow then it wouldn't bother me as much as long as I still get to play games with my mates.
Thanks for listening, Fool [OW2 HDI]
I should say that I was recruited through a real life friend who I volunteer with to help with a local convention (Q-Con Belfast). The guy being Creig Stafford (I think he went by the alias Irish Panda). One of the best people I have ever met and it is such a shame Q-Con was put off this year due to Covid.
Hey there !
To be completely honest with you, I just saw a light and I entered ! I remember typing "War Thunder Looking for a Squadrons" and saw FlyingDutchman posts on Gaijin's forums.
So I decided to have a look at the website and also I was disappointed by the website on first look, I love the military structure that TAW has. So I signed up, got conatcted by my DI BiggestBot and here I am, enjoying our community and serving it as a Phoenix member !

Well about a year and half ago i was playing starcraft pretty hard and started playing in tournaments. My first match was vs some guy in this clan called taw and his name was marsbar. After the match i sent him a in game message asking him about his clan since i have never really been in a clan and have always been a solo gamer since most of the games i played were rts games and i was really heavy into 1v1"s so he sent me the link to taw.net and i joined. Never really had plans to stick around for a long time but after joining and seeing how much work these guys put in to making a great gamming community and how much fun i had right off the rip i stuck around. After a short time i got asked about doing DI work since i was really one of the only na guys in the group and after time moved into more positions. I left the sc2 division and moved to vanguard and help bring AOE 2 division
through spin up and then launch into army. So here i am a year and half later a CO over a battalion and great people not only in my division but also all around taw. So needless to say im here for the long haul.
Dreamus talk me into it xD
Haaiii .
I joined TAW basically because i have no where to look after comminity .
Well.. What TAW does have that no other have is basically no tolerate against bullying and such. I have been in other comminitys there that have been a factor. That is why i pick TAW ^^.
It is mostly because all the friends you get here! And the fact you do not had to stay in oly 1 game to just play. And i have crossed path with folks that helped me to take a step up. FL position had been held and so DI, with a lot of support .
TAW is filled with gamers that is also want TAW to grow!
This is my second family! I just adores it with the cool friends i have got to know and work beside .
Oh wow where shall I start
A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away little AntiStreik was in love with flying choppers on the Arma 2 Dominatiom server. Back then I basicly spent most of my time in that beautiful Ch-47 Chinook transporting people and equipment to and from the AO.
Well at some point a hole squad of guys with TAW Tag hopped into my chopper and from this moment on I was their personal transport.
And in the end of the day a member called Xomad texted me over Steam and asked if I would like to join their clan cause they could really need a good chopper pilot.
I agreed and thats how I ended up in TAW and I have to say it was definitly one of my best gaming decisions.
I got the chance to play with amazing people and make a lot of new friends and even after taking a break for 4 years you can always come back and feel welcome in an instance. Until you get kicked from Teamspeak by some old friends as a little welcome back message
Cant find you on teamspeak at the moment Anti but expect to be kicked when i see you
welcome back
Ah yes, something I never get tired of talking about.
I joined... because of TAW's ArmA 2 server. At the time, way back in 2012-2013 TAW's ArmA 2 domination server was huge, pretty active and fun to play.
However, there was one caveat. If you wanted to fly the big awesome huge big shooty boom boom jet, also known as A10 Warthog -- you had to be a TAW member.
Yes. That's it.

Wait how does this work, dont know how it works, hope it works.
First time to reply on our forums, still learning how this website works.
So I was looking into this game called Squad about a year ago, it was still in beta. It was the start of the covid and lockdown, and I finished school.
So I got myself Squad, and figured it was not a game to play alone or with only a couple of friends. So I saw a yt video telling me to look for communities. So went into the Squad community discord and found the TAW Squad division discord.
It was the only discord where they actually mesaged me, asking how i'm doin, so I joined.
But I joined because of the game, wanted some people to play with. So when school started again, attendence dropped like a brick. I didnt really care at that point, but then they messaged me, saying I couldn't stay if I didn't show up. Got an on leave status, but I really liked the game, and I am good at it. So our division started with a competitive battalion, and that's where I fell in love with this community, and decided I shall never leave.
Rip 3rd bat tho, the competitive thing failed, but it made me to what I am in TAW now.
I think for recruiting, something that I think works well, is a welcome channel in the discord, like our division has, where the people are welcomed by messaged from a DI, not only DI's tho, its nice every memeber can talk in there. This way you get an early communication with a potential recruit.
I joined up almost six years ago because I was looking for a group to play Heroes and Generals with. I saw a post on the H&G forums from a TAW member. (it might have been AndyStarz) I joined up because I liked the fact that there were rules of conduct in place and it wasn't just a free-for-all. I'd been in other groups as a server admin and had come to enjoy the no bs/drama gaming life. Still enjoying TAW and the friendships I've made here and hope to be here for a long time.
