The Best Gump in TAW
Back in August when Battlefield entered Vanguard, there was some talk of breaking the Vanguard record of a single team launching with the most members currently set at 248 for Planetside 2. When that news got out to Battlefield, we were told that would not be an issue with the might of Battlefield. Little did the Battlefield team know that the Escape from Tarkov team was also working on breaking this record.
Then there was Antistreik and there was Natalino, both in VG channel with puffed out chests claiming they would be the one to break the Vanguard record of most members for a launching team. AntiStreik with all his confidence in the world and Natalino who says if there is a recruiting drive, HE WILL WIN IT. No problem.
These claims were easy to make and so the gauntlet was thrown down.
Launch the team and break the record or earn a gump.
Battlefield 1 launched on the 20th November but failed to break the record. Therefore graciously Anti accepted his gump.
Now it was the turn of Escape from Tarkov. Could they do it? Could they break the record and keep Natalino’s honour or would he also be named and shamed……………..
Congrats Nat, you did not win this recruitment drive, here is your gump. (We would never forget something like this bud)
Even with both team’s numbers combined, they still only managed 223 members. Good try guys but regretfully still no cigar!
Everyone please feel free to comment on Natalino’s special medal.

9 commentsguys that's just mean..., I know Nat, he is awesome that way, but plastering it as a blog on the main page, come on, give my former apprentice a break :P
I love it. A friendly competition between two leaders and units is healthy. This post made my day! Good effort to both teams and congrats to both Antistreik and Natalino on their medal!
Sometimes you earn ETERNAL GLORY sometimes you become a LEGEND about which there will be stories told for decades to come :) At least both of you aimed high and pursued the goal. Not many would do that.
My mama always said, ‘Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get
Why does this medal look much better than the one on my dossier? Can you get that one changed to this one please? lol
Haha I love this though. It just made my day when I saw it. I love you guys for it really. And I know that many hate the gump medal and some even take it way serious and would go deep into drama (I have even heard a recent one). But for me the gump medal is for those who messed up but not a punishment (More of a shame but not in a bad way). It is something to look back at someday and laugh about with the people involved and I love VG staff and we will be laughing about this everytime. Oh and if you add TD and EFT together its around 220 at launch. So we were not that far haha. Anyway though, thanks for the great experience. VG broke 2 records this year and I am glad to be part of both. The last one, just got to wait a little while in there. P.S: Why is my hair purple? MAN!
I like the GIF. :)
This is not by any means the best Gump. Not that I would know many stories, but the few I have heard which go back to breaking the complete website functionality or taking the TS server offline by the click of a mouse were way better. Just saying. Clickbaiters.
Yeah... I'm pretty sure the best non-recognized Gump Award should have gone to Zoloft when he removed himself from TAW instead of the person who requested the discharge... while in CC. If anything these guys should be getting a variety of other medals for bringing that many people into the guild.
I think they both should wear their medals with pride. Heroism is not the act of accomplishing a task, but rather the courage and determination of attempting the act. I think both have shown true TAW courage and bravery to even take on such a task. As the world looks at the medal as a throw back to Forrest Gump, I see it as Greatly Undertaking Massive Problems :)
