&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We have double rush, red light green light, and grapple death rush as stable, repeatable tools.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It would be great to create TAW branded, persistent servers featuring the best of our efforts as recruiting tools, and we would like your help.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One of the limitations of portal is that the created set of rules has to apply to each map in the rotation. For our custom rush servers, this means one map is the practical limit. Each mcom has to be placed precisely in the 3D space of the map and not all the maps even have the ground in the same place.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, red light green light uses the pre-existing conquest flags on a map which means it could be far more possible to create a server with multiple maps.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The trick is to find three maps where the same three flags pose an equitable and interesting challenge. Vehicles have to be the same for each map too.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So, with Arica, we shifted between B1 through 3. This cant work on most maps as there isn&amp;#39;t three B flags on most maps.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Therefore, I ask your suggestions for three maps and three flags that work across all three. What do you folks think would be the best three maps to create a red light green light server out of?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As for double rush, we have offered you guys a few variations. We did Spearhead both ways, one where both teams flags start in the middle and one where the first flags were close to base. I am curious as to what, if any, differences these approaches created for you. We also had a version where the current flag moved in a non linear fashion. I would like to offer this mode via a persistent server, so would like to know your thoughts on how to show this mode off to best effect.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Finally, there&amp;#39;s grapple death rush, a gloriously chaotic thing. Manifest is an excellent map for this mode, giving huge opportunities for using levels. Again, if you have a map in mind which you think may offer equally interesting opportunities, let us know. However, I am also curious as to whether it might be fun to combine it with red light green light. Instead of chasing mcoms, chasing a flag.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As usual, friendly fire is on and vehicles are set to deploy only.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The two clone factions, the UN lead by Ryegoal, and the Cartel lead by Chyips, begin the season with all vehicles restored and access to the specialist gadgets of Falck and Liz.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Following successful espionage from both teams, they have access to more gene lines.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;UN: Angel, Boris, Blasco, Zain, Paik, Falck, Liz, Irish and Mackay.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Cartel: Crawford, Rao, Dozer, Caspar, Sundance, Flack, Liz, Irish and Mackay.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Toasters have schismed into OG toasters and Nova toasters. Your SL&amp;#39;s will be provided with more technical details on the differences.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The season is broken into three parts. Phase one is a mixture of clone v clone matches and coop matches. Phase two toaster vs toasters action. The final play offs will see the winning clone faction take on the winning toaster faction for ultimate victory over planet earth. So, no pressure.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Scoring is more complex than previous seasons. Scores will be tracked for teams separately from the scores for factions, thus creating a winner between the teams as well as a winner of the overall narrative. Each team, at some point in the series will get the chance to play as each of the four factions, including some matches where the UN team will play as Cartel clones, and vice versa.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Phase one begins this coming thursday with a coop match. Players will assume the role of OG toasters fighting a far larger force of nova toasters on a rush map. Should players win, then the SLs will have the opportunity to reactivate more specialist gadgets for the upcoming clone matches.&lt;/p&gt;

Both organisations having been provided with an experimental computer virus designed by UN scientists, designed to destroy the toaster AI. The Cartel had the honor of being the first group to be able to access an unprotected data node and, thus, inject the virus into the AI directly.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Weeks passed, and while the AI still seemed to be in control of 70% of the worlds shipping and manufacturing, it also ceased military activities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A meeting was called between the UN and the Cartel to discuss the situation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The representatives of the UN and the Cartel were testy with each other. The UN accusing the Cartel of failing to properly apply the virus, the Cartel in turn accusing the UN of creating a failed weapon. Only when the scientists were brought in, did things become clear.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;I&amp;#39;m afraid, Ladies and Gentlemen, that our virus did not work entirely as intended&amp;quot;, said the chief scientist, &amp;quot;However, all is not lost. It appears the virus, rather than destroying the AI, has caused it to, well, develop a split personality.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;We&amp;#39;re fighting two AI&amp;#39;s now?&amp;quot; asked a military advisor.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;Not exactly&amp;quot; answered the scientist, &amp;quot;It seems they don&amp;#39;t actually like each other....&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;

This means that if you are utilizing any of the assault rifles while playing one of the four specialists listed above, you will receive extra ammunition for your weapon! Each of the specialists will also have self-healing gear, which means if you get hit, you can heal yourself without having to wait for a medic (take in mind, there is a cooldown).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color:#c0c0c0;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;" dir="ltr"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#c0c0c0;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:11pt;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;"&gt;Within the assault class, there are four gadgets available for use. These are the Smoke Launcher (which is pretty accurate to the name of the gadget), the IBA Armor Plater (this will provide more protection so you take a little longer to be killed), C5 Explosive (for those rambunctious of us to want to get close enough to vehicles to slab three of these down to destroy them), and the M18 Claymore (pretty much for those who want to trap a door or entrance or a random area, or if you want to just sit around and camp, this is a good gadget!).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color:#c0c0c0;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

The Frag Grenade (it go boom), the Smoke Grenade (it go&amp;hellip; uhm, puff? It blocks the visual for pretty much everyone, even those using thermals, it&amp;rsquo;s weird), the Concussion Grenade (it really bright and make things difficult to do for anyone around it.. yeah), the Throwing Knife (yes, you can pick these back up after throwing them, just good luck finding it if you miss), and the Incendiary Grenade (it make fire).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Another perk is his Blast Resistance, when explosives are going off around him, he won&amp;rsquo;t take as much damage as other specialists, even while not using the shield!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The more activity we have on that server, the more opportunities we will have for people to catch TAW.net in game while browsing the server list. &lt;p&gt;After the battle at Manifest Port, the Cartel had another problem. The automated container ships were controlled by computers under their control, or so they thought. There were two such ships at Manifest Port that were unaccounted for and so the Cartel sent a small task force to check these ships out.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, a small unit of UN clones had been left behind following the retreat from Manifest Port. Some were hiding in containers near the ships and some had taken refuge in a small office building on a hill overlooking the port and, so, had a very good view of what happened next.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Cartel task force was about to board the first unknown ship, when an intense burst of EM radiation overwhelmed their comm systems. Suddenly, containers burst open and what appeared to be soldiers poured out of them. All identically dressed and armed. Other containers opened up to reveal armored vehicles. Almost immediately these mysterious soldiers opened fire on the Cartel, forcing them to retreat up the hill. The UN troops in the area also came under attack.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The UN soldiers on the hill watched in horror as these unknown troops cut a bloody swathe through the slower clones. It was a terrible thing to see, there was something cold, unhuman, about the slaughter as these soldiers killed both UN and Cartel clones. As the survivors reached the top of the hill, they met the other UN task force.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Quickly, they put their differences aside to meet the new, mysterious threat.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Cartel: Irish, Crawford, Rao, Dozer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Matches 1, 2, 4, and 6 will allow the teams to fight for the exclusive use of a number of new gene lines, which will be added to their options for all subsequent matches.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Specialists that can be won exclusively: Caspar, Paik, Zain, Sundance.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Matches 3 and 5 will not be played as competitive, team against team, matches. Instead they will be coop matches. If the teams win the match against the AI, then both teams win use of the gene line. If they fail, neither get to use it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Specialists that can be won by both teams:&amp;nbsp; Falck, Liz.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Matches 4 and 6 have an additional mechanism added on. The LOSER of each of those matches gets to choose a vehicle type to remove from subsequent matches. This represents the problems of maintaining complex military equipment in a world in ruins.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The four vehicle types are:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1. Jets, Hind and Condor.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2. All choppers, except Hind&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3. MBTs&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;4. Light Armored vehicles (includes MAV, RAM, etc, but excludes jeeps.)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Matches 7 and 8 will be played with no further changes, but with both teams enjoying the results of their work over the preceding games.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Scoring will be simple for all matches except 3 and 5. One point for a win on the night. The coop matches will receive scores, but in a different way.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The players who get on the end of round slide show (most kills, most revives, most objectives) will earn a half point for their team for each one. Thus coop matches have 1.5 points on the table to play for.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Other than that, all other standard TAW type rules and customs for internal competitions will be followed. Especially the one that says FS decision is final, but he is friendly and approachable, so plead your case. I&amp;#39;m sometimes merciful.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A form of battle stress, that has given rise to the persistent myths of zombies, has been known about since ancient times. However, it was WW2 before any serious attempts were made to study it. Such attempts proved difficult and costly in terms of both lives and equipment, and were soon abandoned. The research was halted, and the preliminary data stowed away and designated a state secret.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In the early 21st century, a South American cartel somehow stumbled across this research. With the advances that had been made in the interim, they worked out how to duplicate the effect, giving them an army of highly aggressive (and disposable) soldiers. The new technique had a drawback, in that the subjects exposed to the treatment became full zombies but were far less durable.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Further research revealed that, theoretically, certain genetic sequences would not be weakened by the treatment thus creating far stronger zombie troops. A search, worldwide, was made for the rare sequence. The first one found belonged to an Arms dealer named Crawford. Soon, the cartel found three more such sequences. Combined with advanced cloning techniques, it was not long before the cartel had built a significant military force on the basis of these gene lines.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This was not the worst of the situation. By now, the activities of the cartel had become a serious concern to the world&amp;#39;s security agencies. The UN authorized a task force who soon gathered some startling intelligence. Not only did the cartel have the technology to, essentially, clone super soldiers, they were also exploring the possibility of weaponizing the zombie treatment.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Research had discovered that the zombie virus was not a virus, or a bacteria. Rather it was a prion disease, hard to acquire but almost impossible to cure, or even treat. The cartel was planning to use a weaponized version of the prion to blackmail the governments of the world. A version that was not difficult to acquire, but all too easy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Clearly, such a situation could not be tolerated. Once intelligence suggested that the cartel scientists were moving the final version of the prion, a task force was struck to intercept them at Arica Harbor.&amp;nbsp; Despite their best efforts, the cartel scientists reached a boat and headed out to sea to rendezvous with a cartel freighter. Once they reached the freighter, a nuclear armed cruise missile struck the vessels, vaporizing everything in a half mile radius.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;An approach that would have worked if the problem was viral, but prions aren&amp;#39;t alive and are very hard to destroy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Three months later, a new version of the prion began to be seen in hospitals around the world. It soon became apparent that the condition had a very long incubation period, that allowed a very large number of infections. Four months later, it was estimated that no human on the planet had not been exposed to the prion.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It had a 70% mortality rate, but it was cruel, not quick deaths but slow lingering drifts into oblivion. Those who survived found themselves suffering a long term side effect, an almost total lack of energy. Society, slowly, ground to a halt. Institutions simply stopped working. The world really did end, not with a bang, but with a long drawn out sigh.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A weekly injection of a complex blend of vitamins and stimulants could keep a person, more or less, productive. However, the supplies of the ingredients for the shot became scarce as supply lines fractured.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Predictably, the cartel found an opportunity. Their own clone soldiers were immune to the prions weakening effects, and swiftly became the sole effective military force on the planet. Once again, what was left of the UN sought to counter the cartel. Again a world wide search was launched for gene lines that could resist the prion. Four were eventually found and, in secret, an opposing clone army was built to counter the cartel.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;By 2042, preparations were complete. A UN task force has been sent to Noshahr Canals to established a bridgehead, in a campaign to wrest control of the planet from the cartel. Further spice has been added to the operation as intelligence reveals that a ninth gene line has been discovered and is being held at the canals.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This sunday, for the first time, the Battlefield division will embark on a narrative driven competitive season. Our very own (forgive me) clone wars. Come along for a unique team based competition, using a wide variety of modes, some entirely novel.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A response was necessary, an international one at that. A UN task force was struck, and ordered to bring the scientists in to face justice.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A world wide hunt lead the task force to the outskirts of Arica Harbor. Intelligence suggested that the scientists were preparing to evacuate by submarine. The task force will have to smash through a number of barriers set up as a defensive rearguard, all manned by the best CZs (cloned zombies) the Cartel can make in order to bring the scientists in alive as ordered.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This will be a 45 minute rush map, Arica Harbor. FF on, all map specific vehicles enabled. All weapons enabled.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The UN task force will be played by BF3 soldiers, against the clone they faced last time alongside three others.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Despite the set back in South America, their techs felt they had the answer. They discovered a gene sequence, very rare, that once exposed to the zombie protocol did not lose vitality. A covert search for a bearer of the sequence was launched. The first one found was a European woman, her genetic material harvested and sent to the labs to be cloned.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;These new zombies were as quick and vicious as before, but now more durable, more able to keep fighting.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Of course, in an effort to avoid the same problems as in South America, weapons were not allowed on the site. No armor, no firearms.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It didn&amp;#39;t work. Anything is a weapon, as the techs soon found out.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A task force has been sent to take back the facility and capture any research.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Three days later, the woman was walking home from her job as a paramedic. She could have taken a bus, but she felt the exercise did her good. She never saw the men before they bundled her into the van and, following a sharp jab, she passed out.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A few hours later, she was found, unharmed and unconscious, outside the hospital where she worked. Investigations swiftly found she was totally unharmed. Apart from losing two pints of blood, and some hair.&lt;/p&gt;

Law enforcement began to hear stories of how this previously weak cartel had embarked on a series of hostile takeovers of neighboring organizations. Perhaps wisely, they avoided large centers of population, preferring to control the less populated areas between cities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, when a small military base was over run by what survivors described as merciless berserkers, international attention was drawn. The cartel began to build up an arsenal of modern weaponry, rapidly.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Intelligence soon revealed the awful truth. This cartel had managed not only to recreate the conditions that created the faster zombies observed in Operation Bangers, they had also discovered how to trigger the zombie condition at will. A new kind of biological weapon, one that could change the world.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A task force has been sent to the cartels data center, a remote village. They are tasked to destroy the data center&amp;#39;s computers to prevent the cartel selling their technology to the highest bidder.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There is one small ray of sunshine. It appears the method used to artificially trigger the zombie condition also reduces the durability of the poor victim.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This thursday, at 6pm PST, the Battlefield division will once again face the dreaded zombie horde. &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Allied Intelligence needed a field location, and a small village was located. Ostensibly in a relatively safe position, but close enough to the front to be able to process information quickly. The local inhabitants had all been driven out by the Germans months earlier, thus making it a simple matter of moving in.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, things went wrong quite quickly. A limited German advance by a small company made the location a bit more tenuous. The fact that they occupied a small chemical factory just a few miles away made people nervous. It was decided an air strike was the best response and the factory was duly bombed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, what the Allies were unaware of was that this small company had turned zombie some days earlier. Their unexpected advance a product of their worsening condition. What they could not have known in advance is what effect, if any, exposure to exotic chemicals may have on those afflicted with the terrible disease.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mere hours after the air strike, the Germans attacked the small village. Almost all the Intelligence personnel there was killed. Only one survivor made it back to report.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The news was grim. These agents had been in possession of very sensitive information regarding the upcoming advance into Germany. Information that, under no circumstances, could be allowed into enemy hands. Problem is, the lone survivor did not know where it had been stored. It was in one of several safes dotted throughout the village. It had to be destroyed before it fell into enemy hands.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A task force was quickly formed to enter the village and destroy all the safes with explosives. Intelligence, such as it was under the circumstances, suggested the Germans had no vehicles and so the task force set off in two transport trucks to execute their orders.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This Sunday, as it is the day when Americans celebrate their Superb Owl, we are taking a break from season two to reenact Operation Bangers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As ever, all you need is a copy of the game and a willingness to have your arm gnawed off at the neck in a good cause.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

Although, of course, their true nature has been distorted by the need to entertain. The phenomena was written about by ancient Greeks all the way back in the fifth century BC, and throughout history diligent scholars can find the hidden accounts of this terrible occurrence.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Zombies are a product of a very specific set of circumstances. There must be a number of humans, living together in close quarters, under extreme stress. Too few people or too many people, and it doesn&amp;#39;t happen. This means that, over the centuries, it&amp;#39;s been recorded almost solely among military units, serving in extreme conditions, far from home.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Outbreaks follow a familiar pattern. Firstly one individual develops the symptoms. They become single minded in their pursuit of combat, furiously consumed with a need to kill the enemy. In the midst of war, this is rarely seen for what it is. Others around them begin to exhibit the same behavior, all social activity ceases as their entire waking existence is shaped by the desire to be in combat. They talk sparingly, and only to facilitate the art of war. At this stage they start to cease eating food, although some accounts have them tasting the flesh of their downed enemies.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It is not long before the entire unit is taken over by the disease. It is important to recognize that it does not appear to effect memory or skills. Zombies can use all the skills they had before their affliction. But there is no longer any thought in their minds beyond a ceaseless and insatiable need to seek and destroy the enemy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nor are they slow and shambling. Indeed, they move somewhat quicker than before and are hardier. However, their bodies no longer heal without intervention.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;They eventually become a threat to both sides and, over the years, leaders have learned that the best response to these outbreaks is to destroy them utterly before they infect more people.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This Sunday, 29th Jan, we will be reenacting one of the secret battles fought against this relentless foe.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;November 1942., North Africa campaign, the Tunisian desert. A small German garrison succumbed to the disease, and a nearby Allied taskforce was ordered to engage and destroy. On the evening of November the 5th most of them engaged the German zombies at their garrison in the Tunisian desert. The attack was a disaster. There were no Allied survivors, although they did manage to reduce the number of German zombies and severely damage their vehicle pool.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On the morning of the sixth the remaining Allied soldiers, who had been left behind&amp;nbsp; to repair damaged vehicles, were ordered to take and hold Hill B1. It lay between themselves and the German base. The intention was to gain the attention of the Germans and cause them to attack the hill. In the meantime, a wing of bombers was being hastily assembled to come and destroy the zombies from the air. However, they could not be allowed to disperse across the desert.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The remaining Allied forces had to ensure the German zombies did not scatter until the air strikes could remove the problem from the face of the earth.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The story of the following thirty minutes will be told this Sunday at 6pm PST, or a little after. All you need to be a part of the secret history of the world is a copy of 2042 and the willingness to step up against overwhelming odds.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
