So folks, over the last few weeks SBD has coded a veritable feast of new modes for us to enjoy. 

 

We have double rush, red light green light, and grapple death rush as stable, repeatable tools.

 

It would be great to create TAW branded, persistent servers featuring the best of our efforts as recruiting tools, and we would like your help.

 

One of the limitations of portal is that the created set of rules has to apply to each map in the rotation. For our custom rush servers, this means one map is the practical limit. Each mcom has to be placed precisely in the 3D space of the map and not all the maps even have the ground in the same place.

 

However, red light green light uses the pre-existing conquest flags on a map which means it could be far more possible to create a server with multiple maps.

 

The trick is to find three maps where the same three flags pose an equitable and interesting challenge. Vehicles have to be the same for each map too.

 

So, with Arica, we shifted between B1 through 3. This cant work on most maps as there isn't three B flags on most maps.

 

Therefore, I ask your suggestions for three maps and three flags that work across all three. What do you folks think would be the best three maps to create a red light green light server out of?

 

As for double rush, we have offered you guys a few variations. We did Spearhead both ways, one where both teams flags start in the middle and one where the first flags were close to base. I am curious as to what, if any, differences these approaches created for you. We also had a version where the current flag moved in a non linear fashion. I would like to offer this mode via a persistent server, so would like to know your thoughts on how to show this mode off to best effect.

 

Finally, there's grapple death rush, a gloriously chaotic thing. Manifest is an excellent map for this mode, giving huge opportunities for using levels. Again, if you have a map in mind which you think may offer equally interesting opportunities, let us know. However, I am also curious as to whether it might be fun to combine it with red light green light. Instead of chasing mcoms, chasing a flag. 

 

I hope that we will be able to create a number of persistent servers to raise our profile and aid recruitment, your input will help greatly in making them as effective as possible.
