No problem mate :)
This is my first computer. Bought it back in may of this year. Why is a mechanical keyboard so important to you guys?
From what i read on the web, mechanical keyboards have a faster response time, from the distance that a key has to be pressed(due to the less layers between the plastic key and the signal that`s sent) which also creates a much more distinct and reliable feeling to the fact that you can press more keys at the same time without the keyboard freezing. Also they are more compact than the traditional keyboards which translates into more reachable keys to shorter travel distance between them. These are the main reasons i`m looking into a mechanical keyboard.
All great points :]
I would also like to add that it's more pleasurable to type on mechanical keyboards than regular keyboards. Really, the only part of your computer that you touch all the time is probably the keyboard/mouse. It won't improve your sc2 skills very much to get one, imo, but most people would not go back to soft dome keyboards once they have tried a mechanical keyboard. And it will probably outlast most rigs haha.
i am using the Raptor Gaming K1 because of its compact layout and black cherry mx switches. soon i will get me a "Das Keyboard" with uk layout and brown mx switches... its really just about your taste and what kind of pressure point you prefer for your keyboard. i find i can type WAY faster with mechanical keyboards and the anti-ghosting is really a plus for gaming too!
