In-The-Scope: PattonsFinest
The officers of TAW's Company of Heroes division (CH) have had a bit of a rough go of late but one guy who has put forth his best foot to help keep things moving is PattonsFinest. The command staff in CH barely hesitated to name this platform gaming gym rate when asked which officer best represents what CH is about and From the Battlefield was there to get the scoop soon after.
Tell us first why it is that you decided to join TAW. Why pick TAW over the other clans available and why stick around?
I decided to join TAW for the opportunity to play with real people that I could get to know. When I first learned about TAW I was too young, but when I was eligible, I joined up. Because of the people I met and really respected, such as Brad, Anaconda, and Tomodawg. I was willing to stick around no matter how much difficulty we ran through.
What sets TAW apart from other gaming communities you have encountered?
I believe that is in the regulations. Because of the regulations it is almost impossible to duplicate the strictness, yet brotherhood of the guys you meet.
You have been with the CH division your entire time in TAW, do you ever play any of TAW's other games?
No, I have not since I'm more of a PS3 guy.
What about games that TAW doesn't play, what other games to you spend your time with?
I play NHL 13, MLB the Show 12, Madden 12, and FPS games on the PS3
About you, what is something about yourself that your TAW clanmates may be surprised to know about you?
That despite being one of the more active players, this is probably what I spend my least time doing, I probably spend twice as much time either in a gym or playing baseball.
You've picked up a pair of badges and a medal as a sniper in Company of Heroes, do you always fill the sniper roll or is that just your strong suit?
Ironically, there is no such thing as a 'sniper roll' there are 4 primary roles. 1st is support, who supplies mgs, mortars, snipers, and support vehicles to the battle, which is like DeltaValkyrie. 2nd is the spearheader, who blobs vicious amounts of powerful infantry to defeat their enemy, which is more like me. 3rd is the vehicle master, who, like support spends resources on tanks and vehicles, but spends considerably more time on conserving his tanks, while support focuses more on infantry, which is Rydon. The 4th and final role is the artillery, which is the job of breaking up heavily defensive locations, who can be relatively anybody.
What do you feel that CoH has to offer other members of TAW, what would you say about the game makes it a good game for any member to give a shot?
You have to be strategic and willing to operate well with others, but more importantly you have to be fine with getting destroyed a few times before you really begin to learn, I'd suggest waiting for CoH2 before just jumping into this genre.
