Gump Stories

This JUST happened today.  

So I'm playing a game and I get a message from SheerRoachMonkey that he made a huge mistake.  Somehow...he managed to demote himself from LtCol to Recruit.  He had to ask immediately if he could have this error of his fixed.

For anyone who wants to add to it, here's his Gump

This actually reminded me of the GUMP I gave my CO a while ago now. This one was well deserved after he manged to award the whole Starcraft division, current and former members the Drill instructor badge. This was quickly fixed by contact with the support nonetheless it was quite funny.

Well, I did it.  I earned my Gump within a week of my DC getting his.

A member was asking to transfer to Ops and trying to help out and completely forgetting that it's handled differently when someone goes to Ops instead of the transfer through Army, I transferred the member myself..causing a few issues and probably causing SuperTreky to lose some more hair.  Put my DC is a great mood to start his day off.  I'm gonna wear this one with pride and remember to ALWAYS double check Standing Orders in the future lol.

Fast forward a week.

This JUST happened today.  

So it's a little bit after 5 am, I wake up and sip my coffee. I check mailbox and see Rekon confirming a member was transferred to OPS. Shortly after Brave and SuperTreky respond, and it was clear what those had to mention: a well deserved gump. Let me just say I knew that Rekon's gump will come eventually, but why did you have to put poor OPS up to more work?

Oh, a piece of trivia that makes it even more hilarious: Rekon proceeded with transfer via... his cell phone :D

"Go Big or Go Home" I always say.  I've always been one for trying to set standards, in this case, what not to do lol.

My CO and I got into a bit of an argument over website permissions,

he claimed he should be able to demote me even though I'm of a higher rank (me being a LTC and my CO being a CPT) while I - (believing that our website backend designer envisioned such a case would not allow an officer to demote an officer with a higher rank) said he could not! 

Alas I was proven wrong and was demoted to 1LT. The funny part was when my CO failed to understand why he can't promote me back to my previous rank ol LTC which got him a gump :)

So I got my gump when I was first assigned as SO for the RS Division EU Battalion.

I was new to the job and a member told me he was having internet problems, so to prevent him getting AWOLs I went on the next 4 events and edited the attendance, set him as excused and hit save.

Lone behold I gave 90% of our entire battalion 4 AWOLs and broke the attendance for over 2 weeks as nobody could excuse themselves.

This is an old story but a quite good one!

When I was DC my CC decided to approve my DO request and promote him prior to a mandatory of which I couldn't attend. He caused havoc by being out of uniform because he had given himself DC tags! But that isn't even the best part. When I got home and cleared up all the messages I received from the out of uniform issue we had two discharges to be put through the system. So I thought, ah, a perfect time to show my new DO how to do so by me taking one and walking him through the process so he could do the other. Easy, or so I thought.

He was forwarded the discharge request for a NA Battalion member called 'Rozn'. After walking through all the steps and him submitting it I proceeded to refresh the Dossier for that member asking "are you sure you submitted it?" At which he replied he had and it was showing "submitted" on his screen and that they were no longer active members of TAW.

Well long story short, we had an EU Battalion member who had just been reinstated into TAW that very same day. It turns out that, that same member was the one he just kicked out, as his call-sign was 'Rozer'. So Rozer had to be reinstated again after being AWOL DC'ed less than 10 hours after his return into TAW. I also got a very concerned and confused email from the member asking what happened "plz....don't kick me......i just got back in my country"

In the end, two mistakes on Day 1 of the job that well deserved a Gump for ScoobyHusky

Killed my DO in cold blood with a pan while others watched after he revived me PUBG....

UNDEADKILLA's GUMP

Last week RoE NA CO Undeadkilla came to me and let me know he did an accidental "oopsie" on issuing some EDU Courses and date stamped them wrong.  Less than 4 days later, he repeats the same error but all 12 of the courses, he date stamped almost a full year prior to when the member joined TAW (they joined 15 days ago and the tabs were issued dating Jan 2018).
