News from the Front

Welcome to our first News from the Front, our monthly update coming straight from the Frontlines of the Battlefield Division.
Starting off with our Division, with two months having passed since release, the Battlefield 1 Division is continuing to be one of the leading divisions in TAW. We have grown our membership count since launch by double, and continue to sustain solid attendance throughout the multiple battalions. Our veteran staff continue to lead with passion and desire to always improve, with each fulfilling their roles to the best of their potential. We are of course always looking for new people to fill positions that we consider of utmost importance, such as our DI's positions, and our TI's as well. If you consider yourself eligible and interested, the battlefield team would love to have you.
On other news, since the release of the Rental Server Program (RSP) mid-November, our staff has acquired a total of 4 servers in order for us to conduct our practices on and allow members of TAW to play on as well. We currently have two North American servers, and two European servers. Simply search TAW in the server browser and add them to your favorites. Be sure to join the Battlefield Channels whenever you have a chance and play with our members for more fun!. If you have any input or feedback regarding our servers, please feel free to email our server administrators, they will be happy to help. Two of our servers are currently running the newly released map, Giant's Shadow.
Getting into more exciting news, with the release of Battlefield 1 in the new unexplored era of World War 1, and the limitations currently imposed on servers, it has been hard to do practices as they were always conducted in the Battlefield Division. However, thanks to the ingenuity and passion of our staff to overcome any obstacles, as well as the dedication from our members, we just started our first Preseason of Frontlines, the new but long known campaign series conducted by the Battlefield Division that pits two teams made of our members, led by experienced PLs, for control of territories in a map created by our staff. In celebration of the new campaign series and desire to always bring something new to the table, several of our members created a unique website to host the campaigns map, along with any information members might require regarding it. The website in particular is: BattlefieldMap.com. The website shall be the hub of our campaigns in Battlefield 1, and will continue to serve our members with an easy and gorgeous way of viewing the campaigns, as well as keeping up with them. We will continue to improve on it, and try to make it even better with every iteration of Frontlines. (Please feel free to check out the website and give us any feedback or concerns you have, as we are currently alpha testing several features on it, including our map and response times.)
Frontlines will be the latest in what our Division staff can offer to members. We hope that after our first Preseason we include both our EU and OC battalions, and continue to build on every successful campaign.
As for more recent news, Battlefield 1 will be receiving its first free map update today, November 13th. Any members who pre-ordered the game or have Premium access will be able to play on Giants Shadow, a map based of the Battle of Selle. The map will feature a giant crashed blimp in the center, separating both sides from the other, with an armored train providing help as a behemoth. Members who have neither pre-ordered nor purchased premium will acquire access to the map on November 20th.
The update will also bring a patch containing much awaited features, such as the all new and improved Spectator mode. This will allow all the creative folks of Battlefield 1 to show us all the creative ideas and plans they have in store for us. One such member is our European PIA, SogToast. He plans to release a new recruitment video for TAW Battlefield and hopes that it will meet everyone satisfaction. Speaking of which, if you have any clips that you wish to submit to be featured in the next video, whether or not you are in the Battlefield Division, please feel free to check out this forum post. If you need any help with recording your game, please check out the PIA channel in the Battlefield Division Teamspeak, or contact either of our PIAs.
Last but not least, the update will include much needed changes to gameplay, especially gun-play, as well as performance tweaks and improvements across all platforms. You can see more details about the December patch here: Patch Notes.
That should be all for this month edition of News from the Front. We hope to continue growing as a division and continue leading as one of the premier ones as well. We look forward to updating our fellow TAW members with more exciting news from our Division as both our division and game grows with time.
