I already have so many games that I've bought through various Steam sales that I'm not playing that I'm thinking about continuing to not play those instead of buying new games to not play.

That said, I will likely give in to temptation and add to my collection of games I don't play.  Confused

And of course, like all other steam sales, it's of course recommended to wait till the last day to buy anything, unless it's a Daily Deal!

Steam sales are always fun to be a part of as steam really goes low on recent releases. Hoping for a good deal on Skyrim of course.

They make barely anything out of these sales, it's more of a promotional thing than anything else. If I buy a lot of games I'll probably spend just as much money as I would've on a single new game.

Doesn't make anything out of these sales for you? Steam or the developers? I imagine Steam makes out pretty well from these sales as I imagine the commission they make on sale is based on percentages, meaning that so long as people buy, they do fine. Couple this with the fact that some developers report making something like profits 40x more than their earnings for off-sale. Hell, a company like the one that made DEFCON and Multiwinia (I forget their names atm) pretty much got saved by a big valve sale.

Somehow, all of the statistics released about the sales leads one to believe that all around it's a good deal for developers and valve, and that no IPs are "cheapened" by it.

I know it's not the Steam Summer Sale, but this is still a pretty good deal considering it applies to new games as well. 25% off any list price in the store for the next 3 days. Use the coupon code: 25OFF-ALLTH-EGAME (the typo is on purpose)
