DICE and EA have finally unveiled the dates for the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta!
Battlefield 2042 Open Beta will run from October 8th, at 7:00 UTC / 300 AM ET, till October 10th at same times, with players who pre-ordered or are members of EA Play starting early on the 6th.
Yes, pre-load starts on October 5th
On Steam:
Head to the Battlefield 2042 Store Page, and Request Access to the Open Beta. Make sure your EA account is linked and you should be able to download it there.
On Origin:
Head to the Battlefield 2042 Store Page, and click "Try it First". That should prompt you to add the Open Beta to your library, where you can start downloading it.
On Epic:
Head to the Battlefield 2042 Store Page, and click "Join Now". This will add it to your Library, and installing it will open Origin.
Players will be able to play on the Orbital map, in all its glory, with 4 specialists, Mackay, Falck, Boris and Casper. You can find more info about the map and operates linked.
Yes, No........Maybe. Check if your PC meets the requirements
Yes! They are currently in Vanguard, as a Tier 3, with transfers only open for positions. If you would like to join their hype and discussion, feel free to join the Division Discord: TAW - Battlefield 2042
If you bought the game via Steam, Origin or Epic, you should automatically get the Open Beta in your Origin Library. If you ordered on other sites, they will be sending you a beta code via email really soon, so be on the lookout for it!
No.
Well, start by making sure no work is there on that day. Make some excuse to bail on that family event, and stock up on some snacks and drinks. You can also make sure your drivers are up to date, and you have enough space on your SSD.

You forgot to mention that the open beta for everyone is October 8th.
Oh, I'm ready...Notice that from the time of writing EA Desktop doesn't seem to list the Open Beta, however it's there on Origin. Furthermore, if you pause the download on Origin, you can continue downloading on EA Desktop, so it might be added in the future, or the Beta build for EA Desktop is just very crappy.
EA Desktop seems to be working fine now. For all platforms you first have to go to the store page (Origin or Steam Store) and add the beta to your profile before you can download it.
Updated post with How-To for the pre-load and links.
Right on, looking forward to it. We should meet up in the Battlefield channel or create a beta channel for it.
