i agree with Cannas, until there is a proper email list we should just use callsign@taw.net.
if everyone starts doing this uncoordinated, people will not know what email to send it through. i don't even think a ts channel with it in the description would do the trick for this. people are too used to the callsign@taw.net that now also having to remember this specifically for Vanguard would just cause more issues then it solves with people now sending some requests to this email and some to the other.
once there is a proper public emailing list, this kinda thing can actually be effectively implemented.
So I am a bit confused here. All of the VG staff that has chimed in say to use the new system. But Army Command is saying to continue using TAW.net emails.
So is the requirement to do both, or just one or the other? Seems this should have gone through the proper CoC before being posted so everyone is on the same page, and there is no confusion.
From what i can see is that Vanguard staff have set a system that is for all transfers or other items concerning VG goes to the two emails listed in the previous post. There are two emails for two levels being Corps and Divisional. Army command has now stepped in with that it still says in policy that we have to use the @TAW.net email domain. With that the conversation went into how the @TAW.net email system is defective due to emails not coming thorough or other issues like going to spam which is a minor one.
I hope this was able to sum this up
Arma 3 Division | AM2 Commanding Officer
I will add that Cannas has guided that while emails "being eaten" is a rare occurrence, any instances of this happening should be reported to Support so that they can chase down any gremlins.
How we'll know they're eaten is entirely down for debate as I guess the first we'll know is when someone chases something we never received
These are all normally answered inside of 24hrs so if anyone finds this is taking longer, go figure we've not had it.
I have send several emails before I left Vanguard that people just were not getting. So this is a problem now for the first time in a while. I do not support the idea of Vanguard having its own special system of transfer though. This will just create confusion and lead to transfer taking longer because of member not sending them right.
If the TAW email system isn't working correctly we should try and fix it, and only after that has been attempted and failed should we change how transfer are done, but even then it should a change that all of TAW takes and not one core.
who knew trying to use one email instead of multiple would have confused and upset so many people lol
Stiigletz - Don't mention that the sky is blue. You might open up another thread.
I'm not upset about this. In fact I stated I supported simplicity. I only questioned why still have two emails when you can make transfers one email that hits everyone needed.
As far as confused, well..... when you have one command saying one thing, then a higher ranking command saying another. I think asking that question is reasonable. Maybe it is just me, but if I have any transfers, I am going by what AC says to use.
Keeping things simple is best. If every division has a special procedure regarding the transfer process that is the opposite of simple.
I also help in this conversation
Good morning gents and ladies,
I would like to request everyone to stop making this a discussion point in a thread that is what originally was a announcement of a different system. If there are any problems with what the Vanguard staff have announced and put in place i humbly request to send it to the proper channels up your chain of command or down the chain of command. A topic that has been raised in this post is a valid one but does require its own post be it on the TFO, AL or even General forums.
Once again i am requesting everyone to move this to a other post or send it to the proper channels Thanks
Opened a discussion in TFO Forums: https://taw.net/forums/t/28326.aspxFeel free to share your opinion there, please keep low-quality and -effort posts out of there which seemed to have taken over here.
OK guys so now there are 3 forums on the same subject. As AC has said you are to use the normal transfer procedure to transfer members in and out of VG, the same way you do with the rest of TAW. So as you all now is that anything posted in the TFO forums can be seen down to AL right, but they cant post.
Adding these emails will not remove the requirement of all individual CoC is also cc´d as per policy, until we eventually standardize units emails and make them official all transfer requests should proceed as they were, using TAW email. Herse is your answer.
Thanks
As this thread no longer serves any useful nor positive purpose I will close this.
Further discussion is now available within the recently raised TFO Discussion thread instead: https://taw.net/forums/t/28329.aspx
