It appeared to me that a new game launched into Army!
Can someone explain to me how the game 2nd Corps Command is played?
I'd really like to learn more about this game. The title sound wonderful to me!!
You're only as strong as your weakest link
Isn't that the one where you get a gump medal as a pre-order bonus??
I believe so too!
LOL
And the nomination for a new Gump is.....
BaronSHOP DC
"How may I help you?"

I don't remember approving this new unit....
I really appreciate your diligence in awarding me a gump. I look forward to returning the favor someday.
Cheers,

it's on like Donkey Kong!

@DutchAvenger - You do realize you can't Gump someone in a position higher than you or who is not in your chain of command. Obviously since a Gump only requires TFO permission you were able to do so admin wise but, you shouldn't have...you should have found a CC member to do it for you.
Think you just earned a Gump yourself...2 Gumps if you include both mistakes.

I thought the commendation system was designed to check for this, so that only commendations of members under the CoC of commending member would be approved. Otherwise the commendation would be pending, and have to wait for the correct CoC. Well, I guess it's not perfect :P
Anyway, funny stuff, congrats!
This is definitely a funny situation, it's always nice to see new games being brought into TAW and successfully spun up
But I do believe DutchAvenger awarding HappyJack a Gump Medal is a forgivable but easy mistake to make as it doesn't say in policy that one "can not award a Gump Medal to someone of a higher Rank/Position" and is what we refer to as an "unwritten rule". Nor do I believe it is written down anywhere as a Standard Operating Procedure so one can not confirm through their own research that a higher ranking/position holding member must award the Gump Medal. If you have proof that states the opposite of this, please feel free to share. Also, as ShmeeCow pointed out, the website should have noticed that DutchAvenger is not in HappyJack's CoC and not allowed him to approve the medal, but only put it in the system for approval.

It is in policy that HappyJack's unit would have to approve the award.
1.3 Section 3: Badge and Medal Awarding: Filed under: 1.3 Section 3: Badge and Medal Awarding Badges and medals can be awarded to any active member in TAW by any division. However if the member is not in the division giving the award, the divisional leadership of the recipient's division has to approve and apply the award. A member must meet all the requirements set by the division to obtain the badge or medal. A member cannot submit an individual commendation for themselves. This is not an exact parallel because HappyJack does not have a division, he has a Corps, but the intent of the policy is that if the member giving the award is not in the same unit as the recipient, then HappyJack's CoC (the AC/ALC) should have been the ones to approve it.
