I'm actually really glad to be able to use steam for this. I have a super fun issue with origin where it decided I don't actually own BFV so to play it now I need to use their EA Desktop beta.

Pretty much what they said. Having to go through both launchers not worth it for me.

Plus, I'm with EA Play Pro, which basically paid for the Ultimate Edition, at a lower price, without all the "other" games coming later on

Origin.

Same with Poopysoft games: you have to start their dedicated launcher before you play. The only downside of buying it on Origin is that you can't join your friends from your friend list in Steam, when you're still outside the game itself. But, BF4, BF1, and BFV share an in-game friend an matchmaking system that is tied to Origin anyways.

Also, checkout EA Desktop. It's still in Beta, but it will fully replace Origin soon, and it's performing a bit better than Origin does, i.e. performance and UI design.

If it's going to require Origin either way I will just put it on Origin with all my other BF games.

With B2042 being available for Steam (which if I'm not mistaken, is the first time since BFBC2), I'm curious to know which platform you all are planning to get the game on. Me personally, I'm leaning more towards Steam, since normally the only time I open up Origin is to play my BF titles lol.
