Hey XWick,
I totally understand as it is never fun when you get cheesed. However, it is a feasible strategy to do some sort of all-in type cheese in order to try and gain a victory. Will it get you to the top, no way, but by being familiar with them yourself you can be better prepared on how to react to them. Just as a means of practicing different builds/strategies, I use a rotating list when I play against the AI or even on the 1v1 ladder. Most of my matches revolve around a sort of standard fast expand, unless I see shenanigans, but I also throw in a cheese just to stay fresh on them. My goal with the cheese is not necessarily to win, but to just work on timings and transitions if it does not work. For an example, here is the current rotation (Terran specific) I have been using as I work on increasing my knowledge, mechanics, and skills:
The strategies hardly ever go exactly as planned, but practicing the all-in helps me defend when others do it.Happy gaming!
Well, i've been cheesed a lot recently i've learned a lot from them.
Recently i managed to hold a lot of cheeses, and after that i destroyed them with firebat drop / all ins.
Currently i'm high gold and i'm working on certain things i'm way to passive and i'm trying to work on that.
Thanks for the advice to!

OH, no problem, and I am by no means anything special. Just relating to your games and offering what I am currently doing to try to improve.
Heya,
Cheese is indeed part of the game, unfortenately and fortenately :P However, it all comes down to scout it (early) on time, to see certain types of (early) building (or no buildings at all), and important the nr of drones/scvs/probes and amount (!) of gas harvested (click on the gas buildings). Apaprt from that scouting around your base a couple of times to check for early canons, or proxy buildings helps too.
Then again, sometimes it is impossible to scout a cheese on time, and even if you scout it, not always easy to defend, even if you know it comes (especially on lower leagues it is more challenging to defend a cheese).
Yesterday I saw a beautiful game Twitch. TLO (Z) vs a Terra (T). TLO went 6 pool, and the Terran went double 11 Rax :P Then, the zerglins ran past the 2 barracks before they were finished. Instant GG moment :P Very funy to see that two players played a cheese build at the pro level :)

We should all embrace cheese to the point where we see someone cheesing us and say "ohh, he`s so cute" .
When you get cheesed, realize that it's only a game and about 10 minutes of your time taken up..or punish them.

I have always hated cheese. However, I cheesed for the first time yesterday on Neo Planet S. I proxy rax'ed marines into a bunker at the bottom of the ramp while he was expanding. I have to admit, the dark side is fun and definitely worth joining (especially on some maps).
What exactly is "cheesing" ?
"Cheese is a pejorative expression which refers to a strategy that is highly unconventional and designed to take one's opponent by surprise. In general, cheese is hard to beat if not scouted but easy to defeat if it is scouted."
"Cheese most often refers to an unexpected strategy that relies in large parts on lack of information and/or psychological impact on the opponent. Cheese build orders typically revolve around an early attack that, if undetected, is more difficult to defend than execute." - http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Cheese :
If cheese fails, however, you will be behind economically since you started the game making an army rather than building up your base. Cheese can be designed to win the game right then and there (or lose) or designed to impart some damage/gather intelligence while sacrificing some economy/ future tech.
Thank you gents.
