Can you start by providing us with your name rank and position?
Colonel cherrylanekilla
Operation Support | Media Division | Division Commander
Thinking back, what drew you to TAW?
I was playing with the GR Division on their server as a non member and found them to be 'family appropriate', professional, open and helpful.... and I was a non member! THAT impressed me. Nice guys.
What are some favorites? color, food, ice cream, book, movie, song, sport, etc
I coached swimming and soccer for too many years... love them both. (yes, waterpolo too). As far as food - the hotter the better. Love all music.
What are the goals you are still working toward?
My goals are to develop the media division into a full operating/contributing attribute of TAW...more than it is already.
What was your first impression of TAW?
lol, My first impression was one of organization, professionalism and style. I was taken back a bit by the ranking and formatiliy but got use to it (no previous military experience other than my vice principal in HS)
What's the best/worst thing to happen since you started working with TAW?
The GR division went through a lot of changes when I was there...those were all hard but now I understand the reason. Back then I did not agree what so ever.
When you last volunteered, made a donation, etc., how did that make you feel?
I have been a volunteer all my life. It’s what I do so it felt natural. As far as a donation....anything to better the whole. Stuff ain't cheap.
If you could change one thing about TAW, what would it be?
I would create a "reserve unit' for each division. Those on leave would be placed in there...and those that cannot (due to work etc) commit to twice a week. Floaters. I think we lose some due to that but also understand the reason behind such policy.
What do you wish other people knew about TAW?
WE'RE NOT A CLAN
Tell me about some of the people you've met while working on TAW?
Goose is one of my long lasting people I've meet. Stand up guy. Rahnman is also someone that is value-added, IMHO. The whole GR division as well.
As far as others - I've meet a lot over the two years...and I have to say they've all been people I'd stand with in battle. The thing is, people that have been around TAW...that are visual members....are exceptional people. I love to hear what they do in real life...and their views on topics related and sometimes not related to TAW dealings.
When your friends/family find out that you volunteer, donate, etc., what do they say or ask?
As a teacher, I talk a lot about TAW with my students as many of them are gamers themselves. They think it’s cool of course that their teacher is a gamer, lol. As far as my family - well, they always watch me play and my son actually jumps up and talks to guys when I step away (he's 5...future CIC).
Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work with TAW?
Goose -- 100% If I could be half of what he is...winner winner chicken dinner.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
lol..where do I start?
What would you tell someone who is thinking about donating, volunteering, etc.?
Just Do It! Even $1.00 a month not only is good stuff, but every and anything helps. The value-added is priceless.
What do you think will change about TAW over the next five years?
As long as we stay ahead of the curve on new game releases - we're golden.
I do believe we were behind the ball on CoD/BO but Feanor and the guys have reinvented Vanguard and it is quite impressive as to how it works now - well done.
What do you do when you aren't working, volunteering?
Teaching (kinda the same), fishing on my boat...
What else can you tell me about the TAW?
Top Gun #1 fun.
