Battlefield Division Update—April 2014

With the election of a new Commander in Chief, Bravehardt, TAW has undergone sweeping changes across all corps and divisions. For the Battlefield division (BF), these changes include the following promotions:

  • VERMGUY promoted to 2nd Corp Lt. Commander
  • Botch promoted to Division Commander
  • DoctorKajita promoted to Division Officer

• Battlefield America Battalion (BF 1):
  • NavyChief promoted to Vanguard Lt. Commander
  • Colt promoted to Commanding Officer (CO)
  • Witness promoted to Executive Officer (XO)
  • GhostEye promoted to Staff Officer (SO)

• Battlefield Oceanic Battalion (BF 3):
  • SirParadox promoted to CO
  • nova promoted to SO

• Battlefield America Competition Battalion (BF 7):
  • Mercenary promoted to CO
  • RazorEdge promoted to XO
  • Slamscape promoted to Field Specialist (FS)
  • Qtip promoted to Training Specialist

   

Please congratulate and thank these individuals that have stepped up into these crucial roles to help continue to make BF thrive and be one of the most prestigious divisions in TAW. Existing staff members (not mentioned above) are also recognized for their hard work and commitment.

Twitter and Twitch

BF continues to be on the cutting edge by leveraging content through Twitter and the newly formed Twitch account. These interfaces are used to promote game-specific content, such as discussions in the public Battlefield forum, blog posts and live streams of events. BF is also working with Operations Support (OS) to utilize the main TAW Twitch account, doubling the exposure of our content.

In addition, as announced in the 14 February 2014 blog post, the division Twitter account has seen a continual growth of followers, which not only outputs original TAW content, but also is used to engage with the broader Battlefield community. This has been a combination of TAW members and external community members. To receive a "Twitter Follower" tab, please refer to this forum post.

Tides of War

The second season of the Tides of War (TOW) campaign started last week for BF 1. This season continues the tradition of a four platoon format, which at certain times will be combined to form a faction. Dynamic Events, a wild card system that limits what weapons, gadgets and loadouts a team can use, will be implemented into this season. This will require platoon leaders to come up with interesting tactics to mitigate any disadvantages that may come with these restrictions. ChuckFX, the FS for BF 1, has implemented Dynamic Events for a way to promote "outside the box" thinking and to remind players to appreciate the combined-arms options the game provides.

LevelBF

LevelBF is an organization that creates tournaments for the Battlefield community. Their tournaments focus on the collaboration of various Battlefield community members to work together as a team. This means that their tournaments are not a clan vs. clan format.

Recently, LevelBF has been in discussions with TAW about their Season 5 Tournament, a 32 vs. 32 player tournament that is broken up into two tiers: Veteran and Open (sign-ups for the Veteran Tier are closed).

At this time, all TAW members are encouraged to register for an account at the LevelBF website and on 7 April 2014, sign-up for the Open Tier. Please refer to their schedule for a full list of key dates.

Players may be able to specify which friends they would like to play with (up to four for a squad of five), but a full TAW team will not be fielded. This is an opportunity to play with other members of the Battlefield community. We have been given approval to recruit during these tournaments; it is highly encouraged.

Naval Strike and TAW Servers

Less than a week from when DICE communicated to its eager minions (i.e., us), the Naval Strike DLC was made available for Premium players on 31 March 2014. TAW Battlefield 4 servers have been configured to run Naval Strike. For a list of servers run by TAW, please contact the Server Administrator or Server Technician.
