Good morning; a pre-thankyou to anyone who can help me.

I finally got a new PC about 3 weeks ago. I built it myself and was very proud when it worked. This was my first build in nearly 7 years.

Pertinent PC Build Details:

AMD RYZEN 3700X

Corsair Vengance RGB PRO 32GB DDR 4 3600

ASUS TUF GAMING X-570 stock bios version 1404 I believe

I got arrogant this morning and tried to adjust the ram speeds in the bios on my own. It seemed straight forward, I bought DDR4 3600 ram and it was running at stock 2133mhz. So I went into the advanced menu and turned the DRAM speed up to the advertised speed, left all other setting on auto and restarted.

Now when my PC tries to boot I get stuck in the DRAM section as indicated by the little yellow indicator light on my mother board.

What a blunder! Now I am just staring at the yellow light wondering where it all went wrong.

Any help that you could provide me in recovering from this colossal error would be appreciated.

My main goal is to boot back into windows so that I can play some video games on my Saturday off. My secondary goal would be to achieve those advertised ram speeds.

Please ask any questions that will help you help me!

Get your MOBO install/owners manual out and look for bios reset, doing this will reset your bios to default/factory spec's. Please follow the instructions carefully, step by step. Always use the greatest of care when dealing with anything that alters your Bios settings. The Bios is the first set of instructions that tell your PC what to do in order to start up. Good luck...

Resetting the RTC RAM via the jumper on my MOBO seems to have done it. Now I just need to get my RAM timings to reach the advertised specifications. Thankyou for your help!

Hey Hammer

Sorry only saw this late last night, the X-570 DOCP has been having problems with shutdowns. Don't know if you've read through this? It's an overclocking guide from Corsair for the Ryzen 3000 chips.

try to activate the XMP profile. then your RAM should work at 3600MHZ (2x1800MHZ)

//:edit:// in the bios you ll find the RAM profile settings

Good afternoon,

I'm unsure what product number your RAM is, but you should take alook at this list of compatible RAM with your mobo: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/TUF_GAMING_X570-PLUS/Memory_QVL_2nd_Gen_AMD_Ryzen_Radeon_Vega_Graphics_X570_0730.pdf?_ga=2.235687489.1122423410.1584969916-1199044916.1582717782

Certain speeds will only work with certain latencies. I can help you further if I know the parts number!

Kind regards,

Good advise from all, you should be able to activate the DOCP / XMP profile in your BIOS which should apply stable settings. If that still does not work, you may need to tweak settings to get it to work at that speed, keep in mind Ryzen is a bit picky about some of the higher RAM speeds, though Ryzen 3k series is much improved on that.

If the profile does not work when applied, you may want to adjust timings and VSOC, search for Ryzen RAM calculator.
