Welcome to the August 2017 edition of the VG newsletter. It has been a quiet month with the only notable achievement is seeing Players Unknown launch end of July. By the end of August we do hope to be in a position to be able to launch another team with Rocket League which is very close and then to be able to flip Cross Out from a Horizon to full spin up team.

Vanguard Game Testing channel
The purpose of this channel is to help VG determine how much interested a game has. It also gives us a place to find other members who play the same game. This channel is right below VG HQ, but above Horizon.

This month we started up our Oceanic Battalion which is being led by recently reinstated Laggyfish and it's already filling quickly with members!
Aside from that we have had a scrimmage match against another community -DI- where we learned a few things!
The biggest news however is that this will be the last report from Players Unknown as a VG team as on the 30th July we were successfully launched to 1st Corp.

There have been too many moves and promotions in July to capture them all effectively here, but nonetheless everyone who has stepped up to give back to the group is deserving of thanks and recognition. It is a group brimming with enthusiasm. July saw membership numbers overtake seventy and they continue to climb steadily through active public recruiting and some internal TAW transfers. AWOLS and discharges are low, and attendance during and between events has been high.
For those who don't know, Rocket League is a bit of a departure from the typical cadre of TAW games. Rather than a combat or warfare inspired game, Rocket League is a game of soccer (football/futbol) played from a rocket powered jumping/flying cars. It takes 5 minutes to learn how to play, but thousands of hours to master. RLG is fortunate enough to have a number of members who play at the highest levels (Champion/Diamond Ranks), and they have all been very generous in sharing their knowledge with fellow members in both official training and during casual gameplay. The overall skill level of the RLG Division has improved day by day as a result.
RLG welcomes players of all skill levels and matches take less than ten minutes, so drop by say hello and join us for a couple rounds! We will see you on the battlefield.

Rust is currently going through a bit of reorganisation. Due to low numbers on the EU side, the NA and EU battalions have been merged into a joint battalion to simplify the admin and organization of the team as a whole.
Additionally, to help get the team back on track Ivleth has been stepped up as the SUL. His efforts are already having a positive effect on the team as general activity on TS for RT has increased substantially as has the onboarding. Over the coming month we hope to push numbers up further, be able to step up additional staff and bring a lot more organized and varied event content.

CrossOut has launched on Steam. Our Division is now at 60 Members. We are starting Clan Battles the week of 7/31/2017 with a system that will benefit all CrossOut players in TAW, so if you play and don't have tags in game let RaGe know and we will get you tags.
